It ca be dodged two ways either through the reaction command to block it (although I've found it sometimes doesn't work idk why it sometimes doesn't) or if you're fast enough use the move you learn from upgrading wisdom form to dodge it completely
Sephiroth: I see...So that’s a Smash invitation. And I suppose you must be its chosen wielder. Sora: So what if I am? Sephiroth: I wonder if it won’t change its mind - once I defeat you.
@@Craftysage72 and then most people still question even after the zetta flare which only the strongest *BLACK MAGE* can cast. Bunch of people who have negitive brain cells.
He would have died immediately like everyone else if he didnt have the ability that keeps you at 1hp if you are getting combo'd. Second chance i think.
Unless you are using reflect (which you shouldn't need to use to win quite frankly) KH1 sephiroth is far easier. KH2 sephiroth deals MORE damage, attacks faster and with a more varied arsenal, has an hp drain move you CAN'T interrupt (unlike the first one where you can negate sin harvest entirely), and teleports less predictably. In KH1 literally all you have to do to win is jump, hit him 4 times (he always teleports after the 4th hit recieved), dodge. Repeat until he's dead. Time consuming, yes, difficult? hell no. KH1 sephiroth is a level 60 fight tops, even with the kingdom key.
They buffed Sephiroth's arsenal, sure, but the insane mobility and utility you have now than you did in KH1 does more than compensates for that. KH2 Sephiroth can be completely manhandled. Limit form only further reduces the challenge compared to vanilla KH2, where you didn't have a safety net form to fall back on - and arguably the best form at that.
@@TheGriffin1999 defeated him on lvl 52 proud/critical (whatever is the highest difficulty on the base ps2 game). I did however already had experience fighting him.
@@nepspartan-7597It's insane to me that Sora put in the absolute works to barely even scratch Sephiroth. Dude literally said "Wow, you're strong. You ALMOST hurt me."
Sephiroth: Show me your strength. **5 seconds later** Sephiroth: That's enough. Sora gets hit like 5 million times. Sora: Neeeeeaaahhhhh. ♡ O-|-< (Continue) (Load Game)
Then you come back after grinding at Pride Rock for an hour and a half, battle again, press triangle, and Sephiroth: That's enough! Sora: Ha! *DINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINHDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDING*
I should clarify, when I say mashing X I'm referring to the quick sessions of rapid tapping during combos. Though I do incorporate the occasional Square. Just beat Sephiroth on Critical myself, Ultima Weapon and 4 Ribbons. Does wonders for you, trust me.
I also learned a neat trick in that you can interrupt Sephy's ground combo (which he abuses during his "rage" phase) with the utilization of Counterguard. Fairly basic, just successfully Guard and then trigger the counter, he'll get staggered and you get to rip a free combo on him.
I love the one guy who didn't realize "o hey this is optional and I'm underleveled" instead he gets salty and insults the game as a whole. Classic "not my fault i died the games just stupid"
@@jimjo1553 That's fair enough but he's also an optional fight in both and i know for a fact i never ran in to him in kh1 back when i first played it so i could understand the slip up for the first encounter.
Bobby Rare Reflect is best used against the orbs but reglect can be used here as well for extra damage and stun opportunity but it cuts sustain whichis necessary if you're as bad as these guys. Lol
the problem with newbs using it is, they have no knowledge of timings or attack pattern. they are unable to see how broken Reflect is, because they are too busy being one shot due to those reasons.
@@WindyREDPanda I do if he has supernatural powers and can summon a fucking meteor. Besides, calling Sephiroth a "man who went ape shit because of an existential crisis" is a serious misrepresentation of his character and his story. Spoiler: he was still a badass before he went crazy.
90% of these streams: *too busy talking to the viewers to pay any attention to the reaction command* Sephiroth: *Oblivions them to death* Streamers: **Windows Shutdown Noise**
@@GMdelsXT9 It’s mother fucking Sephiroth. If they go in underlevelled and get killed almost instantly that’s their own damn fault and anyone who criticizes the game is just dumb. Sephiroth is not an easy fight, morons!
POTZ Sephiroth in kh 1 casually teleports behind you saying decent heartless angel kingdom hearts 2 floats in the air and says it kingdom hearts 3 stabs you in the chest throws you in the air then casts heartless angel in a black feather that you have to dodge
Sterben06 Gaming yeah in 2, he reduces you to 1 hp no matter what health you are at and there's no way to block, dodge, or otherwise prevent it. You just have to either use cure after every time, or have an ungodly amount of potions. And also, 3 isn't out yet, have they released sephiroth fight gameplay for 3 already?
Richard Noggin Jesus, he's obnoxious. He gets so flustered after the insta-kill. "Is this game's idea of 'difficulty' an insta-kill the second the fight starts?" Dude, you're fighting a superboss...
I mean, it's not even just that he's a superboss. The game gives you a means to prevent the instakill in the fight as well as two abilities that help out.
