"It's her! That's the doll that pig-penned me!" "Hamm, take cover!" "I'm on it! One stay at the Dread n' Breakfast was enough for me!" "Not another possessed toy..." "Guys, look alive!"
The violin at 0:15 - 0:27 is the most beautiful and underrated part of the track. It’s so quiet and needs to be louder. It adds to the feeling of “Oh no, I’m panicking! We’re screwed!”
My initial response to hearing this song when the big creepy doll showed her face was "Yeaaaaah! Tension Rising and a boss fight!" But, upon further reflection, I ended up being kind of mad about the placement of the song there. Tension Rising has historically been a song used for Nobodies! This was thematically inappropriate!
If it's any consolation, young xehanort draws a parallel between Nobodies and the toys in this world (and yx himself has a bit of loose-end Nobody foreshadowing still hanging around him)
@@TheDisarminghinkle Just him being associated with Nobodies, aside from his emotionless demeanor. Idk if it's enough to say for sure that he IS one though. As early as his keyblade apprenticeship, he wore the armor covered in Nobody sigils that Xemnas/No Heart wears (the only difference in Dark Road is that it has the additional heart emblem on the helmet). On top of that, during his first walk through the realm of darkness he alludes to a future emptiness he's going to experience, while he's passing through "someone else's darkness" (callback to the Toy Box cutscene - One's darkness fills the emptiness of another). We also don't know which xehanort is narrating the walk, as that's the only time so far in DR that the overlaid-text narration is in past tense.
@@TheDisarminghinkle dang the more I think about this little side note the more I'm thinking maybe the choice to re-arrange Tension Rising for this fight really was more meaningful than it seems at first glance 🤨
So chilling for a theme played in a toy story world. Damn..I know he’s not Disney but imagine having to fight a out of control Steven Universe (Pink Steven) with this
Mission (Illyeria): Help Ky Kiske get past the brainwashed soldiers! (Ideas for this thing: Malecifent is the main threat, while Happy Chaos is an issue due to summoning various unversed-esque creatures based around emotion. Ky Kiske and Chipp Zanuff are party members, with Chipp sneaking aboard the Gummi ship afterwards and becoming a permanent member that can replace Donald or Goofy at a save point and before worlds. The boss would be an emblem heartless that somehow fused with an unversed, and would carry the asthetics found in the New York stage in GGS. The reason Sora Donald Goofy are there is that there's a Keyblade master there, who is Slayer. Happy Chaos likes what's happening and becomes a general nuisance for both sides from that point onwards.)
Sora: Huh where are the others? *Faith and CJ arrived * Sora: Faith! CJ! You guys are okay! CJ: Yeah you know we are okay! Faith: always help a friend. *they saw a shadow version of Sora in rage form and attacks Sora but Olley saves Sora and gets hit by the shadow* Olley: Ah!! Sora:Olley! CJ:No! Sora we need to take this guy out! Sora: Right! Information: Team up with CJ and Faith to defeat the Shadow Sora. Use Sonic Blade to create a opening and keep Olley if Olley is defeated. Use curega to heal Olley!
