When you hear one of the memebers in SKZ mention the word "old," they are definately talking about Chan

I think ranking them is really hard since they’re all pretty much fluent. lee know for example understands everything but he’s not really confident in his english so he doesn’t speak much. Felix mentioned he talks in english a lot with lee know, changbin & jeongin. hyunjin, jisung & seungmin are pretty much fluent in all aspects but they still study tho & then ofc felix and chan

Of the Korean members, Seungmin's English is the most advanced. He's fluent. People will tell you he somehow mastered English by living in the US for a few months in kindergarten; he didn't. He picked up reasonable basics -- and then has diligently continued studying. We've literally seen him studying English and asking for clarifications from the Aussies. So people who assign his hard-earned language skills to magical absorption at, and retention from, a few months of exposure in early childhood are dismissing all the work he actually put into this. Han and Hyunjin are both conversational, but their skills are different. Hyunjin's English was low level until the last few years, during which he started studying intensively; he's currently focusing on practical English in college. Resultantly, his English skill has very noticeably improved over the last 2-3 years. Han spent years being closely exposed to a multilingual population in international school (and outside it) in Malaysia, and English is currently the world's lingua franca, so that was the primary shared communication language among them. Hyunjin's English is largely learned through academic study, so his version tends toward the textbook-correct side. Han's English is largely learned through everyday interpersonal usage plus his longstanding consumption of and interest in a lot of music from English-speaking artists, so his version tends toward the casual, slangy side. He also tends to seem a little more confident in his English usage, presumably just because he had the opportunity to spend a longer time actually communicating in it rather than learning it from study materials. Both are fully capable of conversing in English and understanding what's being said. They've been studying, and Changbin and I.N have both recently shown notable improvement in their English skills. Neither is fluent or conversational, but both understand most of what's being said. Changbin, as a lyricist who studies word usage and listens to plenty of English-speaking artists, tends to have more of a tendency toward wordplay, but both of them can hold a basic conversation so long as the English speaker they're talking with doesn't get too slurry or fast or complicated. Basically, they understand what's being said and can communicate. Lee Know's English has actually improved a bit, especially during the US portion of the tour, but his level isn't as high as the others', and he isn't really that interested in pursuing it hardcore. He can catch _some_ of an English exchange, if it's not fast or complex (some fans have started claiming he understands everything, but he himself says otherwise), and he can speak/understand enough to communicate basic things. But he's more interested in building his Japanese skills, so that's where his study is focused rn, and his improvement in that language has been readily noticeable lately. Fwiw, they're _all_ working on improving their Japanese skills as well (and, as mentioned, this one takes precedence over English for Lee Know, which is actually a pretty practical decision since he's in a group with two native English-speakers and five others who can function to various degrees in English already). Felix is also working on Mandarin, but at the moment I can't find my notes about who else is working on what.

I think Seungmin and Han are the best at English (right after the Aussies of course). Then I'd say comes Hyunjin, Changbin I.N and Lee Know. Lee Know has said he understands English very well but is insecure about his speaking skills. personally I find his English really adorable:)

Han, Seungmin - they both studied English, both lived in the US for a short time 3. Hyunjin- he learned a lot, he studied it at uni too, he is trying. He's just not very comfortable using it because of his grammer (honestly same), but we clearly understand him, and he is always trying to talk more because of i-stays. 4. IN+Changbin - mostly saying phrases and words, or if they heard something they liked. They improved a lot. Changbin started to study eng. when he was 18 so he could communicate with Lix from the start. 5. Minho - he understands videos/edits with subtitles, i think, but he is not comfortable using it. When they do English interviews, he just sits there quietly. They speak for him usually (mostly Chan and Han). But when they're on tour, for example, now in Australia, he did a speech in English and i was so proud of him. He has english lessons, and he is trying to improve to talk more with i-stays

Seungmin lived in LA for only 3 months when he was in 3rd grade (i think thats like 8 or 9 idk im not american), but he picked it up quite well somehow and obviously learnt some off chan, felix and maybe taught himself some. And i would think all the members can understand English well but some of them aren't as confident speaking it 👍 The best speakers though I'd say are Felix/Chan, Han and seungmin.

umbrella, Jisung. I absolutely love Seungmin and I appreciate that you looked at another solo video for him. He is 'mean' to the other members but it's all in jokes and they know that. he's just as savage as Aespa. In order of best to worse at English, it's roughly: Chan / Felix They're fluent Han Pretty much fluent, he grew up and studied in Malaysia where they taught a decent amount of English Seungmin He is just naturally good at learning. He also lived in LA for a little bit, he also went to the same school as Chan at some point ( I think it was highschool) so that also explains it. Hyunjin / Changbin They had a lot of training and lessons to help them, Hyunjin lived in Las Vegas for a while, Changbin gets special lessons from Felix Lee know / I.N They aren't as good as the other members, probably from less opportunities to learn, but they're getting lessons from the other members ofc. I.N always asks what somethings means, and always learns something new, and LK gets some time with the aussies and Han (ofc with Han). He also is pretty good with his English, but just not confident in it, so he doesn't speak English a lot. Felix often talks in English to the other, less fluent members to help them, and the more fluent members so they can just have conversations.

