I think it's ca'ching $$$ which is what Kinera is hearing with the Wyvern series. Almost positive KZ uses the same drivers in all price ranges, including Hydro.
@@Jaytiss ugh just about to post a super long reply when my app crashed. So short answer is yep. Lol. Our ear anatomy also significantly impacts what we hear. My left up picks up highs beautifully, my right, unfortunately, not so much. Stuff you learn in this hobby of you become OCD 🤔 also getting a plastic IEM to sound exactly like metal is probably impossible and frustrating AF. Lol. A metal faceplate with plastic/resin back is the most versatile for me to mod. I thought ZVX would be easy to mod to Delci since it starts in the ballpark... Maybe it's the driver but I think it's mostly sound bouncing off thick metal that's making it difficult to exactly match, as an amateur at least 🤣
Hopefully, this is better than the Wyvern Abyss in the upper mids/lower treble. The Wyvern Abyss came across as extremely grainy to my ears. The mid-bass being non-existent made the graininess even worse. Kinera loves them some recessed mids and boosted upper mids.
Get some Tanya filters 😊 also m micropore tape. Amazing the changes these 2 cheap/easy fixes can make. The drivers these days are better than people think. It's - usually - lazy tuning that keeps the price down in my experience. Tuning is time consuming, especially making something that will appeal to masses. QC is also time consuming.
