She meant every single word she said in that church! Of all the shirts, blouses or sweatshirts she could have worn making this “apology” she picked the one expressing being rich! She was sending out a message via apparel contradicting her apology.
Not a good excuse. She could’ve been wearing it beforehand, but changed into something else more appropriate, then film the video and then changed afterwards. Simple. She knew what she was doing.

This is the second apology after the first (written) one didn't go over well. Something tells me she's lying about being coached by an attorney on that written letter because no competent lawyer would think that you have a legitimate case for defamation. Defamation only applies to lies presented as facts that harm the person being talked about; defamation doesn't apply to the negative OPINIONS people express about you. For instance, if people falsely accuse you of being a crackhead, having a stigmatizing disease, or stealing, and those lies cause you some type of harm or loss, THEN you have a better case for defamation. (even still, it's harder for public figures to succeed in defamation lawsuits than it is for private citizens). By contrast, if people pulling up old, unflattering pics of you, talking about your appearance, and dragging you in general, that's NOT slander or libel. This woman is just trying to save her brand. I suspect that a lot of the clergymen and gospel people whose livelihoods are funded by the working-class Black folks she offended aren't going to invite her to their churches and gospel events anymore if she continues to double down, gaslight the offended, and show no remorse. It's so obvious that she's trying to save that bag that she brags about.

I knew I was a Mess! TRUE Repentance is Work & for some it doesn't happen overnight. I Hope she gets better by really getting a relationship with GOD vs. Her gift 🎁 of Singing. No matter what Kim says people will attack, take it wrong and/or don't extend grace. The body of Christ is so easily to throw away grace. Forget how many times we had to ask God to forgive us for the same sinS. God is so long-suffering towards us that He forgives us over and over again. Even Jesus says to forgive. Kim may not be right all the time, but all the time people are waiting to tear her words apart in order to bring her down. Every since she spoke against same sex attraction. I understand those who don't believe in God's Word attacking her, but the body of Christ where is grace, prayer, correction with love, forgiveness and all the other ways we are required to treat those within the body? Celebrities claims to love God and they are the first one to use His name in vain in a cuss word. Yet, we don't call them out or write them off or even demand an apology.
That's absolutely my observation 100%. Those who are not truly of the body of Christ, including the seat warmers will always look for flaws and loopholes when it comes to difficult kingdom matters like forgiveness and grace. Very quick to quote Matthew 7:7 while hypocriticallly falling into that same unrighteous judgement. But, that is to be expected when you're already at odds with kindom living.
She made fun of poor people and called people ugly for wearing hats that cover their hair conditions. Apparently she meant for it to be a joke but it offended many, to say the least. Last time I checked, Jesus didn’t roll like that. She apologized and I accept it. I hope she learns from this. We’ve all made mistakes so all we can do is apologize and try to keep moving forward.

Maybe this is growth. All of the people she has hurt with her words over the years are the ones responsible for forgiving her. I have always said- the church has done poorly in the area of conveying the love of God to the LGBTQ+ community because much of what was taught came from an era where we didn’t talk about the realities of life. This idea didn’t derive from the Bible, but from sociocultural norms. It was a common practice to sweep things considered “socially unacceptable” under the rug and suffer in silence. That’s why you have so many preachers and congregation members being exposed for doing all kinds of things that go against Christian doctrine. If we don’t create a safe place for everyone in the church, we are not only adding to their pain and injuries, but we are pushing them away from God.. I believe Pastor Kim Burrell was not only genuine in her apology, but I also believe she really does love everyone. She was raised in the era I was talking about. That is what she’s known most of her life- but like many others in Christ- the church is waking up to the reality of our errors. This is not to say we are to condone things that are not consistent with the will of Christ- but it does mean we are to reconsider what it means to handle Gods people from a place of love- and allow each other the grace to come to God as we are. If we as Christian’s truly believe that God is who we say He is, then we only need be concerned with planting and watering the seeds of faith- and leave the rest up to God the Father in JESUS name. I praise God people are willing to extend grace to Pastor Kim Burrell and others like her.

At this point I think she says things for shock value to stay relevant to those that know of her. I believe that the Holy Ghost humbles you. It tells you what to speak on and what not to speak on. @@ddavis818 I seriously and very recently almost lost EVERYTHING that is important to me because I listened to that old slave mentality advice about forgiving and forgetting. I kept in close contact with a very close family member who has always been toxic even before I was born. She almost destroyed me. I have come to realize that I don't owe her anything. No one has a right to dictate and control your entire life just because they had something to do with you being alive. You didn't ask them to bring you here in the first place. I barely escaped. I just got off of bed rest from the health issues she has caused me.
It's amazing how Christians here in the comments behave as if they're spotless and without flaws that others need to forgive. Let's not give in to feelings and emotions but exercise what the bible say we should do when another fellow believer asks for forgiveness. I didn't feel the "heartfelt" part. Here's the thing. I love Kim, but she keeps "showing up" as this rude person. It's not about forgiving her because that's already done. Thanks for mentioning her comments on Sunday's Best. She showed us she was a churchy mean girl on that show. Her recent comments are in line with whom she's already shown herself to be.

I understand the power and necessity of forgiveness. But the idea of forgiveness does not absolve one from accountability. Kim has had this kind of terrible, arrogant, nasty, condescending attitude for DECADES now. But she's been allowed to get away with it because so many in the industry (like Ricky Smiley) laugh it off like it's just a joke but then emphasize how "heartfelt" her apologies are. 😆😒 When people are scared to keep us accountable either because of their friendship or because they fear losing political/industry favor with that person, that's how their behavior goes unchecked. And it's the condescending superiority complex of people like Kim Burrell that has successfully driven millions away from God's word of love, compassion & humility.

It goes against God's WORD! God said when you give to the poor you are giving to God (Proverbs 19:17). Kim is also disrespecting the Lord Jesus Christ by mocking the poor because when Jesus chose to die for our sins, He came in the lowliest role possible. He did not come as a rich king owning many possessions but He came as a living sacrifice who did not even have a place to lay His head (Matthew 8:20). What Kim said is very blasphemous. There is also a verse thay says Jesus did not come in an attractive body (Isaiah 53:2), so Kim is also disrespecting the Lord by focusing on man's outward appearance and calling God's children ugly.
