He didn't just coast to it on nothing when he clearly had that star factor and solid street reputation. The feds and police care if people are wading in RICO waters as opposed to hood killings. Police don't often care if gang bangers are shooting each other in impoverished places unless witnesses or whatever else seemingly hands them a layup conviction.