Pixel Perfect Not sure if it's one of the two you mean, but isn't Reflect basically a hard counter, as well? (Though that one may have been unintentional) I get raging at a game, I really do; but complaining after death ONE. Like, come on...
poobumbutt I was definitely thinking of Once More and Second Chance as hard coounters to instakills. Reflect works but not in every scenario iirc. I'd argue Reflect is definitely an intentional mechanic that just wasn't realized to be as OP as it was.
I beat him at lv 51, like if it was nothing. Meanwhile i didn't beat him on kh1, and i beat only one time Young Xehanort in Birth By sleep, with ventus only. I don't even know how you are supposed to beat him with the others lel
My favorite part is when the music amps up, you manage to survive the first attack, then die moments later while the final words of that first verse “Sephiroth!” trail off as you fade away. It’s like a punctual. You’re never, EVER, going to forget this battle.
They were taking in the awe and the hype of having to fight Sephiroth and didn’t realize that this fight is unlike any other fight and as soon as you can take action at the start of the fight you need to react cause he will kill you. Same thing happened to me and shocked the fuck out of me. I played him a second time and realized it, but again it was obviously designed that way. I mean it’s not hard to understand that concept.
It’s a dick thing to start with, but then again, “reaction” is in the name. Gotta keep on your toes. I survived that first strike only because of equipped abilities.
really lingering will is my favourite boss in the game he is difficult but not unfair in any way i never got angry fighting him ok 2 moves in my opinion are bullshit the punch and the whip could do without them
@@AwesomeDanielStyles Why the punch? You see it coming like 10 million miles away. He basically jogs towards you lol. The whip sucks though especially, really hard to tell when he's going to do it with the exception of when it happens around 5 or so health bars in, lol.
One does not simply fight Sephiroth and be calm about it. I don't really understand why people couldn't hit that reaction command. I don't think they're bad players, and I get not expecting it, but honestly. Reaction commands are a fixture in the game and at this point in the game they've been used over and over. One would think after so much exposure (and the fact you're fighting Sephiroth, for crying out loud), your reflexes would be honed and you'd expect anything.
I couldn't either multiple times. I had to mash triangle to make sure the reaction command registers, 'cause it happens so fast that even if you knew what to do, you'd still get fucked.
I get it man. Figuring out the timing of reaction commands was the hardest part for me, personally. Sometimes, if you do them too early, they don't work, but if you do them too late, they also don't work. This is especially true for the Organization XIII mushrooms at the end of the game. Fuuuuck. I hated those things, jesus.
Richard Sinclair To be fair, a reaction command at the start of a boss fight paired with the fact that the window of time it gives you to press it is so small tends to throw people off on their first try. Myself included. I’ve grown up with the kingdom hearts series and have been playing it literally my whole life, and recently I tried (and eventually 100%-ed) KH2 on critical. When I eventually got to this fight, I knew what was coming and I still died to not reacting fast enough to the reaction command and had to mash triangle the next time I fought him.
Ahhh... I remember my first time fighting him on KH2. Sephiroth: What is Cloud doing? Me voicing over Sora’s comment: Not you. *gets my cheeks clapped*
This is literally one of the biggest "gotcha" moments in games, but I fucking love it. It really sets up how much Sephiroth is not to be fucked with. The attack is only ever unfair if triggered in the sir since you can't block it there.
I feel bad for laughing at their misery, but then again I was in that position too. So I’ll keep laughing as Sephiroth twirls in the air like a majestic one winged angel before he strikes the killing blow.
Meanwhile Cloud is sitting back on the cliff watching these noobs get pwned and chowing down on popcorn, thankful he doesn't have to fight the silver-haired warrior for once.
Damn I'm surprised not a single person was able to react to his "that's enough" attack at the beginning. Even my first blind attempt I was like Oh shit **proceeds to mash triangle**
Took me over 2 months’ worth of failing, practicing, analyzing, failing again, and raging. It wasn’t very pleasant. But when I finally won......oh, sweet victory.....
Nico was in absolute dread since the last fight back in KH1. Terrible memories and Fanboying at the fact that he's fighting the one winged angel yet again.
>people not pressing triangle OK understandable >people dying instantly at level 45 OK understandable >people dying at level 60 Umm..... >people dying at level 90 Bro... if I could beat him at 60 you have no excuse
Ricardo Contreras I took no chances. I didn’t even attempt to fight him until I leveled up all the way and got the ultimate keyblade. I respect his character so much.. it feels nice to lose to him on some small level.
I remember years ago trying to beat sephiroth as a kid. Spent SO LONG trying to figure out his patterns until i finaly defeated him. The sheer amount of happiness was unfathomable
Never thought I'd see myself in a compilation video but wow this brings back memories. I remember I had to grind to way too high of a level to actually beat this because of how bad I was at it XD
I hate when people act like this fight was so easy. Sure it may not be as hard as in 1, but this guy wasn’t a joke like some people pretend. Every video of a sephiroth fight there is a comment saying “I BEAT HIM FIRST TRY ON CRITICAL JUST GEET GUUD AT THE GAME”. Maybe I suck but it took me a while to beat this dude even on standard. He was no lingering will, probably not even on the data fights level...but this dude kicked my ass. One of my personal favorite fights. Just soooo epic!!!
