This made me cry BIG!! As a chronically ill mom, I felt so guilty that I couldn't take my daughter to piano lessons. She loved playing. All I could do was take her hands and pray over them asking God to annoint her and teach her. Two days ago a VERY talented piano player that has played for over 40 years told me that my 15 year old daughter has surpassed her in piano playing and the only explanation was that it was a gift from God.🙌 Thanks so much for sharing this!! God knows how to give good gifts to his children!!

I knew your story before I heard it from you! God gave me my gift of playing when I was quite young, also! My mother was a church piano player. She really didn't want me to play because her brother played the blues well and never went to church. When my church recognized my talant and sent me to the best teacher in our area, I promised God that if he gave me that sound and style of the " educated " sound of this Negro teacher, I would always serve the church and school! Well, I'm 82 this year and retired after more than 72 years as a church and school music servant. I never played in the clubs. My son is now carrying on as 4th generation musician in our family.what inspiration I get when I hear this great woman of God render her best unto the Lord!

I wept with tears of joy and adoration as Kim took us right into the throne room of God ! ! !

I was a PK and I so loved your testimony. I am an Organist and my experience is so much like yours, only I started playing about 5 and it was in the key of "C". My Uncle and Dad, Mom and Aunt laid hands on me and asked the Lord to give me the ability to play for Him. I started playing for services when I was about 12 years old and have played for church worship ever since. The Lord is good and faithful to us.

HALLELUJAH! WHAT A GIFT! I stumbled upon your video and am so blessed! I'm 63 and been singing in the choir since I was 12! God gave me the passion to worship HIM anywhere I'm asked to, in regular Sunday Choir, Wake services and even in a non-Christian gathering, singing Christian songs also! Now, I'll start reviewing my basic piano with the second hand keyboard that I bought for my 63rd birthday! I have watched Kim played the piano at Gaithers Homecoming. I have heard her testimony on how she learned to play the piano. Truly God gave her the gift and she used it wisely to glorify God through the Church. A Godly woman came from a Godly family married to a Godly man and raised a Godly family of singers and musicians. May the Lord continue to use you and your talent to uplift the needy in their times of needs.

As a pianist for most of my life, I know first hand how difficult it is to play some of the things that some of the Gospel pianists play. I started playing at age 6. I'm now 52. I had 3 different teachers. 4 if you include my piano professor for the one semester of college. Of those, only 2 were formal, and both of those were short lived for teaching me, 6 months or less. I also played by ear. If I could hear it, I could have the music and work thru it. Playing by ear is a very hard struggle for formal piano teachers. They don't like it when students do that. I was introduced to Dino's music first around the age of 19 or 20. I was hooked on his music the very first time I saw him in concert. I started playing his music. Not strictly from the music, but by the way I heard him play it on his recordings. Then I saw Anthony while going to some of the Gaither Homecoming concerts. I never was able to play a lot of his stuff. I couldn't figure out how he did some of the things he did. Then, at another one of the Gaither Homecoming concerts, a GaitherFest in Myrtle Beach, SC, the Collingsworth family sang and I heard Kim play for the very first time. I believe that was in 2011. The very first time I heard their harmony, I knew they were special. Then when Kim sat down at the piano and played, It was like seeing and hearing Dino and Anthony all over again, but rolled up into one. She has the stage presence and classical styling of Dino with the arrangement types of Anthony. She also has a lot of the early Dino style as well. I can't do some of the things she does either. God blesses people at specific times with specific gifts. One of my opinions is that God blessed Kim with her abilities because He knew he was going to call Anthony home earlier than most would have thought and He needed someone to continue to carry that torch onward. And she does that with ease. Her anointing is very obvious and evident in her playing. The whole family praises God and makes sure He is given all the glory for everything they have done, are doing and will do. Without God, we are nothing. Thru God, we can do all things. I'm not taking away from any other pianists in the industry by any means. There some great ones. Jeff Stice, Josh Singletary, Gerald Wolfe and so many others. I think people like Kim and Anthony were given their talents for a specific purpose. Anthony used his and Kim still uses her talent for God, letting others know the power of God. He can do anything He wants. We just have to ask, be receptive for that gift and truly believe that it will be given to us. Then use it to honor and glorify His name. I pray that Kim and the entire Collingsworth family continues to bring their ministry in song to the people around world. This world so desperately needs to hear the Word now. God loves all of His children. We need to hear His word and his message. We need His guidance, His love, His grace and His mercy right now. Thank you Phil, Kim, Brooklyn, Courtney, Phil Jr. and Olivia for your unwavering service to the Lord. May the Lord continue to bless each of you and use you to spread His message of love, hope and peace to all those who need to hear it and need to be reminded of it.

