She's very charming, but do you really think this singer is one of the most talented of all time?? If so, you should listen to artists like Betty Carter, Mary Margaret O'Hara, Anita Baker, Dusty Springfield, just to mention a few female singers who have grazed the realm of pop music.
@@andreasnssjohnsen6023 at least you didn't include any of the crop of todays so called all time greats like Adele and Beyonce. They are not worthy of lacing the boots of your list and Kim too.
No, she didn't have some at all. She had ALL of them, and that include everything not even made a single or overlooked for single. Even among the best competition the best decade had to offer, she still wins and it's not hard to see why. No one ever excelled with such a quality range of differing styles in just one decade as consistently as she did, and it would have been more had fairness anything to do with it.
The closest I ever got to the wondrous Kim was my mum met her Dad Marty at the local nightclub. She should have asked for Kim's phone number for her infatuated son!!
Sounds awful. Whenever she's on radio, it's NEVER with her own stuff, but other people's shit. She always been obsessed with everyone else's songs to her utter detriment. And ours! She'd rather waste 'Time' doing this then getting a new album out, try to get that locked away 1998 record out or all the remasters that have never seen the light of day yet, while other acts are likely on their 4th 'special' version.
@@kyachdistent1301Well, you may right. You say she’s neglecting his music. Maybe she needs a steady paycheck which a Radio show can provide. Whereas the music business has been shut down for two years due to Covid. Actually that was the time to release new product. And the music business is so fickle anyway. If you don’t have a hit, forget it. You can’t make anything now especially with all the free downloads. So I don’t blame her. Forget the music biz!
@@dynjarren8355 Well crap can make anything and crap always DOES make things. Which just ensures they stay that way and never gone. She's live show crazy these days and loves gigs, an ironic reaction for a woman who hates her back catalogue and legacy so much that the setlist remains utterly unchanged, where the only new additions are yet another cover, usually from the next pop star to have just pegged it. I suppose should evil hag madogga actually ever be 'selfless' enough to do so (not), Wilde, like everyone else, will do a whole concert dedicated to and full of her crass stolen crap. In fact, why even wait? Downloads do NOT stop the boring like of Depress Mode, Pet Flop Boys, Simple Minds, Kylie, Hagdonna etc. 'Get Out' their next 100 albums, and certainly not the garbage of today (Swift, Styles, Knowles, Carey, Ora, Adele, Sheeran, Bieber etc.) who have it so easy all the time. Define hit. No one has a hit if you come from the 80s, there's no literal chart or anything. Acts who don't have hits STILL make records. This is a truth, and it always has been. You can't have a hit when everything is against you having that hit, and even if you do, what's it for? A pointless record company and no one else. My problem is, why does she keep saying she's: 2working on a new album/preparing to re-release past albums or get out demos or doing an "anti-tour" to sing things she only ever stops herself from doing live in the 1st place" when she means NONE of it?! Don't lie, Kim, best say nothing!
@@kyachdistent1301 Well, you’ve said a lot. I don’t think Kim Wilde is the one responsible for the mess the music business is in right now alone. The record companies had a lot to do with it. Ripping off Artists by not paying them properly. Now the downloads pay next to nothing as well. It’s not my problem either or yours. It will sort itself out eventually.
@@dynjarren8355 They make it our problem by being the way they are. And once again, though the music scene is long dead and artists aren't artists, but do tell me about the like of slagdonna, Pariah vile Carey, Celine Dion, Sheryl Cow, Bon Jovi, Wet Wet Wet, Take That, Boyzone, Oasis, Blur, Taylor Shit, None Direction, Adele hell, Rita Orful, Beponce Knowles, Diarhianna, Jessie Glynne sin, Ed Sheeran, The 1975, Katy Perry, Dua Lipa, Kanye West, Jay-Z and virtually anything today you can't get away from-how the hell are THEY getting ripped off, effing assh@ole billionaires who get exactly everything and would sue to hell and back if they even lost an effing quid. It's not THEM who lose out, it's people from the 80s, like Kim, OMD, Duran Duran, Kirsty MacColl and all the actual talented ones that lose out this way. With Kim, though, the drive to make records is far down the list of gardening, wretched sap-induced X-mas shows, hosting lousy radio shows of other people's trash songs and live sets of her same 7 tunes , always ending on that 'Kids' bore, with nothing else to add to set but covers. Tell me how it'll sort itself out. Anyway, that's what labels have always done, it's their DNA to rip off artists. who either know this going in but think they'll handle it or don't believe for a second they'll be targeted. The mess the music world is in is the future of stagnation; went to trash before the social media age accelerated it and everyone gyrating about their bedroom to a phone app with no point, no talent and a lousy voice to boot was given a record deal. And it's usually those that have it easy that bang on about being ripped off, but it don't stop them making records either. Bloody labels-can't even screw over all the crap that deserve it! Hateful of course.
