Charles has delivered his first King's Speech to parliament, marking the start of the parliamentary year.
He outlined Rishi Sunak's key legislative priorities for the upcoming year and before the next general election, with laws to prevent children smoking and tougher sentences for serious offenders taking centre stage.
He also paid tribute to his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, by acknowledging her "legacy of service and devotion to this country".

The speech isn’t written by the king guys. It is written by the political party that currently holds power. The king just reads it out for tradition really. He doesn’t have a say.

Yhh! 90% of the speech, Charles was glued to the file he was given to, which was to be read out during the event. Wouldn't be surprised if it was the first time that he was looking at the file containing the speech. 😅😅

The late Queen would not have delivered that speech, Prince Phillip would be furious & I have a feeling King in waiting William won't be impressed. It seems that Charles sold his soul to have Camilla married into the family & sitting on the throne beside him, the government undoubtedly making the suggestions to her majesty as she got on in years, She would have known Charles was in league with them, had given assurances of support to whomever was pm at the time & that's why he delivered Sunak's lies with no emotion.... it's sad that it took him so long to realise he'd been used I don't agree that the monarchy must go but I definitely think Charles should abdicate in favour of William... I can't see him allowing British traditions & history to be cancelled in this manner.... he has more of his Grandparents & his late mother's ideas than his father's
