Join Henry Choi in this new tutorial series, where Henry teaches you the basics of King of Fighters XIII. With the release of the King of Fighters XIII Steam edition, Henry created these tutorials with new players to the King of Fighters franchise in mind, so they too can have a fighting chance. He actually goes into all the interesting unique mechanics of this game and explains them well. Someone new to fighting games (competitively) wouldn't get much out of it, though, you're right.

its true thats its one of the more difficult current gen fighters, but its not as hard as some people make it out to be, its actually relatively easy to pick up as long as you dedicate the time, but its difficult to master on the lvl of someone like Reynald,Romance, or Bala.

looking forward to the other parts too! i play kof since almost 6 months after its release and i still dont understand how everyone is doing these epic hd combos like its the easiest thing.

input isn't whats difficult you can hold down the button which will throw out the special move as soon as possible, whats difficult is the specificity of the motion. Either you do the motion as directed in the command list or you do a longer, more complicated motion.

I recognize this as one of the best fighting games this generation and maybe the best technically by far, but it really is hard to play without a fight stick

Yeah, it's kinda geared more for people who are familiar with playing fighting games. Cuz there's already so much complete "this is my 1st fighting game ever" beginner stuff out there. So I thought compiling the odd stuff would be helpful

They should have done a better job with the inputs in the combo totorial looking at 12 diffrent directions for one move on screen was unessesary

You're missing out. Putting effort and practice into this game will be rewarding because it's really fun and challenging and not just button mashing.

ARE YOU USING A HITBOX CONTROLLER? I’m asking because I want to know if it’s worth it. Never played fighting games before and the stick seems counterintuitive for me. I find it impossible to do fast combos on a regular keyboard. Not sure if it’s because of ghosting or my lack of skill. Thanks for the uploads man, good information for newbies, appreciate it :)

The gameplay in Tekken is much harder than UMVC3 or Blazblue. A lot of the combos in Tekken are very easy though. Tekken's difficulty comes from movement and having to whiff punish everything. Try wavedashing and doing EWGF in Tekken and see how easy that shit is.
