I couldn’t stop repeating this scene! The only reason why he pushes his daughters as hard as he did was cuz he knew they would achieve amazing things and someone having the gall to say the girls are being mistreated is outrageous to him.

The real Richard Williams once said that he was often criticized by other parents for how hard he pushed his girls and always said that the reason he kept them so busy and focused was so that they wouldn’t fall in with the more illicit and criminal elements of their neighborhood.

@@ericcooper627 TBH I'm not even that surprised at Smith's Oscars outburst. He came off like he was just possessed by one of his characters, which is how he has ALWAYS come off to me. And at least as far as performances are considered, that's fine. What Smith did is wrong no doubt, but Hollywood is so ridiculously forgiving it's not funny. I think Kevin Spacey has been booked up for a major role in a European production.

The better movies came at a competitive time with his peers which he didn’t deserve if you look at the nominees back then same issue with Leonardo…this movie was after Covid when Hollywood was getting back on their feet a lot of weak movies was released and he luckily got this so great timing
