If we got to see a fight between yujiro and pickle to the last man standing it would’ve been epic even if we already knew who was going to win in the end.

Pickle was fun and dominating for a time, but Musashi was all homage of a national legend. In no way was the Arthur going to put a loss on Musashi's legend.

@KILLER DESTROYER There aren't many. There's the GATE series and Irregular at Magic High School. Personally, Jormungand is the only show that calls a spade a spade; doesn't downplay anything regarding military personnels.

yeah the author might be a patriot but the whole arc was about baki facing and winning against oliva, which is all build up for the yujiro vs baki fight. it doesnt matter if oliva is 10 times as muscular as baki lol, i dont see anyone fuming over baki beating his half canadian step brother whos 10 times taller and more muscular than him. like bruh size or muscle mass doesnt mean strength in this anime
I think it was fine baki beating oliva since the hanma blood and demon back are the strongest plot armor in the show and so he can move on to the next big thing which is yujiro but I agree the level of patriotism here is extra thicc. my main issue however is oliva needed a big w after this, especially since he's been built up in the series to be one of the strongest men in the entire world, but its all downhill from here. losing to yujiro is fine since he IS the ogre for a reason and it didn't really bother me that the arrival pickle and musashi pushed him further down the list since they never fought him directly and they technically weren't alive before; but it was not just simply losing, but getting absolutely humiliated AND crippled by sukune, which is just another japan stomp on the u.s., that made me sigh... and I'm not even american.

Garland was a badass who one shot Hanayama, he gets off-screened fodderized by Sikorski, who in turned gets humiliated by Gaia of all people.

Itadaki-sensei may have a clear bias towards Japan, but you have to remember that these mooks have never seen someone go blow for blow against Oliva. And shit like this keeps happening in Asia, so they've been missing out.

The problem was that the people who were good at it was few and most of them are dead except the old dude Yujiro fought. The knowledge and techniques are advanced but the current practitioners suck. We can see that even Yujiro was threatened by the old guy, if Yujiro wasn't such a Gigachad, he wouldn't have won that fight easily.

I'm not talking about actual strength but over all knowledge and understanding of westerners about martial arts on average are indeed low. And things like what KOL said like ”Then what about Chinese kenpo which has longer history?" are proving it.
Pickle is a thrill but he is not kin to no one. As for this fight I liked it more in the manga to many stop gaps for posturing. When Yujiro visits Olivia that was a sad occasion. Baki swiftly became a Japanese reign supreme type manga for what it's worth its a fight sure to go down with a lot of feats of power. That's basically Baki.

I'm ok if Baki wins with technique but the bs that his char can match in power with Olivia and then he does the same thing with Pickle is just dumb.. I know it's plot armor but the series is just BS, same as when he faces musashi all of a sudden he's good with sword as well and worse of all the way the musashi fight ended with the kiss thing is just lame
That's literally my thoughts. It would have been so cool to see Baki overcome Olivia with a variety of techniques or even other tactics on top of that, but it literally just turned into mindless brawling where we're supposed to believe Baki can out muscle a man about 200+ pounds heavier than himself.
And the thing is, he was far weaker than Oliva at the beginning of the fight, so he just randomly got strenght bonus from shouting in the fight, Baki practially become DBZ at that point
