still Watching in 2024. A standard bearer concert for everything 80's. No one will have believed KSA performed so beautifully, if it was not recorded and documented. What a legend!

To be honest, sentiments apart, Sunny Ade is the greatest. He's balanced in all areas, he's not just a chorus singer or story teller. God please bless me too like you blessed KSA. Please God lead me into your purpose for my life and let me excel in Jesus name 🙏
The only Musician that comes to KSA when it comes to stage performance and entertainment would be Baba Fela Anikulapo Kuti. I love you Sir KSA, May you live long.
These guys are incredible. I was lucky enough to see them once in the 80's - it was one of the most joyous night of my life. What a freaking dance party!!!

@michaelakinola7144 No Sir. Mr Bob Ohiri did NOT leave the band, till 1984(when he was excused out, by Sunny Aladé) . As an example, Bob(Ohiri) played on ALL 3 albums by Sunny Adé for Britain's ISLAND RECORDS. The said albums are 'Juju Music(1982), 'Synchro System'(1983), and 'Aura'(1984)✅️. You may check on the album/Compact Disc sleeves, to confirm. Peace.
But what you said is UNTRUE👎🏽. Sunny Adé ALWAYS WAS GREAT!! WITH, OR WITHOUT ANY PARTICULAR BAND MEMBER. The said band members were HIS EMPLOYEES, remember😏? ALso, these concerts were rehearsed, with roLes allotted to specific persons by the OWNER and LEADER(Sunny Adé👑).. KSA had the confidence and self assurance to fire many of the said band members(in 1984,the same year this concert happened), because he always knew that the band DEPENDED ON SUNNY ADÉ💯. .. and NOT the other way round🚶🏽♂️🚶🏽♂️🚶🏽♂️. Any submission to the contrary, merely is SENTIMENTAL, and UNTRUE. Peace✍🏽
They were rather privileged to have worked in his band. Sunny would have been whom he is or even more without them. There were thousands of other good instrumentalists who never had the opportunity to join a talented and illustrious man like the KSA.
@michaelakinola7144 , dear gentleman, I definitely ain't no stranger to the African Beats band. I got interested in Sunny Aladé, in the year 1977(the album 'Festac 77', in particular)🎵 . And I sure have listened to, and studied his music, since then. It could interest you to know, that quite a number of the referenced 'band members', are/were personal friends of mine✅️.. Abiodun Fatoke(Pedal Steel Guitar), Sina Abiodun(Congas), Jonah Williams(Piano) were known to me. I also knew Femi Owomoyela(Vocals), and Jelilli Lawal(Bass). One of these gentlemen once told me(in 1998) "In 1984, we felt if we all left Sunny, he'd collapse. We were wrong!".. I do not think you know better than the actual members of KSA's band, Sir. If Sunny Adé had failed/faded away long ago(as many have), NO ONE would have come around saying "we contributed to the failure"😏. Or would they have?? Sunny Adé brought GLAMOUR, and INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION to Juju Music✅️ He introduced CONCERTS and DANCING, to the craft✅️.. Give it to Sunny Adé.. He is the Greatest(and MOST ENDURING) LIVING Nigerian Artiste👑.. And this NEVER was dependent on ANY particular band member. ISÉ OLUWA NI🙏🏼.. Peace.

Yes, King Sunny did an extensive 1984 tour in support of the "Aura" album. I saw him in New York City during the summer with Black Uhuru opening. Advertised as "Reggae Meets Juju." It was a great performance from both bands. I still have the t-shirt and a bootleg cassette recording.

@@michaelakinola7144 so fast tempo makes what shina is playing Afro-Juju? Afro juju is a combination of sounds like funk, pop Jazz. The greats i.e. KSA & Ebenezer Obey have been playing this admixture before Shina's Ace Album. Shina's afro juju tended towards more of Fuji's percussive sound.
