They all deserve respect. I can see the point that surviving all the years after one’s mates had been killed has its own burdens. I sometimes don’t know how they did it. A different generation, the greatest (I feel).
The importance of their efforts seem so much more critical today as we have the threat of authoritarianism in America and in Europe. The fight to defend our rights to freedom never ends
Truly our greatest ever generation, they gave their tomorrow's for our today. We will never forget them and no amount of words will ever be enough to say thank you to every single one of them 🙏🙏♥️
Oh Queen Camilla, breathtakingly beautiful dress. And Your Royal Highness, I love you heart and soul. A wonderful tribute to those veterans and soldiers who deserve our thanks and respect.
To think we have this day and time elite rich billionaires who are trying to take away what those men fought and lost their lives for, just like Hitler.
I've had 65 good years because of this generation and the sacrifices they made. I hope our generation doesn't betray their sacrifice anymore than we already have.
Generation " X " didn't betray their generation by choice , remember we were largely betrayed by our parents and a society that could care less about us , many of us did our parts as much as we could even if that is to be the odd ball telling the veterans at the grocery store and every where else how much they mean to us . We really had little choice , we had to think for ourselves and couldn't give as much as we wanted . No veteran wants us to think like we failed them , they would much rather see the freedom they fought for in action by us living our best lives .
The king has such tremendous ability to make words come alive. God bless the soldiers who lived and died for our freedom. May we treasure and keep that freedom.
Nobody speaks more eloquently than our King, his words are so moving. So many young men knowing they could die, yet willing to give up their lives. 😢❤❤❤
The men who stormed those beaches were of a generation that, sadly, our world will never see again. We don't know them all, but we owe them all, and we can never thank them enough. They had more integrity, decency, and honor in their little fingers than most people in this world have in their whole bodies! I no doubt that these vets at this ceremony are saddened by what they see that our world has become. May God bless them all, and may they rest in peace.
They did, but so did the Soviets. Britain fought alone in the Battle of Britain though once Poland fell though, in 39-40. With the RAF and some Poles who fled NG
My dad is 100 yrs old. He fought in the Battle of Normandy on behalf of the United States of America. A tank fell over his body. There was no Medic in the area. His comrades struggled to dislodge the tank from his body. We are proud of him for his courage, gumption.and valor. An example to follow. He and all other young men and women who fought in that war, are responsible for us being able to enjoy our freedom, our liberty.
The King's Speech on the subject was great. It was well received The Audience were spellbound. I saw great pride on the faces of the Veterans. The King and the Queen looked marvellous. I also watched Prince William's speech. It was great.
Most of today's youth would 💩 faint n then die of a heart attack! But ... The warmongers are still the same! You didn't get freedom! It's under a veil of DECEIT!
amyjones8144 ..yes my family too ! 10 returned 15 didn't! Priming the Brits to go to WW3! 300 thousand American soldiers now in Ukraine! .firing missiles into Russia! Humanity must not go to War for the Oligarchs!
King Charles is a wonderful King, and he has been and no doubt stiil poorly from his cancer diagnosis and he is 75 years old. A wonderful speech, A Brilliant Man.
I was ill in 2023 and I was still able to attend my D-Day 79th anniversary event 5 months later. I understood why Woody.EXE made it a special occasion because of my recovery from the illness I contracted in February of that year and was hospitalised. I literally almost suffered a breakdown during the ceremony because I couldn’t believe I was alive to see this day. I was only 20 when I contracted the illness and I thought I was going to die but I’m still here at almost 22. I can’t believe I’m 22 in 4 weeks
Perfect closing message: "Commit ourselves always to remember, cherish and HONOUR those who served that day and to LIVE UP TO the freedom they died for by balancing rights with civil responsibilities to our country for we are all eternally in their debt"
It made me too emotional that i had to step away for a moment to cry. I don’t want to imagine what Woody.EXE has planned for our D-Day event tonight in Wales and I’m very honoured to be part of it as his beloved Queen. I know he’ll do incredibly well tonight
He really is a natural orator. He doesn't stumble, and there are no um's which drive me crazy. The speed is perfect and the inflection adds a genuine touch. I'm very impressed.
@@georgemartin1436 At least President Biden knows what he's talking about, not like that fat, lying, cheating, philandering, thieving traitor...so what if Biden has a stutter?? He's learned to work with it over the years...as a young man, he would study the muscles in his face in a mirror and even thought he still has a small problem with his stutter, he's still a great orator...cut the man some slack!
How proud our incredible Queen. Elizabeth the 2nd. would be of her Son His Majesty King Charles. A wonderful caring, passionate, kind man, who has had so many heartbreaking experiences in his life. Superb speech today, to the veterans & the Country for what all those young men achieved on that day. The D.Day Landings. Their bravery, their sacrifices. ALL children should be taught about that time, & be so grateful, that they live in a Country where thousands & thousands of young men did what they had to do, therefore, giving us all the life & freedom we have had since that time.
May the souls of the departed Veteran dwell peacefully in rest. Happy D day wishes to England, Canada and France. Pray for good health and for the survivors. Amen😊🙏
***GOD BLESS THE PEOPLE*** who gave so much fighting for freedom. Resistance and underground members of families, men, women & children died…so WE COULD BE FREE.
@@dw2195What freedom?? The freedom to allow you to express your opinion on such matters... The outcome of the Second World War was already decided on the 22nd of June 1941 and on the 7th of December 1941.
My Grandfather died in the first world war, my father spent his war in a tank and my two brothers and I were cold war warriors. Pray to God we never have to pay the price that freedom sometimes ask of us. Bless them all.
But the British people know the courage and commitment of the Royal Family during the war and that's what really matters! The Royal Family stayed in London as the bombs rained down and went out among the people between the attacks. And later, Princess Elizabeth even join the military like other young women to do her part during the war. And of course, they lost members of their family to the war.
What memories and thoughts must be going through the minds of those respected veterans from all those years ago! May our thanks and appreciation for what these men and women accomplished in WWII never be forgotten
What a wonderful speech. He spoke for men and women who fought and those that gave their lives. He spoke for those who lost love ones who joined together and fought for our freedom. It was a big price to pay, but we have not forgotten what they did and King Charles has spoken so eloquently.
Lovely to hear English being spoken so beautifully! Thank you! King Charles for giving time to honour the soldiers!!!!! The people coming in will never grasp the supreme effort those brave men went to or suffered for freedom.
No one represents our wonderful country more honourably than our King, Queen and the Prince of Wales. The Kings speech was inspiring and moving and certainly guarantees we will not forget the sacrifice of so many for the freedom we enjoy today. I salute them all, true heroes. Hx🌟❤️🇬🇧
Very emotional during this contemporary time, our world is again being attacked with single rule politicians take hold again. LET FREEDOM SING! Bless our fallen for fighting for freedom. 💙💙💙
A wonderful speech from King Charles🎉. It covered everthing and made me realise so much that was covered by all of ghose onvolved. I am 81 and cannot walk, but even though i have alzeibers , i often think of the days of the early forties and have wrote about how people coped in the village pf Eagley. I remember so much even being so young Thankyou to all who attended and supported each other so possitively. Well done for making such a positive m emory and for the Kings speech and Williams too.All take care of yourselves. Ann, Cornwall. U K
