Kat Langdon Is this really live though? From 1:40 to 1:53 it keeps switching between her holding the mic, then it's in the stand, and holding it again? Sounds live but probably a few takes and the video are stitched together?
@@Lundy.Fastnet.Irish_Sea i mean, does it matter? kat langdon's point was; literally everywhere you look, she records this song differently. the start is always different
I would guess all of them ;) Might be the first artist ever that I prefer live over album. Personally I thought the album was way over-produced. That may be why she just didn't really catch on in the US. Most ppl go to the 'official videos' when they check someone out. And if you watch the 'official' cameo lover vid, it's like a completely different artist than the singsing video of the same song. I think if more ppl knew how good she really is, she would be a household name.
Rusty Shackleford I agree Rusty, if you heard some of the official videos it sounds like a different song completely. The exception to this is probably "Come into my head", that track sounds great live and on the official release. I hope she releases a live album, or even the "Sing Sing Studio" sessions.
I was 12 listening to this every day. This and all her Music I was OBSESSED. 13 years later this is still a bop. KIMBRA you will always be THAT GIRL ❤️
How could anyone dislike this?? This woman is fucking amazing. Her voice is so gritty, jazzy, and soulful. It's circa 1920's yet also 2014. I heard her for the first time tonight and I am in love.
I've come back to these performances consistently for the past 3 years. I'll probably catch a lot of flack for this, but I found listening to her album after these performances to be a bit disappointing. The production value on the album is slightly over the top for my liking. The passion in these performances is unparalleled to most artists nowadays. I'd love for an entire Kimbra album in the more minimalist and stripped down style presented in these videos. Either way, glad to see a truly talented young artist in the music industry. She's truly a diamond in the rough.
Joplin was famous for pretty much being able to do the same song the same way (but sometimes she varied it). It is great to me, that Kimbra has so many DIFFERENT versions of each song. Two greats, emotive, brilliant, but very different in this way.
I wonder how many of these views are from the SAME people who jump from Kimbra to Kimbra video just to see her sing more cause you just can't seem to get enough of her zesty personality and perfect voice
Her music videos are awesome. Her studio versions are even more amazing. If I were to watch her live, you would probably find me on the floor convulsing with sheer ecstacy.
Being from New Orleans I can appreciate and highly enjoy the funky jazzy swagger she shows here and there in her dance moves and always in her singing. That little shoulder shimmy when the beat first breaks down and when she grabs her dress and sways it side to side like a showgirl back in the day. Beautiful performance
one of my favourite singers on YT and highly under rated. people are users, they just listen, just watch and eat products, but they never ask themselves where all this coming from, who create it, who build it.... who cook it. shame! you are one of the best, dear! very long time ago I heard SIA and Academia, and I thought some day she will be huge star and.... I believe in you my dear Kimbra, soon you will be on top!
THIS IS THE NEW WONDERFUL WOMAN SHE IS THE MOST TALENTED SINGERSONGWRITER I KNOW, WHAT A PASSION IN HER PERFORMANCES SHE IS REALLY BRILLIANT AND AMAZING. LOVE KIMBRA. CAN YOU TELL ME WHY IS SHE NOT MORE FAMOUS, ALL THE WORLD MUST TO KNOW HER TALENT.
The way she moves! She's so into it, and honestly its contagious. Which is hard to pull off through a screen, yet somehow its accomplished, quite thoroughly at that!
I found Kimbra on a late night talk show. I am only sorry I did not find Her sooner. Very few artist's can draw You in and capture You for a lifetime instantly. Her talent is only surpassed by Her beauty. I am Rock and Roll Led Zep from square one but I am taken with Kimbra and Her sound. Simply amazing.
I am so completely obsessed with Kimbra! She has, hands down, the best voice I have ever heard. Totally love 1:13 - 1:20! It's just an explosion of vocals!
I never caught the lyrics or knew what the song was about at first listen, I was taken by her unique vocal arrangement with lively presentation and great voice. I can now enjoy and appreciate Kimbra completely, so pretty and so talented!
Agreed - she also doesn't deserve comparison to any another artist she and her style is unique, I hope she never loses her creative self to a record company for an album-a-year deal!
this girl has so much soul and passion in her own music and that is what makes a great artist. her sound in sing sing sound alot better than her videos.
I wanna settle down I wanna settle down Won't you settle down with me? Settle down We can settle at a table A table for two Won't you wine and dine with me?