For me, Kim was talented singer, not perfect, but nice. Her beauty definitely helped her building star image - for sure. Between 1993-1995 her beauty was in the most breathtaking bloom. Years 80s were from today's perspective....just funny in regard of styling. However I remember those years perfectly fine. 😊
A pure flower that blossomed into a beautiful talented rock goddess thank you Kim Wilde for bringing such a great career such a brilliant singer from a loving fan God bless you 👍👍🙏🙏🙏 from a fan in Ireland 👍👍
I had the utterly amazing experience of being in Stockholm Sweden in the summer of 1990. I went to see David Bowie in concert at the Olympic Stadium. The opening acts were Joe Satriani... and yes... Kim Wilde. Truly an amazing and once in a lifetime experience. What a show.
❤ Kim Wilde❤ for ever !!!
Had the pleasure of meeting her a few years ago -she was advertising a health food shop I worked on the production - she loves gardening, horticulture and a glass of wine. She was absolutely charming lovely and funny. No ego, very down to earth. One of the nicest people - she remembered everyone’s name and just so great.
@@Frankincensedjb123 I absolutely would with Kim Wilde, yes! I mean there are worse female 80s singers. She was the most successful British female solo act of the 1980s, so yeah, why not! lol. And manufactured? only inasmuch as her father was the 50s/60s star Marty Wilde and her brother and her wrote most of her early hits.
Love this video. I didn't know she had so many hit, great songs. The only ones to make it to the US were Kids in America and You keep me hangin on. Thanks for posting.
Enjoyed this. Kim seemed to get more beautiful the older she got. I remember the early material but ‘you came’ was the time I fell in love as a late teenager. Wow. Unique voice, unmistakable. ❤
I met her at a concert when she looked just like she did at 7:52 (1983) and I can say she looked as beautiful close-up as she does on this video. Plus, she was a nice person and not at all stand-offish.
I arrived in England (USAF) in Jan 1981 and soon after found Kim. I had an article of her taped up in my locker for the rest of the year and into 1982.
I was 11 years old when I listen to Kim an Cambodia. As a young boy my hormones plays crazy when Kim was on TV. Unique Voice - unique time and unique Kim Wilde! Thanks for showing.
So was I and so were mine :) Don't know about you but hearing these back to back was a bit of a shock tbh. She's always been criminally underrated, a bit like her dad.
Two women that were fantastic and did not get the uk recognitionthe deserved with Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime, but not so in Europe. However the main video was done out doors in London in EC3. It was Nena's song, Irgendwie, irgendwo, irgendwann reworked into english, not only that when this video was made Nena was 43 and hot hot hot. Those two remind me of the women in Abba, the blonde would get the thumbs up from your mum but the brunette would get the thumbs up from you, your dad and any chap that you knew!!!!
не было тогда дискотек, глухо было как в концлагере, - на любую песню надо разрешение Комитета Комсомола и вообще Директора, - в Перестройку конечно пошёл свежий воздух, но года с 1988го.

Kim wilde is gear! Most people that appear on pop shows know that that they lip-sync. Here in america, she had kids in america & her #1 you keep me hanging on. American music sucks but the british have always had excellent pop. I do not know why she was not more popular, radios never played her music. Kylie, mel & kim, the smiths etc.
The keyboardist who appears a few times over the first half of this video is her brother, he wrote and produced a lot of the songs for her career. Edit: he pops up again at the end playing guitar.
