I love Kanazawa, I've been twice, definetily one of the most underrated places in Japan, with the arrival of new shinkansen the city is becoming more popular but when I went there the first time at around 2013 there were not so many tourists, glad to know that the shinkansen helped boost Kanazawa as a tourist destination.

I would like to Kanazawa one day. Before this video, I didn't even notice this amazing place with so much art and history! I would definitely like to wear a kimono and experience the Japan in the traditional way!

I went to Japan a couple weeks ago and didn't know hardly any Japanese while I was there or know much about it prior to going. After leaving I've been totally inspired by my entire experience there. Everything was amazing, right down to the old guys sweeping their sidewalks in the morning. I loved the pride and care that people took to maintain the communities that I visited. I hope that I can move there, for sure going to go back at the very least. Also Kamakura was the most amazing place I'd ever been in my life. Totally unrelated to this video, but I see in the corner of my screen you have a video there so I'll be watching that next.

Hi Chika, thanks for your videos! I am traveling Japan in a few months and I have just added Kanazawa to my list of places to go. I am trying to familiarize myself with the Japanese language but I am concerned about not being able to communicate, especially in restaurants. I want to be able to ask (in Japanese) the server/chef/bartender what he/she recommends. Is this common to ask in restaurants? I imagine the phrase can vary depending on who you speak to or the setting. ありがとうございます! Congratulations on a great channel.

Do you think I can eat a Nodoguro fish in Matsue when I am there in May? Or is it really only Kanazawa?

+vangrails if it's a major fish market they should have it even if it's not in Kanazawa, but at restaurants, I feel like it's quite rare.
