These cameras are something else. I chose the URSA Mini over this because the repair times I thought would be quicker, not really it seems. Things I want from this over my current set-up is better ISO range (URSA Mini's max is 400), better dynamic range (URSA Mini is already damn great!), full frame is a plus I guess lol (never owned a full frame camera but I run all full frame lenses. I work with REDs a lot with my weekday job and I can tell you they are not worth the price! The image is impressive but the URSA Mini is actually much closer than one would think as far as quality goes. The URSA Mini 4K is better than the Raven in many ways! From what I've seen of this camera the low light isn't much worse than the RED Gemini 5K (speaking from experience with the Gemini).
Jose, or team. Do you speak Spanish? Wanted to ask hows doing with the camera. Im thinking to adquire one for our next proyect. Do you still thinking is this a good choice because price factor? Workflow?? Im came from Media Composer to use Edius right now. Best Vibes!
its still not cheap, as a red owner, knowing ill get good option to upgrade my camera in the future, send the camera to repair if needed, constant updates to software and most important- safe feeling that you buy something that will last for a long time for sure. this 6k camera looks amazing, but i wouldn't pay this amount on a Chinese product that i can't send to repair no matter where i am in the world. and no one will hire you to shoot on a real production when you own this camera, its still unknown and every good producer will choose a red\alexa over it. i would stick to red\alexa to who ever wants to earn money in this industry, and if you are indie filmmaker go for the URSA Pro.
@@Fuzzmistro I absolutely love it. I couldn't afford the mavo's either, so I went with the Terra. Don't regret it at all. The image is beautiful, the camera is solid. The new firmware gives so many good slo mo options! One day I will get a Mavo LF to add to the crew tho, but until then, I love the terra.
Great review, guys!!! I am definitely NO LONGER buying a RED camera!! Instead, I am buying the TERRA 4K and the MAVO LF!!! It is no brainer...soooo much more I get for my $$$ =) !!!!!!!!! - LOVE THE QUALITY OF THE IMAGE!! Thanks again for this review!
What I'd like to know is when are cameras going to start adding lock codes so no one can access your footage? That way if someone steals your camera or cards or it get confiscate by some overzealous law enforcement that violates your constitutional rights. At least no one can access your footage without your permission. Cell phone, tablets, and computer all have this advantage over conventional cameras. It many not be a perfect solution, but between a camera lock and a card code it would certainly be a lot less easy to acquire your footage. As to the color science, I'm not a big fan. Although there's nothing inherently bad about it, its still not as good as footage from the Alexa or even Canon which is much warmer and a bit more organic in its graduations.

I love the image but I tested a Mavo LF a few weeks ago and found the rolling shutter to be pretty extreme. I'd be interested to see more footage where the camera is in motion. I think its an awesome camera and the price point is amazing but I'd be wary of investing in it as a work horse. For static beauty shots its incredible though! Don't mean to piss on your parade with a negative comment. Just my experience with it so far. Congratulations on your purchase, I hope it serves you well and look forward to seeing what you create with it :-)
I’m noticing the same. When the camera is still or on tripod it’s probably one of the best image I ever seen. But, when the camera is in motion it seems the image falls apart
