Lol i remember being scared shitless of this ride and i screamed my damn head off the first time i rode it. Now i love this ride and it's like nothing to me haha
lolololol. Yea it's funny. i always get the pass to skip the line, and i always go on this like 3 times. first time always front row seat, and then after i can't take it..lol i end up in the back. too much.
The drop is pretty scary. You can't see the track for like 2 seconds. That throws me off every time. Its the height.. It looks like you are going to fly off the track.
I remember watching this as a kid and wishing I could experience this ride. It took all the way until September 2022 for me to finally fulfill that dream. It was worth the wait
i got on this yesterday. first time in six flags, or even on a REAL roller coaster to begin with. saw my soul fly out my body after the drop & haven't seen him since :(
On video isnt doesnt look to crazy, but in reality, its quite awesome. The acceleration is intense, and it goes faster and harder than what you're expecting.
Jeff Cirelli agreed. you cant ride this thing from your pc chair. with the upcoming virtual reality, i imagine the feeling will be closer to the experience though.
the day i went was perfect., on and off rain early on.., nobody was there.., got to ride this 7 times :).... once it didn't make it to the hill so we got to roll back down 400 so technically 7.5 times haha
It's hilarious how people constantly lose loose items on this thing. There's a parking lot behind the tower where you'll frequently find smashed phones and glasses.
evilemperordude When my friend rode the Kingda Ka (I was fine with the El Toro), He left his pocket open, and $40 fell, which was all his money, luckily, it was after lunch.
I finally got to visit Great Adventure, after years of just not being able to get there, and knowing Kingda Ka was waiting... I have wanted to ride it since the day they opened it, and I must say it was worth the wait! Without a doubt the most intense coaster I have ever been on!
This isn't so bad! The lift and drop only takes less than 30 seconds lol xD Now, if you don't want to experience that feeling of being unable to breathe, butterflies in stomach, head being flung up and down and side-to-side, and basically seeing your life flash before your eyes because you're sure you would get ejected out of your seat (especially when you ride the back car) while you're 180 feet in the air and riding a wooden coaster (10x more intense than steel ones), and having all these feels for the entire minute and 40 seconds, then avoid *El Toro* at all costs! :D
I’ve been on front row before with my dad, I was scared. When I went on, that drop man, i was crying. My heartbeat went FAST. I was shaking and holding on to the bars with ALL my might. It was the scariest thing and fastest thing I went on it the WORLD. When I got off I was dizzy, but I LOVE that rollercoaster.
I'm going to Six Flags tomorrow and I'm soooo scared of heights and I thought this ride was long but it's short so I think I'll be fine. (shits pants tomorrow)
When you boost off it feels like people are putting weights on your chest and legs put the second you go up you feel as light as a feather. A truly amazing ride.
I just went on this for the first time last week (5-11-17). My favorite part is when it launches out of the gate and ascends like a rocket. The bonus is the cool drop. Definitely wait in line a bit more for the front row. It is more exhilarating than scary as some describe the ride. The rush you get after riding this king of coasters, is unmatched!

Honestly for me, the scariest part about kingda ka was not the height it was that freaking take off. It goes so fast it makes you want to cry real tears! If you’re looking for a thrilling drop Nitro is the way to go. It’s hands down the scariest drop I’ve ever personally experienced in my life.

