A few days before you released Man Alive! my buddy from childhood, after 6 months clean, gave up on his battles with addictions and committed suicide. In my despair, I swore up & down Airport Antenatal Airplane was Bryan talking to me. Stoned again made me question if sobriety was even worth it, Alone, Omen 3 was the harsh reality of his actions, his kids, his sister, left alone. Energy Fleets was the pure feeling of depression, losing clear memories of my energetic childhood with friends. I learned and tried to grow from the crushing loss, then a day after Space Heavy was released, a close childhood family friend overdosed, alone in a derelict house while people sat around nodding out, watching her die. Your music is my only coping mechanism at this point. A Perfecto Miserable, if you will. I guess all I'm trying to say look out for your friends, never hesitate to confront a struggling friend. The more we love something the more we hide it.
I'm so sorry for your losses. The way you write about your friends is beautifully heartbreaking. The fact you're still here and are able to share this is incredible and shows how strong you are. I know it's incomparable, but you've always got friends in the krule community. Take care of yourself because you really deserve it
Fuck man this is a crushing read. About 18 months ago I lost a close friend to suicide too and the soundscapes in Space Heavy paint such a picture of him & the space now left between us. In this way I hope you know I sympathise. I hope you can continue your fight and march on. Sending love ❤
@@yaboyMAP if we live in hearts we leave behind none of us die. Thanks for the support, the love from the KK community & Alone Omen, 3 taught me one thing- we're not alone.
The last thing I'd ever want to say such a brilliant musician is that their new work triggers physical nausea but that is what I need to say. With one of the deepest voices on the planet - a perfect sound in its own right - you don't need any other deep bass on your tracks.
I heard you were back in the country Looking for me And that your heart was broken And your head was clean Down here on the carpet Stale smoke and rich dreams A motel in Carmel And empty stomach of weed Left me in outer space Reasons for your need St-stuck here, no answers No peace A train to the coast For hours once a week In the pub corner Surrounded by creeps They spoke of the violence And racist police And old red bricks And ten cups of tea This place was forgotten From history I lay in silence Before we arranged to meet The mirror was small And behind lots of trees My head was empty My life was discreet A lot has changed Now a lot means to me
first time I heard the album this song just passed me by, I didn't really think anything about it. But now it's one of my favorites, it evokes such a feeling of, I don't know, hope, inspiration, real love. I can't stop listening to it. This whole album changed me forever, Archy, if you ever read this, thank you thank you thank you.
@@ernest-bd8zc You're correct, that is 100% what he's saying! The other person is misinterpreting the line as "Now a lot means to me" but that isn't even a complete or coherent statement to end the lyrics with. Archy is too skilled of a poet to spout off such nonsense!
C'est sur le fumier de cette civilisation agonisante que cette belle fleur a poussé , bonheur à qui saura la bien regarder. A Young Marble Giant is born.
I like a good portion of Archie's singles, but if I'm too be honest, a good portion of his recent albums seem to be little more than jazz lounge dirges that don't seem to develop much as the songs go along. My man needs to jump it up a bit and put a bit more energy into his songs. It sounds like filler. There, I said it.
I agree, I think this album doesn´t equally match Man Alive and I thougt that with the release of Seaforth a new sound was coming but except for the singles and some guitar playing it´s more or less the same from the last album. Anyways is foking King Krule and we love him, specially in these times when his music is such a breath of fresh air.
