I have followed your career since the beginning. I've blasted your music (loved your extended singles) in my convertible so the whole world can hear it. I love the 80s style sequencers, the energy, and that absolutely fantastic voice you have. Such a beautiful woman with a great personality. Thank you for not retiring, and continuing to make wonderful music. Your new single is awesome! We love it! Kim...we Love YOU!
Kim if U read.... Do know that i Alexio also still adore 2 of your burried standalone diamonds. 'LOVED" and 'WITHOUT YOUR LOVE" (from that soundtrack) that many times spin in my head's turntable together with 'Lovers on a beach" and 'Take me tonight".U unforgetable, gorgeous, icon.
Would of thought it would of been more sense to release album November, December for the Christmas market. Most other artists target that time but on a positive note I love the new track.
It's nothing like the 80s at all!!! 😂 I grew up in that decade. Always been my favourite decade as was my decade! Nothing like Kim's 80s music or sound. But it's really good. Sounds exactly like 2020s club and dance music
@@duncanbrownlee8416 The 80s is unbeatable. She wants to do a "Close" type album, why ever I don't know, but it's likely the easiest one to emulate as all the other 80s albums are more complex (including the B-sides).
I've also lived in that era real time(I'm a '70s/'80s teen) and i deff breath an '80s flavoured aura yet it's modern too. and far better than lots of stuff we hear today in the clubs.I'm so proud of that decade.Let's not forget that 2 of the monstrous hits the last couple of years were clearly '80s inspired , The Weekend's 'Blindied by the light"(co-written by '70s/'80s teen then Max Martin and very much 'Miami Vice" oriented) and Harry Style's "As it was"(which possibly would exist if it wasn't for A-ha's 'Take on me" played backwards.)'80s had lots of colours within its 10 years period. There was a evolution and progression from the early to mid to the late years of the decade regarding styles and sounds.Unforgetable, irreplaceaple, fascinating, creative, supreme, carefee, nostalgic,
Sharing my opinion I'ld like to observe my getting get some 'Stone" '88 vibes('Close"),some 'Teases and dares" era's memories , some '00s 'Loved" and '10s 'Lights down Low" power (all reminiscent from part of her exciting previous discography) but blended so fine with a good production and decent songwritting and quality that for me is so much missed from many acts being in the charts today.
@@ykm4818 I think what he means-and what we all mean is that she takes 100 yrs between each new album-even longer if it's not all about bloody covers, so it's like she keeps stopping and disappearing back to the garden. She don't watch it she'll beat a whole load of other inadequate types as a covers queen, something she would've deplored before her long retirement in the late 90s, but I guess family and age changes things for the worst. Let's not grow up, ay! And as she keeps going away for long periods and doing nothing musically except to perhaps report every 3yrs a "new album is in the working" (I guess 3 lines for one song are recorded every year or so) naturally it appears like she springs back from nowhere! Which she does, cos she's not doing anything musically UNTIL she does, right?! Dear oh dear!
@@ykm4818 What would you know about real fans? You're just an idiot with a very basic outlook of life, and so dumb they don't even comprehend that their very idols can drive them mad. I don't care if you need an explanation from me or not I'm pointing out to an ignoramus like you exactly why it feels like she keeps retiring. You're no fan cos you don't care whether she bothers getting out any proper record or not but others of us do, hence the other comments here, it is from others, you just conveniently don't read it but then that's you isn't it? Please, play manager? Chance would be a fine thing. No many real fans just tune in tune off because they often believe someone has stopped doing new music, which isn't surprising when artist in question is more about the garden, tonnes of covers, Christmas gigs and shows of the same old setlists that merely seem to be too much effort to go for, at last a new record IS the real deal. What do you mean "Kim's the only one there has still be there since the 80s"? Don't be dumb; Duran Duran, A-ha, Sandra, Alphaville, New Order and OMD, plus overrated bores like Simple Minds, Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys have all "been here since the 80s". There's no "so what?" about it, a 9yr break is aggravating, not least when it keeps happening, it's a constant block. Many fans feel this, not just me, and that 1998 album is STILL not out!
Kim is incredible! She sounds EXACTLY as she did when she first burst onto the scene in the 80's! This track's a great throwback to her 80's work, yet somehow still sounds modern. Love this track. She's a legend!
Better than 1981. Unless you mean it's like the spirit of creativity as finally been stoked like it was in the 80s, even without the necessary quantity of course.
Yes and it's virtually ALL the ones that are always bloody emblazoned as critical darlings-Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, Stevie Nicks, even Sade has, and Kate Bush has been a worry since 2005. Virtually all the ignored, even vilified acts from the 80s remain strong, and Kim is the best of them, just like she was then, and those people are great.
