This is such an underrated movie, I’ve seen it about 5 times now.. The Last Legend gives this story a different angle but also a must watch if your a fan of this epic story. Unfortunately America has lost what this story signifies, love of country, friendship, hardship, loyalty, freedom and bravery… God help is if we have to go into another War. Some things are worth fighting and dying for.
Plus he's a super humble and cool guy ! By the way, if you have the chance, go see him in concert, one of the best time of my life (i didn't expect how it went at all)
Hearing this music of Zimmer makes me feel like there's hope for mankind. Like a cry that shouts out loud hope for a better life can prevail despite the terrible odds.
Hans Zimmer-"Originally I had this idea that it should be possible to create some kind of community around this kind of work, and I think by muddying the titles - not having "you are the composer, you are the arranger, you are the orchestrator" - it just sort of helped us to work more collaboratively. It wasn't that important to me that I had "score by Hans Zimmer" and took sole credit on these things. It's like Gladiator: I gave Lisa Gerrard the co-credit because, even though she didn't write the main theme, her presence and contributions were very influential. She was more than just a soloist, and this is why I have such a problem with specific credits. I will Miss Him dearly
For the people don't serve the King, the King serves the people. One reason why he was a great King and leader. History will always remember him as a Legend that never dies. Warriors stand together as one guardians of the Universe, as proven in this movie.
Legendry historical movie. The best of the best. Amazing, storyline, acting and sounds epic. Have 3 DVD copies. Couldn't of been any better. Role out the followup sequel....
Saxons migrated from Jutland to british island, as well some of they have gone to where nowadays is called Holland, merging with Franks (another germanic people) to form the Dutch people. Another saxons gone to north of Germany, to a region called today as Saxonia. Angles and jutes migrated all to british island. The jutland peninsula was then populated by Dans, coming from that islands between Sweden and Denmark today.
These migrations are very interesting, after the Roman Empire Fall, cause they defined the formation of the culture of modern countries. As another example, Franks that remained at Holland today are called dutch and speak a germanic language (descendind from Frankish spoke by anciente Franks). Franks that merged with gauls formed the country today called France and speak a latin language descendent from latim (french). Another franks that remained where today is Germany speak a germanic dialet similar to frankish language. Franks in the belgium speak Flemish, a dialet from Dutch. The beautiful in all these is that you can learn the history of a country or of a folk by the changes in the language.
Tiburcius Van der Leeuwen Thank you! You taught me something, and I dont mean that in a patronising way. I am always eager to learn and I didnt know that! Thank you for furthering my education. respect to you
Fun-fact: Few peaple know it but actually, lot of Canadian and Americans got saxons and Franks ancestor ! The Ethimological roots of the familiy name is the proof.
Britain cannot be taken anymore. Last time, it was around 1000 years ago. 2 world wars happened. In the face of defeat, we stay strong. Our history is strong.
Yossel Rozzy Roz that can also be said for us colonials here in America. As I once told my Grandmother years ago- Grandmother if we do not learn the mistakes of history it will cause our country to fall from the inside out. I'm not sure about the United Kingdom but I am sure that its happening in my country
Yossel Rozzy Roz I really really didnt want to go here, arguing with a knuckledragger just isnt fun, but I will do it anyway, What makes you think the Green Party are Lunatics? Have you read their policies? Do you not see that they want to defend the NHS? Give everyione a living wage? Abolish the bedroom tax? Give everyone a suitable further education, whether that be academic or skill based, depending on their abilities ? Use renewable energy so that we dont have to rely on other nations to keep us going? I dont see much "Lunatic" about that, sorry
A great movie. Not the most accurate, but the most entertaining. This video is very well done, having the best of the film and the music, not too long, just right. Excellent job!

reply to +Arden Dro Gildas is a mix of stories. But Sidonius Apollinaris is one of the best sources for the events in the 5th century Gaul (he's a true witness and implicated in the events)It's more sustainable the version of Riothamus (king of britons as Arthur) because it is well linked in the historical events and it has the decisive clue:the city Avalon in eastern Gaul (Burgundy)-the place of Arthur's death. And don't forget that the legend of Arthur was preserved better in Bretagne region of France (perhaps bretons were the offsprings of the men rulled by Arthur who after his death migrated to Bretagne region in today France)
I watched the movie in August of 2015, I never seen that movie for 11 years until I finally watch it in Netflix. But I would've watch it in 2005, may be more memorable.
