I’m a white boy that was born and raised in L.A. I worked in construction from the late 80’s through the 90’s. The Mexican dudes on the job sites were always blasting Chalino and other Narco Corridos. I kind of grew fond of the style over time. It’s definitely different than other corridos styles; more raw and made by the common man about common issues. I didn’t know the backstory of Chalino though until just recently. Thanks for the mini documentary! Chalino is legend!
Don’t call yourself a white boy have some respect for yourself! Corridos and Banda and mariachi is like a fake Latin culture if you are truly intrigued by Latin culture start listening to samba salsa and mambo, like Tito Puente and some jazz artists like Dizzy Gillespie, that’s true culture.
One of the best documentaries on our King Of Corridos Chalino Sanchez. Love the fact that it has english subtitles for the new generation of Mexican American kids that don't understand Spanish.
I've only recently discovered Chalino Sanchez, I'm an Englishman from Manchester, I only discovered him by accident, I'm a fan of the Mancunian singer Morrissey, in fact I went to the same school as Morrissey (not at the same time as Moz) I've been a fan since 1983, I discovered that Morrissey has a big Mexican/Latin America following, one of my favourite Morrissey songs is "The first of the gang to die" somebody suggested that the song could possibly by about Chalino Sanchez, I hadn't heard of him, so I looked him and his music up, I'm so glad I did, it's funny how different music and places can overlap and join together, Viva Morrissey, Viva Chalino!!!😎
Yessir Viva Chalino!! And viva Morrisey! I'm currently working with another Englishman named Ioan Grillo. He's from Brighton but lives and works in Mexico. He is doing a docu series on Chalino and I'm helping out with it. I encourage you to check out his work. He covered the trial of El Chapo Guzman for time magazine. He also did an interview with El Chapo's mom. He was recently a guest on the Joe Rogan podcast. Check it out. Just search Joe Rogan and Narco Journalist. Cheers bro. Thx for watching!
OH MY GOD I’m 18 and recently found out about him / the smiths and I’m honestly in love with him and the band . I love that song and the fact that I am recently find out about chalino and that song might be related to him is heart striking
I'm from Australia, but I love Chalino's music. There's something about a man that singing from a place that he knows that makes him stand out from someone who's just singing words. Thanks so much for the documentary, it was incredibly interesting.
Right on bro. Love that shit. Us Mexicans keep to our selfs but know how to protect when the time comes. Love the love ppl have for us around the world
I started listening to chalino when I was 8 yrs old and Chalino was still alive , I’ve been listening to him my whole life and this is by far the BEST DOCUMENTARY I’ve seen of Chalino , congratulations guys !
From 10:07 to 11:37 she describes Chalino's perfectly and how his songs grab you and stick like glue to you forever. Chalino walk the walked and talked the talked. He lived that life
I grew up listening to Chalino Sanchez my dad played his music in his old 1988 Ford Bronco which I currently own. I have a lot of great memories listening to his music.
I’m a Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark fan. I also love bluegrass. Every now and again I’ll crank some Chalino. The toe tapping and head bopping rhythm conjures up a romantic albeit dangerous side to Mexico.
As a young kid I never liked him..moved to south central L.A. I fucking loved him from then on ..now he’s my 1 and only favorite singer.. I love this documentary good work.. chalino will forever live
My mom would play a Chalino album where he sings with Mariachi, I believe it came out shortly after he died. That was her cleaning music!! Every morning. I thought why is his voice so whiny?? but the music and what he said always stuck with me. That album is my favorite Chalino album. " Me persigue tu sombra" with mariachi !!! such a beautiful, sad song💜
Chalino Sanchez! Ahhhh cuando yo estava embarasad de mi hijo, siempre escuchava estos corridos y mi hijo siempre se movia. Asta al dia de hoy le facina y tiene 17 años. Ajuaaaa!
Man I'm glad I found this on RU-vid. Every Mexican I know including myself listens to Chalino lol and have been listening to him for years! His son got down too.
This was a very well put together Documentary on A Great Mexican Legend. I have never seen somebody give Chalino Sanchez the respect he deserved until now. For that. I thank You very much. I grew up listening to his music in Long Beach, CA. My Cousin told me to check out this Singer. He said he was really good, but that they had just killed him. I'm 40 years old now and I still listen to Chalino Sanchez all day. As soon as I wake up I put it on. His Love songs are amazing too. What made him so Great was that he was a Blue Collar Singer. You could relate to what he was talking about. He was one of us. Just another hard working individual trying to make it, while dealing with life's up and downs. DEP Chalino Sanchez.
Once again . Thanks for The Documentary. Many can criticize and assume. It takes somebody with a lot of Sand to go to Sinaloa. You did it very respectfully. Respect is the Real Mexican National Currency.
At first first time i heard chalino back in 1990 i also did not like the way he sang, but i took the time to listen to the corridos and i started to like his music then i used to play his music lound in my truck, arriba chalino cabrones!!!!😎👌
Muy buen documental pero yo me pregunto Porq Nadien hace algo para q hagan una serie o película de el se la merece sería un exitaso aver un like quien quiera la serie o una película 👍😎
I don’t understand why he went there being so naive. He could’ve got security or even went to the next city after performing. He made it easy for them. Not to mention, most artists get killed in their own city, which is true until this day
deberían hacer una película sobre Chalino Sánchez, quien sería genial para interpretar su papel, Michael Peña, Marc Anthony o Jacob Vargas, sí, a mi mamá le encantaba Chalino Sánchez, crecí con su música. they should make a movie about Chalino Sanchez who would be a great to play his role michael pena or Marc Anthony or Jacob Vargas yes my mom loved chalino sanchez I grew up on his music

@@kingofcorridosfilm2154 An unbelievable talent... Legendary music.. Incomparable legacy... I hope this documentary will grow and bring you much success. Part 2: The Birth of A Corrido KING! (The formation & discography of a Legendary singer songwriter)
Being from sinaloan stock the reason why he's so popular is because he has that sinaloan attitude that all us sinaloans can relate to and all those that are not from sinaloa admire and imitate, it's the sinaloan spirit all mexicans have.
damn dude that was great and I've been a fan of Chalino since 91 when i was in high school in Salem Oregon. keep up the good word i highly appreciate you. thankz again.
Im almost 33 and growing up around gang members fhat were Hispanic they would always be playing narco corridos old ones like chalino sanchez and they music even tho couldn't understand would always make you smile and wanna dance and cheers your beer lol
Great documentary, only the brother could have been bit interviewed in depth about chalinos life, it felt a bit fragmented.he probably had a lot to tell.
@@edsonestrada8759 I agree. I tried. I spoke with her publicist and unfortunately it was just too expensive. I will try again for part two but it will depend on if I can secure funding.

Well done. Keep making documentaries on legends and historical figures and events. We need more. Much luv and respect. Would consider investing in your work. Associate producer perhaps.???
