Erns Augustus, the fifth brother also technically had some form of a laugh as his male line is the current senior male line of the family and still on the throne of Hanover. But of course it's possible his one of his older brothers has a more senior male line still continuing via their possible illegitimate sons.

Thai monarch is gonna be juicy. People can easily get jailed for saying anything remotely questionable about them. They interfere A LOT with politics too and are known to be behind most of the anti-democracy military coups in the past many decades. In the last election the military junta party, backed by the king, almost got contested by the king's sister who announced she was running for the opposition party (like a commoner) lol That was a real stunning move that got everyones jaw dropped. The junta party has no policy or vision other than claiming they are the one who will protect the royals from being "attacked" and bringing order back to the country, so the princess running against these old military dudes was really killing their "royal protector" claims 🤣 Then the royal office released a statement real quick that the royal family should not interfere with politics. 😂 More fun fact: the king's sister had been stripped of her title because she married an American commoner and went to live in the US for many years before she finally divorced, returned home and got forgiven and granted an honorary title by her father the late king. No one dares talking negatively about the previous and current kings publicly but with gen Z kids nowadays (they are so crazy brave, they aren't afraid of the police literally kidnapping and jailing them) so people start to talk more about this online, safety in number I guess. The Thai royals copy lots of British propaganda PR tactics too, you can easily notice it, from the king's holiday/new year's speech to the slow unique way each royal family member speaks, and how they refer to themself as we, and so many more. I grew up in Thailand and I had no idea these were copied from the British until I watched Lindsay's videos and I was like, holy sh..t I have seen these somewhere else before!

The FitzClarence descendants of William IV are well documented. Augustus's two children Augustus and Augusta did not have children. The others less so, because they were not acknowledged. Geprge IV amd Frederick etc did not acknowledge bastards. Nor could their sisters as unmarried British princesses. Sophia and Amelia allegedly had one child each.

This is King George personal. If you live in New England part of US, you learn he was a major factor of American Revolution. You do not learn this part.

Honestly, same. When I saw she was making a series on King George III, the first thing my mind thought was that he was the tyrannical king during the American Revolution. He had a much more interesting life than just that, but that's all I was taught as a child, so that's what my mind associates him with.

Anyone else think the portrait of Ernest that appears at 7:32 looks like Boris Johnson?

Boris is a descendant of George II so it is not impossible

Sure does. Since he is a distant descendant of the Hanover line it makes sense though.

I suppose it's good that the parents had faith in the process of innoculation. But I am not sure I could give my other son a live vaccine so soon after the death of another child from the same thing.

What a terrible choice they had to make between two risks: smallpox or inoculation.

I guess I understand they didn’t know anything about vaccines back then… But if your first kid died from it I just don’t understand why they would do it again

My family has high royal blood, and 1 of my ancestors served Edward,Duke of Kent. He was granted the title of Sir by Edward's father, and later was granted a barony by Edward's brother,George IV. Its believed his last name was Clark, but to this day my family does not know what his first name is due to the fact files went missing during WW2. And to this day its just a tale we've been telling in my family throughout the centuries. Anywho,Sir Clark married a young women named Lady Juliana Shakespeare in 1787 despite their 18 year age gap. It was evident Juliana only married him for his high wealth, but she didn't expect him to still be alive by the time she was 40. Around this time, both Juliana's son and husband died in 1800. We do not know how or why they died, but we assume it was Miss Julie who had something to do with it. She then began an affair with Prince Edward, but fled to Italy in 1804 where she married a 22 year old tax collecter. And yet again,he died 6 years later, the same day her past son and husband died. She later passed away in 1834. This lineage ended due to the murder of Julie's son,but Juliana's great great nephew, the General of The English Military began an affair with Princess Louise in 1865 and ended in 1892. He married Louise's best friend in 1867,one of her Lady in waitings. However, there affair didn't end clearly, and in the town there was a rumour that Louise got pregnant, but did everything she could for the baby to die in a miscarriage. But we don't know if that's true. The General died in 1907,and his grandson fought in WW2 but died during the war
