I love Total but I think 702 has more music. It would be a good battle. Both groups were relevant but were neither where the dominant girl groups back in the day so this verzuz makes the most sense
That would be a very good battle. 702 would win on songs alone. They have more hits. Not to mention Meelah can out sing all of Total (Kima has a nice voice too).

Total had a lot of songs/hits…Can’t You See/Can’t You Remix w/Keith Murray, No One Else, Kissing You/Kissing You Remix, Do You Think About Us, No One Else Remix, What About Us, Tripping, Sitting Home….their duets… Biggie (Juicy, Hypnotize, One More Chance Hip-Hop Remix), LL Cool J (Lounging Remix), Mase (What You Want), Tony Touch (I Wonder Why) , Gangstarr (Discipline), Mase (Stay Out My Way)…I could see them going up against SWV as the closet group to battle (yes SWV already went against Xscape)
lets just be real...total's success and relevance relied heavily on features. what song that was just them that was a real hit? they have missy, mase, ll cool j, da brat, timbaland, and the notorious BIG to thank for the songs that did pop. Only exception is Kissing You. Overall 702 was a better group vocally and song wise.... and when its time for Where My Girls At, what total gone do? And this coming from someone who liked Total, but we gotta call a spade a spade. 702 washes them. Period.
Can’t You See, Kissin You, No One Else, What About Us, Trippin, Sitting Home, I Wonder Why, Loungin Remix, I Can’t. Total will wash 702. Total was larger impact in R&B sound & created hella successful singles. While 702 does have many hits, TOTAL succeed them in each catalogue. 702 saw moderate success from their singles. But TOTAL was overall more impactful. 702 was a revamped SWV.

No!!! 702 came out in 96 with Steelo. The biggest song "Where my Girls at" is 1999. They barley were around in the 2000s. lol Also Changing Faces did have any equvilant hits to Total at all lol.

Some of these comments are insane! 702 would not "wash Total." I like 702, but let's be real, they had a few bops, and that's it. Get It Together is still one of my favorites, but Total was a whole vibe back then, song features and all. I love both groups, but let's not act like 702 was SWV, TLC, or Destiny's Child, and Total was just a one-hit wonder or something.
