The thing is, it is more than one portrait, and that money will go back into the economy while supporting artists with commissions. As an artist, I honestly think it’s great.
The various portraits will not be on display in public buildings in the UK but in the hundreds and hundreds embassies and consulates around the world, they will be in town halls all over the UK and be part of the ceremonies when people are granted UK citizenship, they will also be in county court rooms and magistrates as prosecutions are made in the King Name. The panel go on about people having a hard time but really when did anyone on the panel last worry about money?
Exactly. The government foots the bill to distribute I believe. The cost is putting it up across Britain and all principalities. That is not a small number. I assume frames are included. Shipping. Some building will have large prints.
Think this woman is forgetting that it isn't the king's job to secure money for the nhs and other industries, that is the job of the political party in office's job to dictate that.
Not the point. It is 100+ million pounds of TAXPAYER's MONEY that is being spent on the coronation - including a new golden carriage for Charles - and now another 8 million on portraits. All public money that could be put to better use than celebrating someone with 11 homes.
@@kwoylee5617 take that up with your government, having a whinge on the net doesn't make your government change who and what they put money on, the government makes the coronation a state event not the royal family itself as it is only there constitutionally. If you have a problem with your government then take it up with the government, don't blame others for that.
I still find it hard to believe that he is king now, as it was only last year that we were celebrating the late Queen Elizabeth‘s 2 platinum, jubilee and having a massive celebration for her and now this year we are celebrating King Charles the third coronation, but yet in the back of my mind, we’ve still got the lake Queen and I heads, and I know that this is what happens when queens and kings die.
Why should he have them pinned back? Why shouldn't he be allowed to be happy with what God gave him? Just like any woman would want to be... Love yourself..... Unless you're a royal?
I agree about the pictures, they could've done it cheaper but people are so disrespectful to the Royals. If it weren't for them, no one would care about England and certainly not spend as much tourism dollars.
You realise that claim has been comprehensively debunked by economists, don't you? It's absolute nonsense that has been disproven by looking at the destinations that international tourists visit and their stated reasons for travelling to the UK. More people visit Versailles, yet France hasn't had royalty for hundreds of years.
