Post 'Discipline' King Crimson NEVER got better than the Happy With What You Have To Be Happy With EP released in 2002. It floored me and this was when I was really confused with King Crimson around the ConstruKction of Light release and the Projeckts releases and the who the hell was playing with who releases.
I have never watched your channel before but I enjoyed this review and will watch more of your videos .I never enjoyed the album when it first came out but the remastered version made me reassess the album and the use of analogue drums really opened up the album for me.😊
Pat was not a replacement for Bill Bruford. They played together in Thrak before failed recording and Projeckts, then Bruford retired and Pat was left, they played brilliantly together on Thrak and the two tours that followed. I couldn't listen to the rest of the video after getting that so wrong.
@@stuartraybould2574 my apologies, I was a little unclear and I tried to correct it with an onscreen caption. I did mention around the 3:07 mark that they played together on Thrak.
@@stuartraybould2574 I actually met and worked with Pat and Trey last September when Tuner played ProgDay. It was a great experience to see him play ‘Level 5’ up close. Wonderful performance !
@@ShedSoundsMediawithIanBeabout seen Crimson several times, all line ups including the Projeckts with the exception of the original 1969 band, just too young. I can imagine that was a wonderful, unforgettable, experience, I'm jealous.
@@stuartraybould2574 I saw them in 2017 with the three drummer lineup. Pat was really cool and I got to load on and help set up his drums. Jealous you got to see KC thru the years !
This is my 2nd Favorite KC album used to be at the bottom until one day i played it starting on track 2 & realize its a perfect album without Prozac Blues... So now i skip PB every time i play it (this song rubs me so badly it hurt my ability to properly immerse in this album) ... Feel The Reconstrukction Mix is far superior... Also... prefer Frackctured over the original Fracture by leaps & bounds... KC as always is innovating, developing & evolving... especially on the last 3 albums My Ranking 1. The Power to Believe/ Discipline 2. The Reconstruction of Light (skip - Prozac Blues) *Bonus Heavy Construkction (skip - Prozac Blues) 3. Thrak/THRaKaTTaK 4. Three of A Perfect Pair 5. Islands *Favorites - Ladies of the Road/Prelude: Song of the Gulls 6. Starless & Bible Black *40th Anniversary Version (skip - 6 & 7) play tracks 1-5, 8 - 13 (title track is the only piece i dislike) *Favorite - Lament 7. Larks Tongue in Aspic 8. In the Court of the Crimson King 9. (3 album/Tie)... cant decide In the Wake of Poseidon *Favorites - Cat Food/Pictures of A City Red (skip - Fallen Angel & Starless/play Bonus Track - Improv: A Voyage to the Centre of the Cosmos... instead) *Favorite track - One More Red Nightmare Beat *Favorite tracks - Heartbeat, Neal & Jack & Me, Neurotica, The Howler 10. Lizard (use to rank higher mainly because the Lizard Suite)...
I need to check it out. I recently played the Construction of Light album and I was blown away at how much I hated that sound NOW. So this might be the trick for me.
