Before this gbb, Footboxg and Helium were the best underrated bbxrs out there. After this year though, I see them gaining a ton of fans. They're both sick.
@@RmX. the common understanding of underrated is when the general public do not appreciate or recognize someone's talent. Obviously the judges recognize the talent, and that's how they ended up at GBB. Also, I didn't say they were the most underrated, I said they were the best underrated.
@@RmX. I’m with you on this, once someone makes it to gbb as a solo artist no more calling them underrated! I think of people like rayul, Amit, beatfox, and greycloud who are always in the mix but haven’t won big yet. I think of legends who have moved out of the scenes consciousness like mixfx, markooz, or pizzacato. Or up and comers who don’t get enough hype like Dropical.
D-Low fanboying during this battle is the best thing ever. I'm sure we were all going crazy, as well. What an INSANE battle, and so early in the event, as well!
@@aneeshmudaliar5561 agreed man, but after seeing d-low in kickback, i dont think anyone can stand up to him, man's undefeated since his loss at the world champs 2018. However we never know what can happen in a live battle, so yea maybe he could have lost his unbeaten streak in gbb 2021, hope fully he competes in the future GBBs
@@73_vincent Nah, this is just a joke, like u, thinking this is a "reaction". Dude he hear thoose round in live, lmao. And this isnt analysis neither, he (D-low) didn't speak out of the confort zone. This "analysis" is a joke. Better go and listen to Orodreth analysis, that's a real analysis, objective, and critical.
basically, inertia had more highlights in his rounds compared to helium's rounds. this battle will go down in history of beatboxing. and the fact that this still has room for improvement shows that the level is super high.
i agree that helium has more diverse kit than inertia and that repetitive pattern of inertia backfired to him deeper in the tournament, even getting called out by footboxg in small final when footbox said "maybe you should try other than inward bass". but then again, the artists are judged based on their performance in this very battle only, not about what they can do deeper in the tournament. and if there was an overtime, i think helium would've won.
I don’t understand. Everyone is saying Helium’s counter is arguably one of the greatest they’ve ever heard. Yet he still lost? Helium deserved the win. All inertia did was spam inward
@@charlesschwarts3152 don't worry man i can see why helium would've won that battle. helium doing one of the best counters and still losing just shows that he was very close but not enough. i ain't a professional beatboxer and judge either way i'm just sharing my opinion too.
@@charlesschwarts3152 Did you not watch the video? Dlow explained that Inertia actually had good variety, he used normal inward bass, vocal strain throat bass, and vibration bass plus two high pitched variants. Saying that King Inertia just spammed inward bass is as dumb as saying Helium just spammed inward drag. Also, Inertia's arrangement was way better than Helium's.
Helium had an amazing counter. His first round had alot of inconsistency’s and his second round after the counter was pretty mid overall. The beat was kinda boring and the liproll beat he tried just didnt work at all.
Helium's counter was like a bullet and came in like a rocket That Bass was Astronomically good, the reverberation, the echoing, the sound-wave length and just how Smooth it was, yet so powerful that was probably the best Bass I've ever heard on a gbb I'm telling you, that made someone with ears as good as mine contort my whole face of How SICK it sounded
Helium's 2nd round was my FAVORITE of the entire event so far. I wish he'd been paired vs. someone else, but then we wouldn't have gotten this epic battle lol .. so good.
Was waiting for your analysis because this battle sonically to my ears was incredible. Levels so high yet it was so close to me. Your analysis made so much sense
in the middle of Helium's round 2 was little bit enjoyable because the beat was pretty fast but the crowd is........ idk, cant explain. But, the counter was cool in the early then the middle part goes pretty fast and..... the crowd was started to decrease the noise
5:52 I love that part. Helium does a "move it along" motion with his hand and King Inertia responds with that technical spit snare business. :) Nice response.
@@dylanhampton6873 Maybe you can say so, but i guess its kinda included in the point where dlow said how the used every second of the battle. And in that category it would be a Clear minuspoint to Inertia
@@fredericdmk5356 you could say that his usage of the last 8 seconds were to leave that confidence with the judges. you just have an oooooooh shit moment when he stops before the end
It was just freestyle, Helium said that he decided to use it at the very last second ! And one cool thing is that he prepared 0 rounds with inward bass ^^
No one mentions that bass around the 55-45 seconds left of 2nd round for king inertia dlow you are a beast n I love you bro but that bass had me crying
Always love watching Dlow's reactions to get that extra energy!!!! Dlow you have such good energy man, I'm happy to see you like that. Have a great day
We already knew that Inertia was crazy, but Helium's counterattack was so great that we couldn't decide who would win. Personally, I'd judge the draw I think it was a very impressive battle for everyone!!
