For those that think he don't sound that Korean or sounding Chinese, it's because when he returned to the peninsula in 1945, his Korean was marginal at best because he had spent up till that point 25 years living in Manchuria and the Soviet Union. He had no formal schooling in Korean. In fact he had been given coaching to read a speech in Korean at a party congress after returning to Korea.

Even Stalin himself was impressed with his russian when discussing the 1950 invasion plans for the korean war, in 1948. Entire convo was in russian, with no aides or anyone translating for either Kim, or Stalin. Beria even made the comment after the meeting to Stalin "we can use him". Stalin agreed, and the rest is history.

John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. Mark 1.15 15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Hebrews 11:6 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Jesus

Kim il sung seriously pondered the reunification with democratised south-Korea under civilian government in 1994 when this new year official speech was broadcasted by state-run television. But he eventually passed away just half a year later in hot summer&his hope of reunification was screwed by Kim Jong il,his successor.
@Reminisciences
@Reminisciences 6 лет назад
When you consider the combination of Japanese colonization and the SK government of Park Chung-hee the US supported for so many years, it's very easy to see why North Korea ended up the way it is. Hopefully someday reunification without bloodshed and the crushing of dissent, will be possible.

@hanbyeol12
@hanbyeol12 3 года назад
@dayum son Solely responsible? That a big kek from me Bro literally even before the Korean war, Rhee ordered killings of communists in the South, and had skirmishes with North Korea. It only became a "war" when North Korea actually crossed the border. Kim can be held responsible for war, but war can go either way. Massacres like the one in Jeju in '48 don't While Kim isn't in the clear for this, "solely" is not just totally biased but also an outright lie Kim never gave up on the concept of peaceful reunification, which led to the 1972 North-South declaration, which he pulled out of when Park Chung Hee had Kim Dae Jung kidnapped in Japan In 1980, far from the end of his life, he even proposed to North Koreans the concept of 고려민주 연방공화국 and it was never taken seriously by the then-dictatorship in South Korea I think the reason why OP made this comment was because there was a small timeframe in which South Korea was a democracy and Kim Il Sung was alive, and only Kim Il Sung, not Jong Il or Jong Un, could've set the path to reunification with the newly-democratised South (which OP even puts emphasis on)
@janrafftuzon8269
