I would much rather put it on eBay because if I keep it I will never use it. But I selfishly hate to do all this work then have it leave my world. Lol. But I don’t really like quilts so it would just sit in the closet forever if I keep it.

I went through a phase of buying charm packs ... many charm packs during quarantine. "It's on sale!" was all it took. Making 16 patch blocks, backing, random flannel as batting. Will rag at connecting block seams as blocks are put together. Your quilt is going to be wonderful. Scrappy is my all time favorite.

Last king size quilt I did 2" strips and then cut into into 2" strips definitely made it go faster.

Absolutely amazing,,, i remember when you started the series and was following. I wish i had started a year ago with you, because now I would be up with you. Darlene, how long do you think it might ( at a rough guess ) it would have taken to sew the 2 patches, had you worked a little each day? I really want to try to catch up with mine :)

I'm sure back in the old western days it took those women an enormous amount of time to complete these kinds of quilts .They were pretty busy with other work around the home too . Maybe sometimes they had neighbors come and help them . Waste not , want not . Amazing !!

My mom made a 2 inch square quilt in the 60s. She wasn’t a quilter so she did the tie method. I sure wish I had that quilt. I want to try one now.

I love the sound of a sewing machine and scissors cutting, I would def watch your ASMR on this. That's insane how many squares you have done. Maybe Skylar would come and help you with this project. I can't wait to see how it all comes out. Are you ready for this Arctic blast that's going to come through in a couple of days? I got all my errands done yesterday, so I can stay in for a week. Instead of cutting them apart couldn't you chain piece them into 4 patch squares? Love how you are taking us along on this sewing marathon. Maybe a heirloom for Skyler 😍

Can’t do that because many of them would match up to an identical piece, because of the way I sent them through. And some of those chained pieces are a mile long. It will be easier if I snip them all.

I used to sell tons of them and I’m starting to sell them again in my exclusive sales. You may find some selling them on eBay or Etsy. But they’re not available on fabric sites. At least none that I’ve seen.
