Amazing to watch the extensive highlights of this match. After many years of watching tennis this is the most amazing tennis, mens and womens, that i have been lucky enough to watch (I remember as i watch live on tv at that time that i was gobsmacked at the intensity and quality). One day it would great to hear both Kim's and Justin's take on the match with candid hindsight.
Just watched highlights of the 2021 AO women's final. Both Justine and Kim would have crushed either of this year's finalists with their mixture of power, finesse, all-court game, court speed and toughness. The standard of tennis in this game is astonishing compared to the current crop of women's players.
I think the girls today have a bit more power. Osaka, Andreescu, Sabalenka. Simona moves about as well as these two. But Kim and Justine developed all court play, attack, defense, net game, slice, lobs, drop shots all on display. They were true challengers to Serena had they not taken breaks/been injured or retired early
@@8876abhinav Girls may have more power today due to the new racquets and strings, but they really don't control that power that well. A lot of their matches devolve into error fests, against lesser players.
Osaka muguruza match was high quality as this and Osaka going God mode in last twenty one points making one error. . Praise past but that doesn't mean new players r bad. Players r more athletic and strong. Top 100 is good.
This is not the Justine till 2007 first final when she came back from retirement clearly not the same Justine. Not the same crushing forehand and backhand
You mean in the final of her first tournament back after a 2 year layoff, getting within 2 points of beating the US Open champion at the end of a really amazing, tight 3-setter? But beating the number 2, 7 and 3 seeds on her way to that final. And just a few weeks later, unseeded, making it to the final of the Aussie Open losing to Serena only in 3 sets? Wow - you're a tough one to impress. But clearly an expert tennis analyst, so hard to refute? Hope you're not as exacting to your nearest and dearest.........
@@danguee1 I mean Kim does win their h2h and Grand Slam wise Justine blew multiple Wimbledon ( I'm sure most would agree it's the most prestigious title in Tennis) opportunities under pressure. Look I love Justine but it is what it is.
