Thanks all for your questions , I'll be putting together another video soon that answers some of your questions. Done around 2000km now, including completing the hunt1000 in March. I wont say much now however, this hub get better and quieter the more the planetary gears bed in.
Great video! I like the way you think about the shifting! I just got my Kindernay and am working through setting it up. Got some issues, but will work through them. Trying a Gates belt drive also, so that is new. I am getting some rubbing on the Kindernay rotor against the Shimano brake caliper body in vertical plane. Got to look into that a bit more. Seems to be a few more kinks than usual to work out, but I am sure once I get them sorted, it will be a great setup. I am setting this up on a Salsa Fargo.
Thanks for the video. Would be great if you could do a review of how well it shifts, noise, gear ratios etc What do you think about the changing out of the hub to another wheel and the fitting of the hub to the frame to stop it turning.
I'm interested in the answer to this question too. Delivery time and price. I want an igh for my mtb, keen on the Kindernay, with a thru axle vs Rolhoff.
Great review! Little question with the gear indexing like you done by hand. Does the gear mechanism keep rotating through the gears say 12 o'clock 1st, 6 o'clock 7th or does it rotate then recenter? Thanks in advance.
Hi Charlie, thanks for your comments/feedback. The gear mechanism/shaft rotates 13 clicks clockwise and anti clickwise. simulating 14 gears of engagement
Need to be able to install the gates drive belt, either with a split in the stays or dropouts. There are some other brands of splittable belts , however I don’t have any experience with them
I’d say it works better with a boost thru axle system. Shifting takes some adjustment to get used to. Easy to run two sets of wheels. Louder noise from hub may bother some people
