Mit ihrer Liebe für wabernde Klänge, die sich in weiten Soundlandschaften pudelwohl fühlen, transportieren King Buffalo mit ihrem Psychedelic Rock rauschhafte Elemente aus den 1970ern ins Hier und Jetzt.
King Buffalo sind Sänger und Gitarrist Sean McVay, Bassist Dan Reynolds und Drummer Scott Donaldson. 2013 im New Yorker Hinterland gegründet, hat die selbsternannte "Heavy Psych"-Combo schon einige Tonträger und Touren mit u.a. Clutch, All Them Witches oder The Sword auf dem Buckel.
In ihrem Sound kommen ausschweifende und progressive Arrangements irgendwann meist doch noch auf einen mächtigen Stoner-Rock-Punkt. King Buffalo häckseln und schreddern psychedelische Soundgemälde, und sie wissen, wie man Retro-Monster ins Hier und Jetzt transportiert. Mal mit Schwermut, mal mit Bombast, mal mit dem Mut zur Langsamkeit. Und immer so, dass es die Synapsen anschubst.

I wanna give a shout-out to the production team of this festival, the sound recording is just fucking perfect, it's easily one of the most enjoyable concerts I've ever seen and you're part of that too. And btw I fucking love King Buffalo. 🔥❤🇧🇷

I like this band live better than recorded. The bassist always looks like he’s in his element/happy place. And that bass guitar is SWEEEEEEEET!!!! Rhythm section locked and loaded for the singer/guitarist to flow!!! THREE PIECE BANDS FUCKING RULE!!!! Good work Guys!!!

Yeah he never, ever over plays. That's what makes this band fantastic, everyone is given room to shine and they all service the track instead of trying to shine through too much. Really well written music and balance in my opinion.

Live show can't be beat. I first saw them opening for The Sword, and they absolutely stole the show. That was years ago and I've since bought all of their albums and they're on my DO NOT MISS list if they're ever playing nearby.

I'm real interested in that customized Telecaster. Looks like a Warmoth body and neck. The body is configured with a Tune O Matic, 2 Humbuckers and a Strat pickguard with 3 knobs, a blade selector and a Strat input. It's a really cool build.

I was thinking the same thing. Not only the Tele is sweet but that bass is gorgeous. At first glance I thought it was Jazz Bass until I saw the dual humbucker pickups and the headstock. Also I’ve never seen a Fender with a finish like that. Any idea what it is?
