I get the same feeling as when I was a kid watching Joy Division. Archy is really one of a kind, and their live performances are the purest form of King Krule as a group.
CLASSIFIEDGTA thanks for the clarification mate :) just in case you didn’t know, they’re his close friends and that shows in how they play and perform, their chemistry is great to watch and they each have brilliant individual talent
Mellow Boy not just you. I actually haven't been able to really get into the studio album that much. but these live versions are so damn good. I think it's a matter of having written great songs but not realizing them properly in the studio. just my (subject to change) onion though.
@@DSL_Returns i thought the same dude, have you heard out getting ribs live? Its way better than the original. Its more jazzy yet it still has punk rock element to it. I think king krule should redo a bunch of his songs.
Always loved The Ooz, but now that I've experienced true heart break it's taken on a whole new meaning. Just thankful to be alive while such a genius artist is putting out incredible work.
Same here friend… going through it tough right now and this performance is helping me keep it together all the while making me feel emotions I have never experienced. 😢
Djence yeah man you really help out a lot with all the indie musicians who wanna learn more. Your like the only teacher out there who listens to that type of music
This performance is mind blowing. I love how they include the guy mixing and adding effects in the frame. I don’t know anyone that would mix, and edit live like this. They play perfectly in time with each other even through the slowest parts, which is harder than most people think. Every layer of sound contributes to the song perfectly. I just love this so much
I’m glad you see this too man it fucking blows my mind how it all works in perfectly and the layers are so fucking crazy and trippy at times it has me melting but I love it. I could go on for hours talking about why I love this performance I wish there was one for his next album the Man alive! Shit would’ve been sick
@@shauncanuto7380 I think hes starting it up again. I got tickets for an april show. Now hes performing in my city in September. Hes in Dallas on September 24th or something. Maybe they will honor your cancelled ticket.
just realized how long this video was, gonna come back from work tonight smoke a fat bowl and watch the whole thing for the first time. it must be really special.
People are always on the fence when they first hear him lol I’ve slowly converted a lot of my peers in Alaska to recognize the true beauty of King krules music
What the fuck. This is 3 years old?!?!?!?!?! I remember writing a comment that i didnt play it yet, but knew i was gonna love every second of it. Feels like its only been a year at most. But its been 3 years... I still love every second of it. Maybe even more than beck then
I don’t know about any of youz, but it’s been great watching Archy evolve as an artist. I remember seeing him for the first time back on the Letterman show debut; and was blown away then, and I’m still blown away now. He keeps it fresh, every time, all the time, on every project, under any one of his monikers. Massif ups Archy! You got a fan for life in me. Big ups to the director too, this is dope as fuck! Love those interlude-like parts, a la Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon
Yes man. This is great. Love it. Met Archy in Miami, nicest guy. We talked about guitars and I mentioned I had figured out Baby Blue and he asked me how I was fingering the chords.
I feel so so stupid now. I heard of King Krule years ago, i listened to few songs and liked it and kinda reserved it somewhere in the back of my mind as something that i ought to listen as soon as i can. Then i pushed it and listened to other albums and time went by too fast. Now i find myself here listening to this and i feel like punching myself in the eye. Oh lordy what have i been missing. This live is awesome, his music videos are awesome and his albums are so so great and i missed this all by procrastinating. Well i am here now and i swear to you sweet folk of youtube that from now on i'm gonna watch every music video and listen to every song as soon as they get released. By the way; That Connan Mockasin cover = Unearthly.
Last I heard from King Krule was 6ft, wasn't expecting such an evolution and I'm loving it. Making myself a playlist of my favorites: Intro - 0:00 Dum Surfer - 1:10 Midnight - 8:05 Sublunary - 16:38 A Slide In - 24:06
Holy shit. Like 3 years ago I heard some King Krule and was like "meh, a kid with a weird voice and a guitar" but this was musical transcendence. Thanks for the journey.
Words can't describe the emotion this guy puts into the pictures he paints with his music. Beautiful, have been listening nonstop for a few years now. I watch this video all the time.
