Thank you Laki for this video. This goes hand in hand with the "Kimbra's Wish" of course. But it does tell the incredible story of the idea and production. The close-ups of Kimbra are great. She is beautiful and fits so perfectly in the character. Thank you again Laki. And thank you and love you Kimbra. This is so sweet.
This is one of my favorite pieces of film. I've come back to Kimbra's Wish many times over the years and its always more lovely and perfect each time. Im interested in learning more about pretty much every aspect of the creation of this shirt film. is there any chance you've got an extended version of the behind-the-scenes video in your back pocket? I just want to be a fly on the wall and watch how every aspect of the project came together. Its so cool to see the live-action, new footage, meld and harmonize with the original, old, Disney animation. The editing process would be super exciting to watch. Specifically the reconciliation of the two different forms of visuals being fused together so beautifully. I also want to hear about the creative process of the makeup artist! I really enjoy learning how makeup is used to bring out certain traits of a character and its especially interesting to see the work of one makeup artist, design two different characters, both played by one actress. It really emphasizes the value of the makeup artist as an essential part of character development. AND costume's subtle addition of high-shine vinyl Doc Martens?! 😙👌 Brilliant! Last but not least, I'd want to hear about how the acting director and Kimbra absolutely nailed the choreography. The little idiosyncrasies of Snow Whites physical movements were so true to the original, I genuinely just had to look up if Deep Fake technology exsisted at the time this was made. The choreography here flawlessly mirrors the graceful motions of the animated character that Disney created. Well, thanks for posting this glimpse into the process of creating the beautiful little film. Please let me know if you ever put out more behind the scenes on this. Cheers! ❤️
Indeed, I'll get the ropes when I develop more experience, it sucks sometimes that college doesn't give you an alternative to develop you're creativity. It's all about research and practice indeed. Question by the way, how did they made the effect on Kimbra that she looked animated everytime she was moving?
+Raymond Sierra Hey there, great question! The original Disney movie was animated "on twos", which means that every frame holds for two frames and there are 12 total frames of animation per second, which adds up to the film standard of 24 frames per second. For the music video we shot at 24 fps, then put the footage on twos to match the animation. I hope this helps!
Ethan Burke that's so genius ! ! I might ask my professor to make a test of that, for a motion test !! Man thank you for the explaining this wonderful concept. I hope keep getting there to join a wonderful crew like you had Laki Karavias !
+Raymond Sierra Love your passion Raymond. :) We are still all learning each and every day. Keep taking opportunities to grow in skill, connect with other passionate creative people and always take the time to have fun with your craft. You will go far. Cheers!!
I am finding it weird the main video got sent to RU-vid kids prison. I can't comment anymore it used to be open. I wanted to see what people were saying. I guess this is close. I really like the video and it's so cute.