@@davejackson3284 That is a BRILLIANT idea, mate. Both sides are crazy not to have thought of that and done something about it. After all, she's teamed with silly twits like Kershaw and Astley, and Midge Ure is on the new record, so why not them? It could at least be a non-album single. Good one.🤗🤗🤩🤩😍😍
@@kyachdistent1301 I have been a massive DD fan since I was 12 years old, seen them live 14 times and couldn't think of anything more I would like them to add to their history than a team up with Kim. She's a diamond and never fails to engage me with her music. I think she's an absolute legend. Glad you agree with me! 😍😍😍
@@davejackson3284 Always happy to agree with the agreeable. That's an impressive amount of times you've seen DD. I tend to miss out on concerts these days, too many complications involving them, and there are reasons they can be letdowns in the way your record collection doesn't do-too many of the best artists have inflexible setlists that are geared to disappoint a true fan who wants to hear more than the just the same old 20% or less covering an act's career. 💜the perfect comment about the 'Perfect Girl' (geddit?) being a "diamond that never fails to engage with her music". That I couldn't put better, I can only 'I second that'! I love how you've stayed with DD and Kim, so sick of this whole "like them when they're 'in' moment and then tune out"-to me an artist is always 'in'-unless they have a falling off moment-or future, and while some or even many have, DD and Kim are people I've always bought albums by and continue to support, that includes getting all the B-sides/demos too that is humanly possible. While not all albums are same in quality, never have there be bad ones, just a few that disappoint rather over the usual standard, but still ownable. And their bravery-their commitment to being different, challenging and never sticking to the one style or formula-is what keeps us with them, and that's never changed. I'm happy to state I don't rate the excellent "Close" as her all-round best just because most pipe up that's it so just because, and I happily state I actually find the overrated, overexposed 'Kids In America' as her least remarkable 80s moment; I'm even mixed about mentioning that cos though it's important to get it out there to all that think it's the high opposite, it means I've just drawn attention to it again like everyone else does, though not for the same reasons. Likewise, I hate the "DD were at their best when all 5 were together at the start". I don't agree at all, many of Duran's greatest works have been done OUTSIDE the 80s, and their weakest ever original album was their 3rd, which many more would admit if they weren't being sheep. Naturally I still own it but it is miles and miles underneath far far better works which are typically universally despised for no good reason ("Liberty", "Pop Trash", "Red Carpet Massacre"). What matters to me is the music, I can't level stupid aimless hate at an album just because the "original 5 aren't there" or it's in to do so because it's not the early 80s any more. I notice critics have been sucking up to DD somewhat since 2015 which is timely but nauseating in its faux worship of a band that never ever took an easy ride nor did things just to stay in with people or the critics, unlike many. I 💜💜💟💟your love for Kim and the "Boys" (geddit) cos I utterly share it. I also generally love Kim's underrated and ignored albums more than the few that get the attention (but unlike Duran, her stuff is more ignored for the most part, so that's a lot of albums, but "Catch As Catch Can" remains far and away the bravest, multi-faceted, experimental and all-bases and truly unpredictable album she ever did, but I do put it on the same career-best alongside "Select" and "Teases & Dares". Huge songs come from other albums she's done, but that so-called thing means nothing as everything is huge, and no other albums deals out the untouchable songs these 3 albums are chock-full of and timeless as timeless.
I am sorry : but live it isn´t so. I saw her live in my home town 2 years ago and for me it has been the badest concert. Her sound ingeneer did not a good job : the sound of the band has been to loud for her and at the end of the show (she played only 75 minutes) she had to shout against the band.
This is a fabulous track. The sound is so 'Kim Wilde', and this is what I like! The 80s will always be around the corner, and never forgotten in my world. Kim Wilde's voice is so recognisable, even after all these years. So pleased she was brought back down to Earth again. Thank you all aliens out there!
'Closer' is a really good name for the new album! Making reference to the 'Close' album from 1988 (yes I bough the CD that year and still have it of course)
Now, this is some pure pop-rock hit! Been waiting for a new song from Kim for a long time, but this track exceeded my WILDEst expectations. This should be on the radio stations, hands down. I'm waiting for the trance remix.
Jolie et talentueuse Kim enfin de retour ! Il était temps ! Plus que cinq mois avant la sortie de l'album "Closer" en janvier 2025 ❤ Viva Kim, Ricky and all the family 💟 💟 💟 Et n'oubliez pas de passer par la France ! 🇫🇷
Wow I love the song ! Very good. Love Kim Wilde 🤩 I was not born when she started but i love so much 80s music. Artists from 80s are the best. Definitely Thank You Kim for your amazing songs ♥
Kim, This is a wonderful and a meanigful song of you " Trail Of Destruction" which is a lesson to this world to stop the war on innocent people and to stop fake news on every media. Kim , Even your latest songs are best as your 80's songs.
