I haven't had this much fun in ages. Best hour and a half I've spent in ages. Chili peppers, Korn, Faith no more, MarilynManson, Sleep Token, Weezer , tenacious d. Creech and Chong. And many more. Thanks guys.
Yep. Also SoaD, Muse, some vocals sound like HIM, Disturbed, Nickleback, Maroon 5, and tons of songs and artists i don't remember by name, but that i know from radio when i was a kid and teen in 90s and early 2000s
Thanks for this NY gift 💖 As it now looks like, they do seem to be preping us for a different persona, you've read into that nicely. So stoked for what's coming next!
Sorry if I don't explain myself well since I am a Latin person and my English is not perfect. Personally, I am not a person who likes heavy music, say metal, rock, punk rock and other variants, but since I heard Kim Dracula my perspective of sounds towards this type of music changed completely. In songs I have found a lot of similarity to the group Maximum The Hormone (which I have known for a long time from anime) and it has made me enjoy all this type of music 100% more. How great that they react to the album that for me was one of the best of 2023, releasing my favorite music, which is hiphop. May you have a very happy year 2024 and meet your goals. If anyone could recommend similar artists to me, who dare and experiment with this type of music, I would be very grateful.
ohh my god you just reminded me of maximum the hormone, I used to love the song whats up people - yeeeears ago! i think you should go down the japanese visual kei rabbithole, bands like the gazette...etc. (there's so many bands that expirement a lot)
I wonder if anyone else spots the parallels between KD and MSI (Mindless Self Indulgence) - The sudden genera switches, rapping, humor, etc. Especially track 3. Edit: Mat mentioned MSI right after I wrote the comment, Kudos!
This album is a masterpiece and in my mind yes it is full of references and is just a ton of fun but I feel like it is basically you take Japanese bands and metal bands and shake them and take their lunch money 😂 Great reaction guys keep up the fantastic work and I agree with Matt about the make me famous song
I love the album, it's a total mind fuck. This is a masterpiece and a total fuckery. I love the MM and Korn and Mike Patton Vibes at times to Britney Spears and Seal to Kenny G and the lyrical skill of Ronnie Radke if he were in Mindless Self Indulgence or 12 Foot Ninja. Dark lyrics and story telling about being born a Nepo Kid and being touched as a youth to grown up adults who shoot up schools and want to become famous for it. and the various mental health warnings on it too, with Super hero where hyper kids on pills to control them. It all is a big story, maybe on the Character of Kim Dracula??? Who knows? I love it and it agrees with my inner squirrel brain/autism. Feels weirdly validating for a fat goth person who got bullied in the 2005-08 high school and that era in America, when there were maybe more school shootings and it only got worse since. Kudos to the Band Kim Drac and also to the reactors. it also disturbs a little too... at the end and then immediately the "Suicide" song Iris by Goo Goo dolls feels more under the ground than the OG which looked from above into society. A very dark and twisted fantasy. I also appreciate the humor in the reactors amusement to the album vocals.
While the album is beyond fun it has a very dark message behind it all. Basically an entire buildup to somebody becoming a mass shooter before ultimately ending their life.
Yes, while I have so much fun listening to it, I cannot escape the thought, that this person, who is barely 30 years old, has so much darkness and heavy thoughts in them. I really hope they are doing ok and have a lot of support from friends and family, to bare all this heaviness in their soul
I Had to look that up, I dunno about that. Not in Kim Drac's repertoire to reference. This is referencing every genre the 90's and 00's had to offer from Korn, Chili peppers, Manson and others... and even some 90's pop as in Britney Spears, Kenny G and Seal at times or even Kenny G with all sorts of horn sounds too. I don't think Kim would know what Yello is. Arguably. I didn't know either. That was educational, anyway thanks for letting us know what we are missing for the 70's and 80's pop
I personally felt like in the reference to MM "Kindrfeld and Beautiful People' sounds but also a story telling plot where the main character in the album was touched as a youth. Prob an abusive person like a step father or mom's boyfriend.
Well, YELLO had a huge influence on music and is a pretty well known duo (especially due to their track on the FERRIS BUELLER‘S DAY OFF soundtrack). They started in the 80ies but their latest album was released in 2020, so chances are pretty high that Kim has stumbled across them (since there are quite a few lounge/jazz/electronica elements on their album). But that‘s all just to give a bit more information as, of course, I don‘t really know. Still, when I hear ARE YOU? (and I mean that line within the song), my mind always goes to YELLO and songs by them like this one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--p51Ycx0SLc.htmlsi=FsPC4Vz6YZBpfijl
