Yes, it's still a suckling. The mother won't be able to find it. Should have been taken to a rescue centre.

He seems to be nowhere near a rescue center for one, two he was too tired to even go any further with the deer, that's the best he could do there. He could have swam for soo long before this , he could be like an hour away from his car , none of yall not I can swim for an hour while holding a deer now

@@allansherin9565,He was in some type of boat thing ,and I don’t care how tired I would be ,I wouldn’t leave it there to die with out the mother ,you can only hope now that the mother can get to her baby ,but I think he’s on the other side and the mother probably already abandoned it knowing she can’t get to him :( ,his only hope now is God 🙏

The moms DO leave their babies so they can graze. The Mom will come back & look for her baby.

Mothers will leave the fawn alone for hours to forage. Chances are she is still around somewhere, and will return.

@@qwipperty Yes, I know this. But he doesn't know that and where he put the fawn is on his or her own. Listen, I am well well versed when it comes to animals. I love animals so much and watch nat geo wild all the time plus other shows on animals so do not insult me as if I know nothing of what I speak. It only takes a second, if a predator smells the fawn because of a wind shift or something else it is over. But I am sure that you never thought of that huh

Maybe he (the rescuer) could have contacted a wildlife farm where the fawn would be raised until old enough (about six months, I think) to survive in the wild on its own.

I know my thought exactly. If you know the baby has fell down it’s more than likely is injured and instead of leaving it to be eaten by coyotes he should have taken it home with him like most rescuers would have done. It hwas kind that he tried to help but there for a second I thought he was going to drop his phone in the water cause he couldn’t decide if he should keep recording I guess. I was yelling at the video telling him to put the damn phone down and help the thing. Poor thing was so scared and all he could think of was to leave the animal behind injured? Don’t get me wrong as it was nice of him to try to save the animal but I think he could have done a lot more. Poor thing.

@@amberwinegardner3341 I think some of these "deer rescue" posting are legitimate and some are set up. I think this one was set up. From what I've read and learned, when you find a fawn by itself, you're supposed to leave it where it is or place it where you think the mother will find it. (The mother is out finding food. The baby is left in a safe hiding place.) And if the mother can be presumed to be dead, you take the fawn to some sort of wildlife refuge, where it is raised to self-sufficient young adulthood and then returned to the wild, presumably in the area where it was found. I think this video is set up to get attention and get views and comments. They might have even placed the fawn where they claimed to have found it.

The fawn wasn't rescued. He just moved it from one bad location to another. Ge was too worried about filming instead of taking it to a wildlife center. The foal will die anyway.

@caryladams7038 That is true, it looks like it's still feeding from the mother. Don't know if it will make it's way to reunite with the mom, or how it will survive if it doesn't. I guess it's a little bit better than drowning. I hope it survives everything. Nature is beautiful but cruel at times.

He didnt save her. He just moved her from bad spot to another. He was too concerned about making a YT video.

Good question. Answer: Many of these deer rescues are set up to simply be recorded, posted on social media, get lots of views, and make money for someone.

You may have noticed he was not in a boat. He was piloting a fisherman's tube which is propelled by foot. You can see his flippers flipping about under the waters' surface

I don’t think he was alone because in the beginning someone was recording behind him recording.

If you rescue a fawn, there is a procedure, according to knowledgeable commenters. You leave the fawn where you find it, since the mother will return for it. (The fawn falling 50 feet down a gorge and still being well enough to scramble around seems unlikely.) If the people in the small boat got themselves out onto that bay, then they certainly had a way to get back to dry land nearby, wherever it was they put the boat into the water. The narration tries to convince the viewer that there was no way out for the boat. The "rescuers" could have taken the fawn with them to their point of entry and returned it to the spot from which it had likely fallen, where the mother was likely to be found. This is a contrived "deer rescue" for the sake of views and revenue.

He's paddling with his feet , he was way too tired to even go any further than that , so he let him go there and hope for the best...but oh well, blame him for even trying, should have let the deer stay there itself , that is better than doing anything aftwrall

The rehabilitation center would have said “put it back in the wild, so its mother can find it.” For all the people in this comment section, you sound like you don’t know much about deer. The does leave their fawns hidden all day while they find food. They come back and collect them at night to feed and shelter them. They will look and listen for their fawns if they have left their hiding spot. Also their hind legs look very disjointed when they are young, it doesn’t mean they are broken! He definitely saved it from a certain death in the water, and now at least it has a chance to find its mother. It also looked as if he was too tired to keep holding on to the struggling fawn, and had to get it on land asap! There’s not much else he could have done, because it’s illegal to keep wild animals in the US.

The mother always leaves to find food and comes back, so many people mistake the babies for being abandoned and grab them and then the warden might let you take care of it (if they find out) a few weeks then maybe go to somewhere to finish growing up enough if it's lucky, to be released or just killed, I know, my brother did this and I took care of it for 2 months, anyways it's best to leave them close to where you found them because THE MOTHER WILL BE BACK.

The bambi was eating grass. It is still in the general area the mother left it in. The mother will be able to find her baby.