Müzik ve flim çok etkileyici .Uluslar arası bir ödül ü varmı bilmiyorum .Bende 10 yıl önce tamamını izledim .Bütün kahramanlik hikayeleri hep aynı etkileyici.❤👍😌
Riothamus, a real-life 5th century "High King of the Britons", connects the British with Attila the Hun, the Goths and Burgundy, and hence with the (early 5th century) tale of Siegfried and the story of Beowulf. The irascible Richard Wagner appreciated some historical threads that most of us have forgotten. It is no accident that England's most crucial allies during the Hundred Years' War were Brittany and Burgundy. The funeral scene in the movie reminds me that Attila's sneak attack at night on the Roman camp was foiled by "a continuous hail of arrows like rain" issuing from the position of the Armorican Britons, the same archers who'd prevented him from annihilating the Alans (Sarmatians) during the previous day's battle.
+Zoe Porphyrogenita It is interesting what you have written but Riothamus is a character in the second half of the 5th century, his story is not linked anyway with Atilla who died in 450s and truly is linked with romans (who asked for his help) and with wisigoths who were his enemies in Gaul and with the region of Burgundy where he died. His actions in Gaul are in 470s ,20 years atfers the invasion of Gaul by the Huns. The good idea in this film is the link between Arthur and the Roman Empire in its last years;the wrong ideas are those regarding the knights of Arthur portrayed as sarmathians and named "rus" which contradicts cronology ("rus" is a term for vikings who settled in Russia and Ukraine in 9th century--the region populated previously by sarmatians) etc
+Zoe Porphyrogenita As for help given by Brittany and Burgundy to England in 100 years war is not motivated in the way as you said.Britons fought a lot against anglo-saxons,and Burgundy in 100years war was not populated by the nations who were there some 900-1000years before.Brittany and Burgundy wanted just autonomy or independence in the terms of great lords in the feudal system.Don't forget that in 100years war England and Burgundy was ruled by french dynasties. So in many ways 100years war was between french dynasties and in its course it turned in a war between nations. But burgundians were not a nation (burgunds-germanic people were defeated in 5th century by an alliance between romans led by Aetius and huns led by Attila) and after that burgundians were asimilated by the francs. So at the end of Medieval Ages it was no burgundian nation, just the french one.And I said for objectivity to be correct:I'm not french! As for you, excuse me:Are you from England or from Byzantine Empire as your name suggested?Maybe we talk about Byzantine Empire:I'm a fan of it!
+Aldea Alexandru Riothamus wasn't in the first generation of Armorican Britons. The Counts of Anjou recalled the arrival of the British soldiers in 383 under Conan Meriadoc (apparently a real-life figure) who was following the orders of Magnus Maximus, because the ancestors of the Angevins were fighting for Gratian's side and were driven eastward because of it. It's the sort of thing a displaced enemy would remember. The King who sent the archers to aid Aetius is listed in the Breton dynastic records as Deroch I. The list has him as Riothamus's father. In 451 Orleans was near the southern edge of the region of Breton operations, so they had good reason to cooperate with their erstwhile enemy Aetius then.
There's only one reaction to this video that people are showing here. it's the word awesome, & love it. these are the kind of music I can always listen to.
Para mim a melhor versão desse filme Rei Arthur a história é bem contada a amizade para mim a versão que fica e sempre que eu posso eu assisto é a melhor😊
-reply to MadamCameron The other version for Arthur (which fits to historical sources-the roman sources) is the britons'king Riothamus who in the years 470s came to the aid of one of the last roman emperors. (Anyway it was the last attempt from the extinct western roman empire to save it-something 5-6 years before the fall of the Western Roman Empire)With his army Riothamus (Arthur)arrived in Gaul (today France),he was attacked by the wisigoths and when Riothamus got wounded he seek refuge to a city in eastern Gaul ,named Avalon (I recommend to read again the legends and the historical sources).Avalon is the place for the death of Arthur (in Burgundy).Anyway it's a great legend but I think it becomes greater when it gets linked to the Roman Empire (the fall of the Roman Empire). And I think that this movie clearly suggested it KIng Arthur is a great symbol of resistance anyway on this planet
This movie just had to go this hard on it's soundtrack. I love it. Women know Keira Knightley from Pride & Prejudice but men will know her as Guinevere from King Arthur. ♥
