Glad to see that KL has made Kindergarten Cop look brand new with its 4K transfer. Blows the dated Blu-rays out of the water. Looks like if it was brand new back in 1990 during its theatrical run.

You have me sold on the Conan Chronicles box set! I love both Conan films, so I put in a pre-sale order on it after watching your review. I hope someone reissues Total Recall in 4k UHD again as it goes in and out of print frequently and doesn't seem to be available again. Thanks for the great review of all four of these four 4k film releases. I look forward to watching those two Conan films as soon as I receive them from Amazon. I look forward to more of your videos. I pre-ordered the Conan Chronicles 4k on Amazon when the pre-order went up. Unfortunately, it won't ship till 2/20. But, I'm very excited to finally get it. I can't wait to see the new 4k upgrade and, especially, hear the new Atmos soundtrack. Also can't wait to be hear Basil Puuledouris' score on my Atmos system.

Kindergarten COP is really a WOW release! Didn't thought it would be that good tbh. KL did a absolute amazing job 😯😀 I'm not a fan of the other movies, already saw them a long time ago & don't really have interest of rewatching them. Excellent video, as always 😁

I was really close to getting the Conan Chronicles set but at the last minute got them individually. It was $25 more getting them that way, however I really like the packaging. Also, since I have yet to upgrade to 4K, I got the blu ray Arrow releases. Just got an email that they are shipped heading my way.🕺😎

im dying for a boutique company to aquire the rights to 28 Days Later and remaster it in 4k. the rights holder is basically holding it hostage and it needs a 4k remaster badly. nowhere to watch it. too much to buy it 2nd hand.

I finally had a chance to watch my copy of Conan The Barbarian 4K UHD from Arrow, wow it does look and sound amazing! I love the Atmos track included in this, a whole new way to enjoy this film. There's just one shot in the movie that I guess can't be fixed, during village raid early on, when Thulsa Doom and his two bodyguards are standing there facing the camera, in the cold haze, there's a fingerprint or something on the lens it looks like, there's like these wavy lines that are so distracting. Do you know any info on this part of the print?

💥I answered this previously in-depth in another comment, here is my FULL answer:⤵️⤵️ 🚨 So to answer, it’s really depending on the 4K UltraHD💿 Blu Ray player model, but for several different models if you try pressing one of these buttons on your remote several times in a row, either the disc menu, enter, skip or play buttons before the disc fully reads & loads the region lock code & it can bypass soft region locks on Blu Ray discs!! 💥So first you need to have the Blu Ray disc ejected first & then close the tray & the second it closes the tray & starts reading the Blu Ray disc you need to immediately start pressing one of those buttons I listed above repeatedly once you discover which of those buttons overrides it for your player then you just use the same button & formula each time you put a region locked Blu Ray disc in!!👌 Though there is one huge exception & it is that ALL SONY 4K UltraHD & Blu Ray Players NEVER work with overriding region codes due to specifically how they are manufactured!! Hopefully this all helps!!👍

I just watched my DVDs of the complete quest. I think they look great. It was grittier, dirtier. I'm sitting out the 4K revolution. A lot of the stuff I like wasn't filmed in HD. The Godfather DVDs look better than the 4Ks by a long shot. And then there is the price.

Not sure I’d say the criticism about the grain inconsistency is entirely fair. I’d suspect it due to differences in the original film stocks used from one scene to another, not to anything done in the restoration

The remakes were made under their 20th Century Studios label and still has the rights to Disney. If either Criterion or Disney went back and collaborate again like they did to rerelease a 4K Dolby Vision version of WALL•E, maybe they’ll release them on 4K with either HDR10 only or Dolby Vision. Maybe do an Atmos upgrade to heighten the atmospheric senses and tone to the movie.

You "SHOULD" also review the new Arrow Re-mastered Conan "Blu-ray" boxed-set that might NOT have the problems the new Conan 4k release has.

You tout the Atmos sound mix, but for Conan the Barbarian, it is a known fact that it is partly based on the NBC/Universal 5.1 mix, which unfortunately did not preserve the proper balance of musical sounds that was present in the original mono. For example, in the scene where Conan is practicing with his sword after recovering, the beautiful soaring chorus that accompanies it is significantly reduced in level compared to the original mono. Basil Poledouris wrote the score of a lifetime for this film. It's magnificent, one of the greatest film scores ever written. There is NO other film score that's so integral to to the film it was written for, so vital to the very fabric of the images and the emotions that are conveyed. To mangle it as was done for the Atmos mix is unacceptable for many, including me. Therefore, I will ONLY listen to the mono track, Atmos be damned.

Wait a minute, are you not aware of the disaster of the prior Conan remix that has been used since the days of DVD? If that remix is the basis of the Dolby Atmos mix, then we have a complete FUBAR here. All the more tragic because it likely means that it will never be fixed. Never, ever. Film grain is NORMAL. Especially on films of this era where they used high-speed film stock. That means varying degrees of grain depending upon how much light was used. “Fixing” that would mean erasing grain, and therefore erasing detail.

🙄SMH!!! 🤨So by your comments you must be new to my channel & you actually need to watch the FULL review before trying to act falsely indignant because I very clearly explained & covered in-depth about all the different RESTORED ORIGINAL audio mixes & how good they were inside this video in addition to my personal preference, you just needed to actually watch the full review to be able to clearly understand everything!!!🤦‍♂️ Secondly, Yes as I have ALWAYS clearly explained that film grain is “NORMAL”🙄 & I have always covered in-depth all the details of the types & levels of NATURAL film grain in films to clearly help educate everyone including the thousands of new collectors who are ONLY used to DIGITAL looking films so that they can clearly get an understanding of what they will be seeing when they buy & watch any of these great 4K restorations!! 💥FYI: next time when you watch a in-depth review video you should definitely try watching the full thing & paying better attention & you would actually learn something for your benefit‼️👌😉 WOW!!!🤨
