King Giddra was one of the greatest rap groups after the 90s. They innovated J-rap utilizing rhymes unheard of and adressing real issues in Japanese society, I'll always have mad respect for Zeebra, K Dub Shine and DJ Oasis
That was actually really good. I'm not japanese or anything but i listen to J-pop/rock but this is my first time listening to j-hiphop and it's really good. I like the message of this particular song. Nice
In the documentary The Fog of War, former U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert S. McNamara recalls General Curtis LeMay, who relayed the Presidential order to drop nuclear bombs on Japan, said: "'If we'd lost the war, we'd all have been prosecuted as war criminals.' And I think he's right. He, and I'd say I, were behaving as war criminals. LeMay recognized that what he was doing would be thought immoral if his side had lost. But what makes it immoral if you lose and not immoral if you win?"
bunmei to seigi, gizen, gocha maze afugan nanmin ni fuku tsumetai kaze gisei wa itsu mo shimin no ho e kuru kon'ya mo Bush wa beddo de nemuru I can't agree with jazzoj5 that the Hiroshima/Nagasaki tragedies are comparable to 9/11, we have one ground zero and they have two. but i can comment on the stunning imagery and the imagination involved in piecing them together and showing how world politics can be reimagined through the lense of different genba. sweet man.
Can anyone please link to more viedoes of Japanese hiphop that have bilingual subtitles. I want to hear what jpns hip hop has to offer while improving my japanese, but this video kinda sucks...
@13245 Majority of people think of hip hop as some type of form of music that it's really not. Not even actually, maybe what you say hip hop is, it probably is. But not just that. Hip hop is so big right now that it can be branched off. Camron.. have you ever heard his rhymes? Dude can kill it. Same with Jeezy. Dont get me wrong, I love DJ Premier and Nas a lot more.. but those rappers are good too. People like catchy music. Something to bump to or dance to. Thats why those rappers get radioplay
In the documentary "The Fog of War: Eleven Lessons from the Life of Robert S. McNamara" McNamara himself admits that if America had not won the war, we would have been charged with a war crime. In the "War against terror" hundred of iraqi citizens are dying by stray missiles/gunfires, who have nothing to do with what happened in during 9/11.
That still doesn't turn the death of a quarter million non-combatants to 'not shit', that was my point. Of course the japanese committed horrible crimes too, but no matter how you look at it, 250 000 is quite a lot of people.
Let's not forget that We American's & troops came and "seized" Hawaii from the Hawaiians. So while its true that the Japanese bombed Pear Harbor, keep in mind we Americans stole the land from the Hawaiians with our military force. Japanese & Hawaiians were in Haiwaii first, so just think about how "patriotic" we are now
actually, zeebra lived in NY for a long time. Use the internet that was giving to you. Research. It helps to be a little smarter. Then again, asking an american for something is... well... impossible to get great results from... Look at our schooling system. Because of that, we have 'hardass' like you :D
i thin he is reflecting on the two, because the Abomb was dropped on a civilian population, not were the military was stationed, the US purposely bombed civilians. civilians that were made up of the old, women, and children, basically those who could not serve in the military. War or not, bombing civilians is terrible.
The message of the song is pretty good. The flow could have been better though I suppose. Rap in Japanese does sound a bit unnatural. It definitely takes some getting use to. The song itself though is dope. Mad props to this group. We need more rappers out there like this today.
This is cool. I like shing02 better but zeebra has some serious content. I just had a lot of fun reading comments from trolls. They're probably just mad cuz some Japanese guy stole they're lady and they're heartbroken. Pity them, don't respond lol.
No matter how the comparison may lie, describing the death of 150,000 to 250,000 people, mostly civilians to boot, and the obliteration of two cities, with radiation effects lasting up until this very day as "wasn't shit" shows you're neither respectful nor all that rational, in my opinion. Also, are you truly naive enough to believe war crimes weren't being committed by all sides involved?
yo, you dont even know where i'm from. i'm definately NOT FROM GERMANY. are you obsessed with germany or something??? i think you need anger management or therapy.
