For those to whom such things matter- The Rolls Royce here is one of only 16 Phantom IVs. It was built for Queen Elizabeth, he Princess, in 1950, and in 1952 received a unique mascot of St George (Patron Saint of England) slaying the Dragon. (The mascot can be transferred to different cars). King Charles' mascot appear to be a Lion h car is more than 70 tears old. Edward VII, George V, George VI, an Queen Mary owned Daimlers. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth acquired a Rolls Royce every decade or so: a 1950 Phantom IV, 1961 Phantom V, 1968 Phantom VI, 1977 Phantom VI for the Silver Jubilee, then in 2002, a Bentley. These cars have all remained in use and may be seen transporting members of the Royal Family on occasions when carriages and open landaus are not used.
Good morning from Canada. This is a most wonderful video. So good to see Buckingham Palace, The King, The beautiful rehearsals for the Coronation and London in Spring. We need to see more like this. Thank you.
@@MarthalieThurstonSachemPiper Good morning, this video was like a breath of Fresh Air this morning. I love new England. I hope your weather behaves today and no more snow!! I hope that you have a great day.
I didn’t know the guards salute to Clarence house when the king is in the residence. So cool. I wonder what drivers thinking when they drive behind the carriages slowly 😂
if they are regular drivers in London they just accept it. The traffic /security police have everything under their control mat you'll have noticed with that estate car that came up in the middle of the road to cover the exit from BP only to move back as the carriages came out. I've never before noticed those steel barriers that can be raised when the gates are open .
The police outriders for the King come from SEG - Special Escort Group - their motorbikes are white only; they use whistles and not sirens; they have fewer blue lights. Ordinary police outriders have bikes in white, yellow and blue, and they use sirens. Interesting to see the horse guards salute Clarence House - when the King is in residence. I am always proud of how tolerant the British public are - no hooting etc from the cars being held up by the carriages.
I was fortunate to have lived in England for 2yrs. I was told dont talk about futbol nor the royal family. I loved living in such a magical place, it was a wonderful time.
I don't care what Harry and Meghan say about how bad "they" think the monarchy is, it brings in tons of income and a sight seeing spectacle !! Every one in England appears to love it !! 😊
Would never see this wonderful sight in the States. That is why the Brits are so proud. Meghan just does not have a clue on the RF and Monarchy, nor interested.
Crown Estate own most royal properties Jewelry artworks etc. They are an independent commercial business set up by parliament. To make a profit for the Exchequer from the royals. In the tax year 2021/2022 they made £212.7 million pounds profit for the Exchequer. The Sovereign Grant paid to the monarchy the same year was £102 million pounds.
A heir apparent (to the throne) automatically becomes King the moment the previous reigning monarch dies. (That is why the royal standard does not fly half mast ever because there is a monarch always). The title for the British Monarch is His Majesty (for King) and Her Majesty (for the Queen or the Queen Consort). Hope that helps :)
The carriages are going to pick up the Marshall of the Diplomatic Corps at St James's Palace, then on to collect an ambassador to present his credentials to The King. The state Landaus are always used.
Visitors from the Scandinavian Monarchies notice the formalities of the UK Royalty, who have more people gathered outside the palace on a rainy Tuesday than the King of Norway sees outside his Palace on his Birthday. That is the way Life is, in London. On the other hand, Viewers from the US, NOTE: King Charles has a escort of two police and a Land Rover.....and down the street, close behind him, like a parade come a 3-wheeled delivery vehicle, a man on a bike, a London Cab full of tourists the Plumber from British Gas and two more taxis.... no worries!
Having lived in Baku, Azerbaijan for over eight years, you'd be amazed at the number of vehicles in the convoy for the president of that nation. I once counted 32. It seems the smaller the nation and the more dictatorial the ruler the more vehicles you need to show off what little power you have.
This will be the second coronation for me to watch on the telly. This year taking part with the Dunkirk Little Ships at St Katherine Dock as they salute the King.
@@TheByard it will be my first 😀 I've never seen it before in my life. I was born in 1999. So the late Queen had already been on the throne for a while. This will sure be a military and sovereign spectacle 🔥👏🏿
@@room11news I watched Queen Elizabeths coronation at the age of 7, having just returned from The Gold Coast, now Ghana where my father worked. We sat around aunties TV with a magnifier screen strapped in front, sandwiches and cakes with pop to wash it down. My father took me into London and showed me Buckingham Palace where he stood guard as a Welsh Guardsman and then onto Horse guards as a kid those horses were huge.