Wow!!! This is old school with a fresh vibe. I love it. It seems to address all the turmoil in the world with out targeting any one group. Really really good!!!
wow grew up listening to Kim in the background not my go to music genre but appreciated her voice this is a great track superb lyrics sends a strong message go Kim
Merci Kim !!! 👍 Trop bien de nous faire vibrer au son de ta voix et de tes rythmes !! Tu restes la plus belle et la plus top des icônes de notre génération !!! Merci merci merci.....!! Et encore ne lâche rien !! 💕💕💕😘😘😘👍
Simply amazing! So sad, but true! This song has the same strong meaning as "Burn it down!" by Linkin Park ("We're building it up to break it back down. We're building it up to burn it down. We can't wait to burn it to the ground.") I often wonder why people are so blind not to see that all they've created and built in a lifetime, they destroy in few minutes?! We must build something to last, not to be destroyed. Wouldn't it be better this way? ❤ Kim Wilde is one of my favourite singers and she's got a very sensitive and deep soul. This is the message we need. Thank you so much for this precious gift! ❤❤❤
I think this song is aimed at the madmen and their followers, who can destroy in a few days or hours what the silent masses took decades or centuries to build, and History is full of examples like that
Never failed either, unlike most acts copping out somewhere along the way with middling stuff, even if they're usually good. But then some have a better pedigree than others, like Kim and Ricky do.
Mrs.Kim Widle !!!❤❤❤ This is a HIT!!!❤❤❤ Respect!!!Good Job!!!❤❤❤ Thank You!.....Northern Poland Greets You 😀❤️❤️❤️⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️
She does more HIT songs than anyone else. Not her fault the majority of the world under the crap spell of the madonna slags, Lupa, Adele, Swift etc. and all things in the same naff image and sound.
@@kyachdistent1301It's true.I gnew up on Kim's music. Her songs are a positive part of me.What matter's what's real and staing affter years into the future😀👍👍👍.Pozdrawiam.
I'm a massive fan of Kim's. My favourite hit by her is "you came" but love her version of "If I can't have you " also and "Never Trust trust a Stranger " and "keep me hanging on". I love this new song. You look amazing and as beautiful as ever..Good luck with the song. Xx
I do love it when Kim expresses her humanitarian side through her songs, we can all relate, but ofc Ricky is one hell of a songwriter/musician/producer, i think this is a great track. i saw Kim, Scarlett & Ricky live in Sunderland xmas time 2023, they were fantastic, kim's voice is still truly awesome so is Scarlett's, i was the very loud guy shouting out at Ricky in the crowd, he is the power behind KIm that's why they make the concerts a family affair i guess.
tears were pouring down my face about how much i miss the 80's pop scene and then i found this amazing fantastic new track from the wonderful 80's golden icon & immediately i felt the 80's uplifting mood again, Thankyou Kim you've made millions happy again !! 😃♥💖
Much faster than the album will be released. End of January. She having a laugh?! A bad one. I admit I get the deliberate delay but I also don't. All that for just 10 songs on the album! 7 years to make 10 three minute tunes.
Incredible, so many years after Cambodia, you came et so much more, you're voice is still the same. Closing eyes send me to my teenager ages when I was listening your song on my walkman ! And don't forget Laurent with "Les nuits sans Kim Wilde"...
Pity she doesn't use it more to dig past the top in her back catalogue and make her gigs more special. Setlist hardly ever changes, except the rare times a new album it out so some of the songs have to be done from it. Years later, they are forgotten bar one as the same old 8-10 songs, plus loads of pointless covers are set in 'Stone' again.
I’ve been following Kim since the kids in America video, and have always enjoyed her presence and vocals , it’s been a pleasure to see you still performing quality songs
I know, she takes deliberately years and years between albums. She must record one song every 6 months. And there's only 10 on it after all this wait, and no evidence of any bonus songs made at all. All those years just for10 songs-and I bet they're all 3 minute things as well. What's the betting the album's running 'time' is no longer than her 2006 and 2010 CDs?
@@just2comment2 How is a few normal statements about typical annoyances the Wilde camp now deal out since the (of-sorts) 2006 comeback being "negative all the time". Oh grow up. So pretending everything's great when it isn't is really useful, lol?
It sounds so good Kim, your brother is a master of synthesizer, mixing and mastering. I also work on two new songs and the hardest part is mixing. Love you Kim and your family forever and ever ❤
I just looked at her website and I can't believe all of the fantastic new vinyl releases of the fabulous Kim Wilde catalog that will be released in the upcoming months of 2024. I am a big vinyl collector and it's great to see that vinyl is very much alive in 2024❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