I'm a little sad that overtime was removed, I think an overtime would have really made this a top 3 battles in beatbox history contender. Also I think if it DID go to overtime, maybe helium would have won, because of his wider repertoire, inertia is a beast but I think 3 continuous rounds of inward and vibration bass would have gotten tiresome and repetitive. Nonetheless, I'm not the professional here, all the respect to the judge's decisions. Truly a battle for the ages.
o yeah. inertia needs to work on exploring different areas other than inward bass and trap routines. it was insane but he needs to pull out something different or else he be predictable.
@@Heatwave9000 I don't get how everyone's claiming inertia does the same thing every time he has so many variations of basses that no one can do as clean as him. Helium just did drums some lip roll and zipper drops and 10 seconds of inward bass I don't see how its so revolutionary. But no hate they are both amazing artists
Dude your the GOAT I just found out that this a thing and I love your one the best to ever do it and you seem so genuine to your craft thank you beast !!
Thanks so much for your content man, It's amazing!! I started watching you for your beatbox skills and I keep watching you because of your passion that goes way beyond the screen! Thanks for your authenticity and your killer analysis! keep it up
Helium did a great job. Counting everything that he needed to get to the poland with all this stress. He showed his best potential. Петя красава ждём на следующем GBB. :)
@@clemverpomtato yeah i'm sure i heard one of them say he really couldn't win cause of how everyone wanted to hear inertias bass. Something around there
@@juliobaezajr8801 audience's perspective, 100% they will want to hear inertia's bass variations, for sure. but judges' perspective tho, i am not sure. also i like ur name and profile lmao
I'm new to watching beatbox (probs about 6 months) and this has been the best battle I have seen yet! I actually got goosebumps during Inertia 2nd set. Couple of Dlow tracks are still my fave though :)
I miss this feeling of when beatboxing at this level felt so novel and insane to me and those moments come fewer and fewer. I had this same feeling when I watched gbb17 NaPoM vs Hiss. Highly recommend checking it out.
I kind of saw it as a statement that he could do inward bass on that level but his style wasn't limited by it; it was just one tool instead of the whole toolbox.
Yeah his sucker punch drops felt kinda similar both rounds. Also I feel like if Helium went second instead of first, he would’ve had like a better chance. Maybe that’s just me
@@adichatterjee second round was not sucker punches tho right? I think the only issue with second round was the structure, he moved from buildups to two different hype patterns with nothing connecting them
I love both Beatboxers - I just don't see on any range even after this explanation the outcome. Intertia did two of the same round essentially. Almost no differences. No counters. No technique. Great sounds and musicality. Helium did it all. Tough to judge. Wonderful video. So much love to everyone!
Helium essentially had the same round structure too. He starts out with lip roll and zipper drops and then does drums and then does the drums faster. And in my opinion that's such a basic beat box formula. No hate though i love both of these talented artists
@@griffsmotorthings can you explain what you mean by technique. And yes heliums counter was good but it was just 10 seconds and then he did the same round formula again
yeah. after inertia's second round, you can see him ever so slightly nervous before judging because he knew he might lose and helium did better than everyone was expecting.
D-low articulates both his thoughts and musical expressions on an acutely high level. Mix that with an approachable and charming personality and you have a superstar and one of my favorite artists. ❤️
One of the best battles for me and I give it Helium. Having said that, it was very very close but I just prefer Helium's style that little bit more and I didn't like that Inertia left 8 seconds on the clock in his final round. That is how fine the margins were imo. Shoutout to Zede on the judging panel for voting Helium.
i love your energy, i seen you on youtube when u were just a kid haha i was too, but man still love your positive energy. thats one way to live life :)
it's funny watching and also enjoyable watching you react to other beatboxers... Because we all know that You (Dlow) in battle mode is just another level of madness
You know what strikes me the most and probably you could explain that a little more in the next reaction and analysis on Inertia: To me it seems like Inertia don't vary to much with his sound choices and the way he puts them in his routine. I just watched the quarter final agains Alem and I thought Inertia just did nearly the same sounds with similar flows. What are the differences within that. I saw the faces of the judges while each of them is doing something ridiculous but the decision was still, pretty much in favor of Inertia. (Kinda similar to me like in the Inertia Helium battle) but here you explained your decision. I'm really interested in your opinion on that. If you can't really understand what I'm meaning just let me know. I'll try to rephrase it. :-P