Seious question, who cleans up after those horses? They just don't leave the poop on the road do they? I love watching the Royals from across the pond. Hopefully visit there in the future. ❤
The royal parks service have street sweepers that come and clean them up. After ceremonial events, they're joined by council sweepers and they're very busy! 😂
The unworthy, unwashed masses do that. IE: Our great overlords take our money then make us clean up the shit from their horse's asses. It's good to be king. God said so.
Nothing worse than playing in a marching band in a parade and following horses 😬😖 Hmmm… maybe horse droppings on steel tram tracks when playing in a parade- very slippery. Great that they clean it off after though.
Harry missing out on all the beautiful fun HAROLD should have been proud of his country and family but picked a trollop who hated hers and traditions and rubbed off on him Hope you're happy HAROLD in your new world 🌎❤️😍😊🦚📴😁🆕
They are security and for the spouse of the ambassador who will be collected in the carriages, to go to Buckingham Palace to present credentials to The King.
Dzień dobry. Mam pytanie i prośbę o pomoc - O CO CHODZI Z KOŃMI ( na początku filmu ) i z później z KARETAMI w okolicach Buckingham Palace ? Wie ktoś ? Jeżeli tak ro będę wdzięczna za odpowiedź. Pozdrawiam z Poland.
I don’t understand what you are asking. What do you think is wrong with the horses? What’s wrong with the carriages? They all seem to be fine to me. If you are asking why are the horses and carriages out on the streets then it’s because they are rehearsing for the Coronation. Everything is planned down to the last second, all the equipment had to be checked to ensure it’s in full working order. All the personnel taking part have to know exactly what they are supposed to do, how to do it and when to do it (whatever it is). These events are always fully planned andrehearsed.
A widzisz teraz wszystko jasne - to są ćwiczenia, próby przed majową koronacją Karola III. A ja myślałam, że w Londynie jeżdżą te karoce razem z super samochodami ( Londyn to podobno dużo nowoczesności i dużo zabytków). Bardzo Ci dziękuję za wyjaśnienie i pozdrawiam Cię serdecznie z Polski.
@Don Clark They have something special about them. Until recently though, when the brakes were updated, Palace chauffeurs said that they had to plan braking for the Phantom IV well in advance.
Wouldn't be nicer if the motorcycles were Triumphs and and the Audis be something, I don't know, British? King of England shold not be surrounded by "Germans" all the time...and yes, I am aware of where the British Royal Family came from but still....
With all the modernization, I would prefer it if the king and his relatives drove to and from the coronation in luxurious official cars, like in an outdated carriage that is a really great museum piece. Precisely because King Charles III, William and Kate now had important appointments in the direction of politics and they are therefore seen more as heads of state than just outdated pompous monarchs. Therefore, for people who represent England as a chorus of diplomats, a contemporary mobilization with (Rolls Roys, Bentley, Audi, Mercedes-Benz) would also be appropriate. That would also be better in terms of security. Mounted police can precede each car to add more festivity. ( I write and translate only with Google 😉 I hope it is correct) .
Just like when I go to work on a 12 hour shift, police everywhere for my safe escorts, bloody horses waking up my neighbours, yep just a normal family going about there daily tasks in the green friendly manner bless

Sorry such a little distance with Buckingham Castle, is it necessary to do it with a RR burning high quantity of gasoline ? King Charles can do this on foot. No ?
It's embarrassing to see my countrymen and women whooping like Americans when he came out of his palace. As for 'work', they don't work. Cutting ribbons and having lunch is not work. Tomorrow I'll leave home at 0600 and drive (myself) to work an hour away. I'll get home at about five. I've done that all my life, and I'm 60 now. These parasites wouldn't know what a day's work is.
Without monarch your country would be lauging stock for africa and Asia. Bcoz of war..Uk loosing their relevency in politics.. Many countries respect you bcoz of monarch.
@@bobikdylan once monarch fall there won't be union. And you can see how desparate politician are for begging help with US. Since everybody refuse...People around the world have different respect just bcoz of monarch...once it fall...it goes with that.
You might think Charlie could get on his bike and peddle over to the palace from his residence at Clarence House? Instead he uses the State limo!!! I am disappointed this man isn't even trying to bring some fresh air into an antiquated system. Charlie is as geriatric a monarch as her late Majesty the Queen only without any of her charm.