I went on this ride last spring and was SO PUMPED to ride it, THEN I got on it (I was second thinking myself when I heard that *hissss*)! IT. IS. AMAZING! The view is absolutely beautiful from the top, and the G-Force gets me every time! I still get adrenaline from just watching this!!! Can't wait to go back on it *this* spring!!! ;)
Did you ride kingda ka and if you did was the original queue there and if so where was the entrance to un the only thing i known about it was you walk under the launch track
If you can ride Kingda Ka, you can go bungee jumping. Even though it's an open freefall, it doesn't give you as strong of a stomach feeling as Kingda Ka gives you when it takes off.
emre yayla The feeling you get in your stomach on drops (butterflies) you actually dont experience all that much on the drop for kingda ka because the launch is so intense that you actually get that feeling on the launch instead
ClubBlendi can confirm, after the launch the way down feels like nothing, also you basically become immune to the stomach feeling on other rides because of how fast kingda ka is
I went on that roller coaster today I was talking to almost everyone, was saying that we’re all in this together and my my that made me feel way more comfortable on this ride the anxiety going on this ride is unreal, was holding on that seat for dear life man going up. And surprisingly the drop isn’t even the worst of it, the launch up is and nitros drop is worse in my opinion cause it lasts so long. But everyone watching this go on this ride you’ll appreciate it in the long run live life to the fullest, you only live once people conquer your fears and take it in. Love y’all ❤️
They have a ride exactly like this at Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio. I'm pretty sure it's the exact same format. The ride at CP is called the Top Thrill Dragster. You should check it out! It's a great ride.
Nitro has always been preferred for me over Kingda Ka, it's just too short. Now, if they took out Nitro's climb hill and replaced it with Kingda Ka's launch mechanism and hill, that would be awesome.
I went on it yesterday for the first time ever (I don't mind rollercoasters but some really scare me, for instance this one). I decided because it's the worlds tallest. Damn it kept its record. MAKE SURE YOU KEEP YOUR HEAD BACK the acceleration is unlike no other (video doesn't do it justice). You can't even think and all of a sudden you're staring at the entire park. You can't feel the drop and it's so fun to corkscrew and then it's all over with and you've got some major bragging rights!
Been on this several times. I'm also lucky enough to live right behind this park. I've never experienced a ride like this before. The take off for me is the craziest part, 128mph. Best rush ever!
This ride is just nuts. It's so fast that its not really scary, just crazy, high and fast. 0-128 in 3.5 next thing you know you're 456ft high and before you know it you're back down. Sick ride, worth waiting for the front seat.
i have never been on roller coasters a lot. my friends and i are going to six flags and we are going to go on this ride. repeat: i have never been on a lot of roller coasters. i will die there. (XD)
Who needs to actually ride roller coasters when you can just watch this with a fan in your face? God I was scared just watching. (Severe motion sickness and weak stomach don't mix good)
My mom forced me on this last year and I thanked her so much because this ride is so awesome! Totally riding when I go sometime this week. BTW: If you are a person who likes drops like this, try riding Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom, the ride is build on Kingda Ka and it drops you down the whole way in 10 seconds. 10/10 would recommend
I rode this today. BEST. RIDE. EVER. If you can handle El toro, you can def handle this. but it feels like you're at the top of the world lollllll. I was so pumped.
This video doesn't even begin to show you what it feels like in real life. If you get a really fast Porsche 911 Turbo S PDK, it may do 0-128 mph in 10.6 seconds. Kingda Ka does 0-128 mph in less than 3.5 seconds.
I've been trying to ride this since it opened but it was always under maintenance or it had just broke while waiting on line but finally got to ride it last week.
Does anyone else think that something like this could be used to lead into a massive and awesome rollercoaster after coming down the hill and not end as quickly as it starts? Don't get me wrong it's an epic ride but think about the potential something like this could have!
I rode this back when I was married. When we got into the front seats & up at the top of the hill I quietly uttered "Oh shit !" A split second later my then husband screamed it at the top of his lungs. This was such an awesome ride. I long to go back on it again. Travel Channel did Top 10 Roller Coasters & this was not on the list. How is that even possible ?
I'm panicking WATCHING the video jesus that looks terrifying. I went on the accelerator at Knott's berry and it's a 200ft drop at 90* and goes from 0-80 in like 3 seconds. I was like shitting myself the whole time. Not doing this roller coaster. NOPE
I still remember the first time I rode kingda ka , in 2004. Me and my cousin were only in the fourth grade. Man my heart was beating so hard after the ride and my cousin threw up all over the place after the ride. Lmao good times
NOTHING CAN BE WORSE THAN THIS! THIS IS THE TALLEST ROLLER COASTER IN THE WORLD!! if you don't believe me then look it up, you'll see for yourself.👍 This and NITRO👍 are like the only roller coasters I could ride over and over again without feeling nauseous
You have no idea how awesome this is until you do it. I thought it was over hyped but after my first time I rode it like seven more times. and yeah El Toro is a beast too, probably my favorite roller coaster ever.
El Toro! Best wooden coaster I have ever been on and I’ve also felt that incredible acceleration and enjoyed the view (if only for a second) from 456 feet up on Kingda Ka!!
Omg, how can you stand the feeling of your stomach going up as you drop, if I we're in that dropping part I would puke big time and because of that horrible, at the same time fun feeling when your tummy goes up.
i went on it today and i can tell you it did not have that stomach feeling. honestly not a very scary ride and for some reason nitro was more scary for me even tgough it was only 1/3 as high. the scariest part for me was before the ride even started and i thought i was going to get the feeling in my stomach

Of all the coasters in Great Adventure, the one that stuck with me the most was Viper. That last corkscrew was RIDICULOUS. Too bad they took it down. It was one hell of a brain rattler.