Seungmin is such a sassy one... you can see this at the concerts too.... it's so funny.

I would say: Chan + Felix (native) Han (has experince from spending his childhood in Malaysia + loves watching BBC documentaries, so British) Seungmin (quickly learned it after 3 months in the US, pretty much fluent, more American accent, he is confident in speaking even though he might make mistakes) + Hyunjin (lived in the US for some time, when he was about 5, he understands everything and has a higher level than Seungmin but is shy to speak as much as him, so he lacks some practice, he is also majoring in English at university), both have more of an American accent, sometimes Aussie, HJ is an honorary Aussie😅 Changbin (he got so much better, is able to communicate and he knows some quite difficult words, he just doesn't use it often but he is pretty good, still more of a Korean accent) I.N (also improved a lot too and can understand a lot, has quite a typical Korean accent) Lee Know (doesn't use it much, understands to an extent, but finds it difficult, he improved when they were touring the US but again forgot a lot, so he decided to focus more on Japanese to know at least one langauge really well, and he is one of the best Japanese speakers with Chan and Han)

1. Chan & Lix 2. Han 3. Seungmin (about the same as Han?) 4. Hyunjin 5. Lee know 6. Jeongin 7. Changbin The last three understand it more than they speak it. They seem insecure with pronunciation so I don't think they speak it that often, but they still understand what they need to.

Umbrella When Seungmin told Bixby to reset the phone, you could see Changbin panic (and Chan's shock afterwards) because they use their phones when they are writing lyrics. Could you imagine them losing all they lyrics they hadn't synced to the laptop yet! I would say the order of English would be; Chan\Felix, Seungmin (Spent a few months in the US when he was young. He and Changbin speak to Felix in English a lot), Han (spent a few years in Malaysia and seems to be quite good at picking up languages. His Japanese is also very good, though he is not that great with Kanji), Hyunjin (also spent a few months in the US. He was majoring in English at university, not sure if he might have switched to art), Changbin (he sometimes speaks more English than Han and has gotten pretty good) IN (has also improved a lot), Lee Know (has gotten a little more confident, but he says Felix will teach him English, then the next day he has forgotten it)

I've honestly been having a difficult time mentally but watching your recent skz vid reactions cheered me up alot, including this one so I'd like to thank you. I'd also like to recommend you to do a reaction on skz tiktok vids as well if you're fine with that. Thank you!

Seungmin's Fluent , ish, he was a host on ASC where he pretty much only spoke english

umbrella! seungmin did live in the US for like 3 months when he was pretty young but i don’t really understand why some people act like that’s the sole reason he’s fluent. it probably gave him a good boost in foundations and basics (and helped with pronunciation as well) but i think we can assume he studied very hard, learned a lot from chan/felix, and also had some good english speaking gigs (ex. after school club host). if there was some other thing he did predebut outside of studying then, well, we don’t really know. but it always puts me off when people attribute his good english to a couple months in the US when he was like 8. it doesn’t work like that and he’s probably worked his ass off to develop his skills into the level he’s at now.

PERSONALLY on the English scale from best to least it would go Felix Channie (Chan) Seungmin Hannie Hyunjin I.N. Binnie (Changbin) And Leeknow Just from what I've observed in videos

You’re pretty much right with the members English levels there Obviously Chan and Felix are both fluent Next best is Seungmin Then id say Han Then Hyunjin Then probably Changbin Then I.N And then finally Lee Know These are subjective Ofc Lee know understands quite a bit but isn’t confident speaking English. Spending Woman's Day with my fave boys, Skz & LazyJamie is a win for me. 😁 To answer your question about their English capabilities, they all understand it and can communicate well, it's just some of them are a little bit shy and afraid of speaking, for example during the concerts. Lee Know & I.N are usually the ,,quiet ones", but they've improved a ton since their debut. Lee Know is studying hard, and he's getting more confident as days go on.

Umbrella Seungmin and Jisung both have the best English in skz, but the rest of them are trying really hard to get better too; I think I remember seeing Changbin saying that Felix, Chan, and Seungmin were all helping him with his English.

1.Felix and Chan cause they grew up speaking it 2. Seungmin cause he lived in the US for a little bit and then continue to study it. He was even the host of a English speaking Korean chat show a few years back 3.Han cause he went to school in Malaysia for a few years 4. Hyunjin I think teaches himself 5.
