Since 2012, artist Damien Beneteau has been creating "Variations", a series of artworks that convert the intangible forces that govern our universe into tangible expressions, capturing both the passage of time and the cyclic nature of the cosmos. Each kinetic sculpture is initiated by a pendulum motion, as a ball traverses a perforated plate at regular intervals, perpendicular to its oscillation plane.
Illuminated along its inner edge, the each piece casts enchanting shadows and lights, capturing the viewer's attention and eliciting a semi-hypnotic state.
