Kinetic sculpture at the BMW Museum (audio swap)

One of my fav kinetic sculpture! With or without music, this installation is beautiful!

This is an amazing piece of art combined with technology. It tells a story of the history of how auto design has changed from the early 30s and onto today.

i spoke to the project manager of this project. this took ALOT of work, its really not as easy as u may think. there wasnt a program who can do this, they had to use a brand new program. i personally love this. its a new form of art from engineering. surprising that the string holding each sphere is actually GREEN fishing string... yep, green...

No its not computer controlled. After the opening of the olympic games in Beijing, BMW hired 800 chinese synchroto puppeteers which are all pulling the strings of these balls from the upper level. Its magnificient! You can see it at 4:08

It's easy to implement and it is so cool to watch. That's genius.

A instalação "mecatrônica" é composta por 714 bolas de metal presas por finas cordas, quase invisíveis, que traduzem em formas tridimensionais alguns dos designs clássicos da marca alemã.

@thefrub didn't mean it was photo shopped or fake at all I meant the the programming that went into this for the motors and stuff to set the balls at specific heights
