No more vampires, no more trials hunger games, no more evil kings, ho more houses or courts, no more lost princess, no more romantic partner with 6 '9" tall, black hair and purple/black/ambar/deepasocean eyes, love triangle. Did i forgot something?
The only good vampire media right now is What We Do In The Shadows, the vampires turn into bats, wear old fashioned clothes and are silly. That’s what vampires are supposed to be
The last two people I mentioned Kindle Unlimited to were like, "Kindle Unlimited?! Do you get to read ALL the Kindle books? That's awesome!" And I'm like, "...No. The name is very misleading." Lol, not only is the selection fairly limited, but you're also limited to borrowing 20 books at a time. So now I'm pissed.
As a writer I definitely agree: please give yourself some time to think about the book (even if you are a pantser), so that the plot and the world are without holes and the characters become memorable and not just cardboard cutouts. And please give the language some thought; purple prose is all well and good - if you can pull it off properly, which most writers can't! And millennial slang will most likely not work in a fantasy setting! Come on writers! Put some effort into the stuff you publish, or Sophie is going to roast the shit out of your books 😁
immortal = lives forever invincible = cannot be killed (it's a huge pet peeve of mine when authors don't use this correctly, sincerely, a writer.) 1:00:03 okay owl. "who who" IM KIDDING I LOVE YOU
Completely unrelated, but about that one side character called Mische: So in an actual good sci-fi book there is this badass cyborg super soldier lady finding herself outside of the purpose her AI-god created her for and falling in love with a human woman - named the german word for stove ("Herd"). I love her, but her name is so hilarious
I read this series cause I was such a big fan of the daughter of No worlds series, but this was such a disappointment! ☹️ It felt really underdeveloped. The daughter of No worlds books were so complex (plot, characters, motivations, etc) but this was just so nothing. I think if she gave more time before the competitions started to get the audience to sympathize with oraya more, then it would have had a bigger emotional impact. Honestly, reading this I thought it must have been her first book bc it was so much less well written than Daughter of No Worlds (then I saw it was newer and was like ??), but hearing you say the 6 week thing makes sense. I hope she drops that model of publishing because she has SUCH talent when she gives herself the time to fully flesh out characters and plots… She herself seems to prefer the daughter of No worlds series over this one. Anyway, love your review as always 😊
No one does long ass titles like Sarah j Maas. It’s ridiculous to me at this point. I’ve only watched the beginning of your review. I can understand why you would find it boring but I really liked the concept of a human being raised by an adoptive vampire father and the grumpy - sunshine-ish trope. But one thing I hated was the ‘ there she is’ and the detailed exposition about nyaxia and the other gods. Didn’t care about that. I rated this book 4 stars because with twilight being the last vampire book I read, oraya is a better MC than Bella 😂. Anyway let me continue watching your review, I’m sure I’ll have more to say after 😅
