Wahahahaha.. Mr Kim Huat you very de bad.. I totally burst out laughing! Agree with you that we have quite a lot of awesome National Day songs previously. But hor, to be fair, it's also not easy to keep outdo the previous years when it comes to song compositions lah.. Furthermore, one man's meat is another's poison. Maybe this song caters to the younger generation more? And trust me, it will grow on you de. I've prob listened to this year's song for more than 50 times just over the weekend coz was practicing for my NDP motivator duty. At first I kinda cringed, but after a few more rounds, I can feel the familiar NDP goosebumps (good ones) popping out. Try to give it another chance k! =) By the way, I love that challenge you gave for next year's committee! Let's see whether they can have a song without those words! Lolx!!!
I think they accepted Kim huat challenge to not use the 4 phrases he said for this year ndp song. Kim huat, go see and make vid reaction for this year song leh!
The worst is when they change the tune Majulah Singapura, like funeral song when someone die. Now really happen liao, what jinx for the sake of changing when running out of idea.

Remember the song, 'as one', written in 2015 ,which was ignored as an ndp song? It was an excellent song, rousing and well written, instilling in us a sense of pride and unity. Why can't we make that an ndp song, maybe next year, instead of commissioning someone to write another one.the present one sucks...pardon my language.
Home was definitely the best NDP song, but I won't say that the quality went downhill after that. There were a few good ones, such as "One United People", "We Will Get There", "Shine for Singapore", "What do You See", and "Love at First Light". Just ma opinion:)
Hi kim huat i just wanna point out that last year ndp song didnt use singapore/singaporean also and is actually not bad but they use the word dream alot even though its not in the title but i still think its better than this year one even though it sounded like pop song but this year one dun even sound like a song XD I also wanna point out the current ndp song already has 142 dislikes while im writing this and the views is only 11 thousand
