When she was on her prime, you wouldn't even believe if she's real. She's like the best of the best. She's that asian girl who surprised the world. At the age of 33, still being compared to younger players like Bosco, Egonu and Zhu who are the new generation of Icons. Besides from Kim's exceptional skills, her attitude and personality is simply the best. No one can't deny the fact that she's one of the greatest volleyball player in the world. She's humble and very lovely. She's also a coach's favorite! Kim, truly one in a billion. Respect!

KIM YEONKOUNG showed why she's a player of a decade, or maybe in a century even. Coach Guidetti that leads Vakifbank and Turkish NT once said about Kim that "She scores like a diagonal, she receives, digs like a libero, she serves like a machine, she blocks like a middle blocker and what’s more important is that she gives incredible energy to her teammates. She is really something extraordinary." And Guidetti is right, she truly is! Kim makes miracles happen in and out of the court. She needs to be put on the hall of fame for carrying teams on her back.

I remember when Kim was invited to variety shows before since the 2012 olympics she would boast herself so that she can get support from the people of her country not just for her but for her team. When they won a gold medal in Asian games after 20 years they were only given a kimchi stew for dinner, so she took her teammates to a restaurant. And during the 2016 olympics they weren't even provided an interpreter so Kim has to translate herself. She has done a lot of things for her team, carrying team Korea on her back for the past 16 years. She's beyond amazing, and I RESPECT her for that, she's a LEGEND.

I once saw her play in person and it’s awesome, she can literally play almost all the position. She have a power and speed when spiking and she’s so good at spotting empty spaces. Her control of the ball is also insane, seeing it live is totally insane. Tbh i actually love to see her playing again abroad, like even though she’s not in her prime anymore she’s still competitive and good to play in another country.

When she came back to Korean volleyball league, she voluntarily reduced her salary around 80% asking her club to share the balance to her colleague players, bcz South Korea volleyball clubs don't have that much budget. Setting aside being an absolutely wonderful athlete, she's one of the great person. Respect!

I first watched her in the game vs the Philippines and since then I became a fan. She went to the Master's in the House (show in Korea) and the way she told about her life makes me love her more. A true queen and legend from spiking, blocking, receiving/ digging. A TRUE PHENOMENAL CAPTAIN

She’s really one of the best player in volleyball history, maybe the best. Anywhere she go, either playing in European league or Korean league, she delivered and work very hard to help her teammates. And I believe she trust her teammates so much that her team trust her to help them win the game. After all the scandal and the two main players of korea were unable to play for the national team, everyone have been underestimate Kim and her teammates. But this Tokyo Olympic, they prove everyone wrong by going far from what they expected being the non-favourite this year. Applause not only for Kim but also her team, coaches and staff as they never give up and always giving their best. Good luck for Olympic medal and I’ll always cheer for Kim and her team. She is really one in a billion, the one and only KIM YEON KOUNG.

Just happened to know that; When KYK was 21yrs old, she joined japanese league with highest salary among all Korean volleyball players, she donated 10% of her salary as volleyball scholarship. With her donation plus a corporate sponsorship, many of younger student volleyball players, who were not affordable economically, could keep playing volleyball. One of the students supported by this so called KYK scholarship is Park Jeongah (player number 13), and now she is making miracle with KYK in tokyo 2020 olympics. What a wonderful story of KYK 👏

As a guy from Korea, it's absolutely astonishing to see Captain KYK carrying this team on her back the past 10-15years. And even if you may see me as a biased person because I'm from Korea, I can say that she is the best all around player in the history of volleyball. By the way, many Koreans heard about the big fire at Turkey. We wish Turkey good luck and I swear you will get your medal you deserve at the Paris Olympics.

the reason why this team is so amazing is because currently two top players in their position are not playing. They were twins and the bullying they did in their teens was revealed and so could not participate in the olympics. Despite such obstacles, Kim led the team so far with amazing teamwork! I am so proud of her

South Korea was a contender for Bronze Medal way back London 2012 and KYK hailed as the MVP. Now, they're at it again. But who would settle for BRONZE when there's GOLD, right?! KYK's Tokyo 2020 performance deserves an MVP award. Deja vu.

Kim Yeong Koung is the BEST Player until now and no one can surface her ability in terms of playing volleyball..When her age(20's)she is like a machine that no one can take her attack and the speed of her spike is incredible..if you compare Vargas and Boskovich(whos in 20's) to Kim yeon koung(whos in 20's)..the can't beat Kim(her spike is so powerful and technique)unlike vargas(only the impact of spike but other than that is nothing)same as Boschovich(only the impact of spike)but when it comes to Kim(all aspect of technique,spike,speed,defense,etc..)that's why she is the MVP London Olympic 2012..and take note she is the MVP of Fenerbache and she is the reason why Fenerbache become the champion(first time to be a Champion holder because of KIM YEON KOUNG)and after that FENERBACHE become famous volleyball team until now and there's a lot of reason why KIM is the Best Volleyball player
