King Truman - Like A Gun (AKA The Style Council)
In 1989, members of The Style Council went under the name of 'King Truman' to release a single on Acid Jazz titled "Like a Gun". Mick Talbot and Paul Weller took pseudonyms Truman King and Elliott Arnold.
Recorded on the sly while contracted to Polydor.
Three days before release, Polydor made them pull the release. About 100 copies had already made it into the shops, 50 were given to DJ's & 20 to press and maybe 30 white labels were made. The rest were destroyed.
