My name is Kimberly Staudt. I am a board-certified internal medicine physician joining the Norton Community Medical Associates in Clarksville, Indiana. As an internal medicine physician, I'm trained to treat patients with medically complex conditions. So I wanted to become a physician ever since grade school. I had a really good science teacher that just opened up the world of biology and anatomy to me. And ever since then, I was hooked and wanted to become a physician. And I have loved every single moment of my career, helping people and helping them prevent diseases.
I practice evidence-based medicine. And so I'm always more than willing to sit down with a patient and talk about the medical guidelines behind why I'm treating them with certain medications or with a certain procedure. And I always like to take the time to really get to know my patients and get to know their families and what their goals in their healthcare are. And I also like to take the time to go over their labs and their medications and their plan of care a little bit more thoroughly to ensure that they always understand it.
So I am originally from La Grange, Kentucky, just outside of Louisville. I went to the University of Louisville School of Medicine. And just before medical school I actually joined the army and commissioned as a second lieutenant. After medical school, I did my internal medicine residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. And then I stayed on as staff there. And then for the past three years, I've actually been down at Fort Campbell, serving not only as an internal medicine physician, but also as the group physician for the 52nd Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit. And I had literally a blast there. And leaving both the military and the army was a very tough goodbye. But I'm very excited to be joining Norton.
For fun, I like to hang out with my husband. We like to do really nerdy things, like do board games and puzzles. And then we have three cats and a dog. And so sometimes we just like to hang out and watch movies with them.