Kim, I heard you play for the first time through FBA Palm Sunday 2023. I just heard your story about asking God for a gift. When our DIL was experiencing her first child I prayed he would have a heart for God as King David did and that he would have a musical gift that would speak to God’s people. He is almost 11 years old now. Kim, God answered my prayer. His story sounds much like yours. I pulled up the FBA service this past Sunday and let him hear you play. He was riveted to the piece. As if each note was being stored into his being. When he plays it’s as if he is one with the music. God truly answered your prayer and ours. Thank you for your testimony. To God be the Glory!

I always wanted to play the piano. When I was 14 I cleaned a house for a lovely Christian woman and in return she taught me the treble clef. I was playing around on the piano one day and not knowing a thing was playing the bottom hand just like the top, my girl friend said what are you doing-she taught me the bass clef. As they say the rest is history. I have been playing for nearly 50 years. I have played for Choirs, Church Services, Weddings , Funeral, Soloists and I teach beginner piano. when someone asks I always say God taught me how to play. I do not play anywhere near how you play, but my life isn't over yet and I keep asking the Lord to let me play like that. Thank you for your inspiration and sharing the Gift God has given you! The faith of a child! ❤️❤️

So much of her story sounds much like my own when I was little. My mother read me a bedtime story about a little girl who wanted to play the piano so she prayed for a piano to take lessons on and Jesus heard her prayers.So I did the same, and Jesus answered my prayers. I took about 6 months of lessons but enjoyed playing hymns rather than my lesson pieces. (Mostly by ear) I’ve since picked up playing the organ as well and can pretty much hold my own while playing in church. Thank you Kim for your story, it brought back memories I had forgotten about through the years. Thank you Jesus for the precious gift you gave to me so many years ago

Though I in NO WAY am blessed with the magnitude of Mrs Kim's gift, our stories are incredibly similar!!!! Oldest Pastor's daughter of 5. Always enthralled with music-even crying at specials as a child. Migrated to a piano in ANY room. At 6 I played Mansion over the Hilltop and shocked the children's SS teacher! I did have sporadic lessons from 6-8. (Had to walk so weather played a part. Didn't always have a quarter!). Asked God to please let me play the piano for church. By 10 I was playing for SS classes, then Children's church, Youth Group, filling in on vacation days for the church pianist. I loved every challenge and found that playing in flats was so much better than sharps! I'd put an AM radio on top of the old upright piano and copy the country songs or religious station. I challenged myself to play a certain number of pages in the hymnal every week. Not just the ones I knew! Whew! Then my Dad was called to a larger church in Orlando. At almost 14, the elderly pianist handed over the "church pianist job" to me. What??!!!! Now I was nervous! I'd never played choir music! But you know what God did? He gave my head and hands abilities I had no reason to understand! At 15 I played my first Christmas cantata! I can't tell you how except God knew I HAD TO! I only dated one man, my husband. My parents went to the courthouse to sign for their 17 11/12 yr old to marry an almost 23 yr old USN Jesus lovin sailor! We, along w our 3 sons and their families, have served Jesus over 42 yrs. Beautiful Testimony... It so resonates with me... I also play the piano and have always believed it is a gift from God. I have told many my story of having my piano instructor play the piece so I could hear it then I could learn it, till she caught on to what I was doing and then my “lessons” stopped. One of the reasos I always contributed my piano playing to God is because I can only play Christian or gospel music. When I would try a secular song it just doesn’t flow always a struggle. I used my gift more when I was younger, then life got busy and I don’t play as much anymore.. But I’m retired now and My prayer is that I am able find more ways to glorify Him with the gift He has shared with me. I had the privilege of attending the concert on Thursday evening, Feb. 27th, 2020 in Tucson AZ. My sister invited me last year to join her and a bunch of friends. What a blessing. Me and my ex wife both play the piano and harmonize together like no one’s business. I always dreamed of having a music ministry with our three children. We’re divorced now and she hates me. Sometimes I sit at the piano and sob out of pain. I mourn the loss of what could of been, but still greatful for my gift of piano playing.
