Can’t be easy doing these after so many bad results. Top man. Feel so sorry for the lads and Danny. The better team (11v11) lost. We weren’t perfect, and could/should have been out of sight. But we were comfortable and couldn’t cope when the ref made it 10v12. Thanks as ever.
I hadn't seen the "winning" goal until just now...😮...im off to Tescos to do a big shop to wind myself up even more!! All Owls fans know the "itll even itself out over the season" rule never applies! Keep at it lads im impressed with the performances the last 2 weeks - heads mustn't go down!!
"It'll even itself out over the season" is one of the biggest myths in football, it's spun by teams and journalists who are happy with the decision going they way they want. And people who want to defend incompetent and unaccountable refs. It's utter bobbins.
Hi Jim. A solid performance and a dysfunctional referee. I think, and hope, the team will take strength from this. I love the reaction from our fans at the end. Luton knew they had cheated us! The way I see it is that they are playing well as a team and it will come. I like the Hendersons shirt btw ❤
Alright mate thought we played really well yesterday until a shoulder peno robbed us and then a blatant handball for their 2nd ref was shocking for both teams yesterday
When the ball was cleared off the line i shouted out " it was his fecking shoulder" then after realising the ref gave it my heart sank cos i knew Bernard would be off . Before the pen i thought we were generally in control and were the more likely team to score the next goal . Still this is all part of being a Wednesday fan , we have isolated times of joy in an otherwise depressing 25 odd years .
Hope you are well Jim so pissed off with these results...We have no luck ffs Jim..Things need to turn around sooner rather than later I have faith in this team Danny will turn things around .We just need to stay positive long way to go ..Traveling from Ireland to my first game in 44 years next Saturday I'm foooking dreading it 😦
@@sheffcam4960 true but if we were a bit more clinical in both games then wanky refs wouldn’t have been an issue, we really need to start burying the chances we create and it’s coming I’m sure of it!
You truly are the voice that articulates the vast majority of Wednesdayites’ feelings. We’ll go on a run soon; we’ve played too well the past couple of weeks to keep suffering this way. Thanks for your review, as ever. ⚽️💙🤍
Adam Oxley said in commentary that a good ref you don't see, and his experience of this ref you know he's there. I thought he was terrible for Luton first half and even worse for us the second. That said - we need to score more when we're on top and start defending properly. Luton only looked a threat from set pieces and prior to the penalty we gave 3 needless free kicks away within the space of about 5 minutes. Top analysis, albeit another frustrating result again.
Morning Jim, Thanks for your review and totally agree with your comments. Have just watched back that horror show of a performance by the ref. Seen some shocking decisions over the years and today's are up there with the best of them. Not only does it deny us 3 points, it also means that we now have a player suspended for a possible 3 games, unless we appeal this awful decision. Coupled with last week's nonsense against QPR, the EFL have got to do something about the referee standard. I've watched some Non League matches recently and thought the ref standard was poor, but this was different level today. I know they have a difficult job to do, but when so much rides on their decision making, it has to be so much better than it is at the moment. We move on and look forward to WBA at the weekend, and hope the lads can put in a top class performance and get that elusive win we desperately need, and you never know the winner from us could be from the penalty spot!. Have a good week. Phil
To be fair to the referees, I think they are bogged down these days with the constant tinkering with the laws of the game and more importantly - how they are applied. Leaves zero room for common sense.
Thought you held it together well, exactly what I thought. I could have thrown myself on the floor kicking and screaming like a toddler 😂 So frustrating. Can’t fault the lads it’s there! they have it, but we need a level platform and then momentum. It will come, it’s just shutting the moaners up.
Yeah, sadly despite the really good performance levels, and us looking a lot better with the new shape there will be one or two short fused folks looking to turn it on the manager, sadly. Been bloody robbed of 5 points in the last two games. Performances have deserved so much more than this.
We played really well yesterday, as you say we looked comfortable for long periods. Unfortunately we ended up losing again. And next up are a team that we are expected to lose to. We desperately need three points from somewhere in order to stop the rot. Another good summary pal 👍
Gutted for the lads. Thought they looked comfortable for 75 minutes. Would have been nice to get some points on board before this run of toughie. Performance a definite step in right direction.
Need VAR in Championship - this result would have been very dfferent (and maybe the QPR one too). I only wonder if the ref somehow didn't see the shoulder and the hand ball in the melee.
I knew that ref was going to be trouble… you get a vibe for these things after watching nearly five decades of them I guess. He was clearly out of his depth, made loads of silly calls in the first half that wound up Luton, and settled up the account in the second half by giving that pen and the red. Not giving the handball for their goal can only be put down to incompetence. Shocking and bloody typical.
Bloody hell !!!!! I don't like to pile on refs, I played the game etc but those were 2 of the worst decisions I've seen. Compounded by the rugby union maul against QPR, stay calm, stay calm.
Don't forget thecguiness handball as well,he handballed it Infront of the ref and the ref gave a corner instead! Clearest handball I've seen ever and yet again nothing given to us! Plus there was the high foot on windass too not given! I thought league one was bad for refereeing it's even worse in the championship
Thanks for filling in the details, I was away for the day but my wife watched the stats which validated what she was thinking. If you've any contact at the club, tell Danny to keep the faith.
Dog sick after QPR and then being robbed by inadequate officiating. Luton’s fans horrible moaning at ref on every challenge and he submitted to them. A large area from the top shoulder down about 6 inch is not hand ball. We seem to have bias refs every other game.
I really don't understand why we never seem to get referee decisions. Feels like a conspiracy. Wounded. Especially because we have some hard games ahead.
Yeah some real toughies on the horizon. Would have been nice having some points going into em. Lads have been robbed of 5 pts in 10 days that would have been a useful (and deserved) buffer
Unfortunately it is the same old issues - poor finishing and an inability to defend a lead. Certainly the ref didn’t help us but if we were scoring more he would have been taken out of the equation.
Same old story playing against 14 men ...that's 5pts in two weeks robbed which would have seen us in the top 10 ...we are now 3rd from bottom with top of the table WBA coming up without flip flops on this time ...ffs 🙄
Hi mate it makes me sick y do all the ref do us over he rob us by 3 points was like to day my son played Blackpool we won 7-3 but my lad just didn’t happen for him did my head ryt in but on to the next wawaw
this manager has to resign nothing is getting better he's responsible for bringing these failed players into the club. he doesn't even know what quality players are we will be going south. this great club is finished.
@@colinmannion6999 that means relegation does it don't you realise nothing is getting better only worse when we lose again against West brom what are you going to say then.
@@markbrewin2728 piggy alert Wednesday lost again warning they are going down after 11 new players who is responsible for bringing these failed players in plus spending 3 million on a striker that hasn't scored a goal yet.
