Good video. Will try it for an old sprain injury . Upon occasion foot becomes weak and swollen. Will try this while building back strength. Thank you. God bless.
I cut them myself, the different colours aren't needed. As all tapes are the same regardless of colour. I prefer a single colour when I tape. It then doesn't look too tacky.
I cant see you emphasised that the joint should be in. 90 Degrees and or in neutral position dorsiflexion or so… For example: supination composed of three components: subtalar inversion, ankle plantarflexion, and forefoot adduction, these three distinct motions of the foot occur simultaneously during the supination phase. if the foot injury is in supination you should encourage adduction and eversion plus dorsiflexion! Instability in pronation will demand a differnt position . Also One must be careful with a bandage around the ankle in a cylindrical shape for fear of stopping lymph or blood. Therefore, it is also important to specify the stretch percentage! or give an alternative technique. ❤
Thank you, thank you! Was about to reach for another painkiller but not needed now - and I’m up and about doing housework. This worked way better for me than other kinesiology techniques.
I’ve tried several other ways of taping that have done very little. I landed from a jump earlier this week and went down hard, making my already weak ankle even worse. I have a taekwondo test tonight and was panicking because I could no longer balance on that leg for more than a second or two. I’ve just taped the way you showed and I can balance on the leg while kicking with the other, pivot, everything. I know I need to go back to physical therapy (again....) but I’ve worked so hard for tonight. Thank you so much.
This looks like a good application to stabilise an ankle, especially if you are a runner and don't want the ends of the tape to finish within your shoe and risk coming unstuck during a race. Thanks
