@@kev1nno I agree I did on proud first and got my ass handed to many times doing the data organization "thanks xion" ya I got very lucky and beat vantus, Larxene, young xehanort, and Marluxia. Not to mention the 5 to 6 hrs for yozora. Then I replayed it on critical a least 50 attempts "most definitely a lot more" I only beat yozora on critical thanks to the Arial strat on his last few bars of Health. And I'm not doing pro code yozora/organization any time soon lol.
Me too as I was playing through I knew I wasnt going to replay it. Felt empty hit the platinum and I put it down for good. Maybe because I'm older and dont have as much time but I played 1 and 2 multiple times and enjoyed them thoroughly playing e felt like a contractual obligation
I'm not sure I can put into words how disappointing this entry was. Everything about this game was a miss for me. I bought the DLC in hopes that it would improve my experience. Unfortunately, it didn't.
The generation that adored the first 2 games have already grown up. I was 10 when I first played the original game and it was one of the most mind blowing experiences I have ever had....playing a Disney inspired game at the age of 27 is not the same. Had this game came out at in 2012 at the latest I think I wouldVe enjoyed it more. But as an adult with real world responsibilities, the cheesiness is much more noticeable in a game like this lol
@@mrdarkstar3756 But that's the painful part about all of this. It shows that they know how to make an amazing game. And that they know how to create great battle systems, side quests, and character development. So why did KH3 have to turn out so badly?
I’ll never forget the Yozora fight. I broke my hand and tried beating him for weeks with only one hand, until it finally happened and I was so incredibly proud of myself. Made the cutscene that much more confusing but enjoyable lol
I read this and thought for a second that you fighting Yozora was how you broke your hand, then continued to fight him and thought "Damn this guy's committed"
Though hours of despair, madness and barely restrained rage I finally managed to defeat the Data Organization XIII members and Yozora on critical mode when the DLC came out. Now all I have to do is get the last DLC trophy with the Pro Codes. BUT I am earring it on Easy Mode because I'VE PAIED MY DUES and the thought of Challenging Yozora on Critical with all the Pro Codes on terrifies me to no end. If I ever decide to play KH3 in the near future I''ll definitely do so on Critical but turn on the EZ Codes when I get to the Re:Mind Data fights thank you very much. Now to wait another 20 years for Kingdom Hearts 4, looking forward to that with my future kids.
I tried the data organisation on critical but then hopped over to my proud save file because I wanted to beat the DLC and avoid spoilers. Congratulations on handling them on critical!
When I saw Jirard say "55 deaths" I was like... yeaaaaaah he didn't do it in critical mode haha. That's not a knock against him though, he definetely completed the game. Even did the Pro codes stuff. And congrats to you for finishing all the Data Org and Yozora in critical !! I did it too and yeah... That was an experience
I got the trophy for that and if you want, I can help with a strategy, though you may not like the ONE option near the end before you challenge the data battles with the pro codes. You wanna know what I did?
@@kev1nno Definitely! Haha honestly, Yozora was quite possibly the most satisfying boss to fight in the entire series for me, especially learning how to punish him during his desperation attack.
This video honestly came out at the perfect time. After playing kh1, 2 and bbs and not understanding any of it as a kid. I decided to buy both the collections, kh3 and the DLC. I just finished mainlining all of the games for the story including the movies and all up it took me 180 hours. So blown away by what you put into this game. I am going to go back and do a bunch of the extra bosses and content in kh 1, 2 and 3 but wow dude. Good freaking effort w this one. Keep it up
Damn it! Outer Worlds, FF7, and now KH3. Everytime you release a video, I've been 2 days from completing them myself. One day, kemosabe, one day, I'll finish one before the king
So glad you liked it Jirard, in my opinion, Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts 3 have the best combat in the entire series with the best superbosses in the entire series. Many of the big named KH players praise both the Data Organization fights and the ultimate secret boss of both games as some of the best boss fights in the series, and I agree and hope you see why whenever you re-complete KH2FM. My only real complaint for KH3's combat is that the Summons/Links are too broken powerful on Critical and would like them to deal a bit less damage to avoid people spamming them instead of learning, and the Block command doesn't always work and should be fixed, the latter one ESPECIALLY. I would argue that Attractions are also too powerful, but you can turn them off if you want on Critical and they actually aren't as broken at LV 1 runs from what I heard among people like Bizkit047 and Bl00dyBizkitz. Story wise I liked the closer KH3 had on the Dark Seeker/Xehanort Saga, but do admit the entire saga has some problems. Personally, I don't think it's as confusing and complex as others make it sound. But then again, I've seen some series with a far more confusing plot, than this. But story isn't for everyone and I accept that, I still enjoy it. My only wish moving forward is planning the story, because if I remember in reading some of Nomura's interviews, he wrote the story for each game when it came time to work on it. That unfortunately lead to some of the confusion, plot holes, and retcons this current saga has. What I am saying is I think Nomura should instead sit down, make a full outline of what his beginning and end goal is for the next saga, mark down notes for him to look back to as refreshers each new game, and such. Writing a plot as that game/movie is being developed isn't easy, but it can work as the Infinity Stone/Thanos Saga of the MCU has shown us.
Kingdom Hearts 3 is a game that, while flawed, I hold dear to my heart for several reasons. I'm glad you enjoyed it so much, Jirard. It's a shame that the PRO Codes pretty much ruined your experience. They were definetely an addition for speedrunners and veterans who wanted an even harder experience, not something meant for Completionists. But you had to do what you had to do... I can't wait for the New Game Plus episode of KH2. KH2 Final Mix is considered the best game in the entire series and it fixes a lot with what was wrong with Vanilla KH2. I think you'll really enjoy completing that one! P.S: DAMN I know it's been a tradition of yours to combine DKC music with a song from the game you're reviewing but that Dearly Beloved + Aquatic Ambience remix got me tearing up. It's just so beautiful, man. Kudos to Ben for that!
Eh, KH2 personally ruined the entire series for me. Adding in organization 13 was the single worst decision and I still stand by it all these years later
I wrote it off as "that kids game that, for some reason, has merchandise in emo stores" and moved on. Then I listened to "Don't Think Twice" during E3 '18 and now I get the Hot Topic aspect.
The game was fun when it came out, but here in the USA we are WAY BEHIND on story. Also, micro transactions and VIP really turned it into pay-to-win. When the game launches it wasn’t that heavily implemented.
It would've been extremely out of place. The narrative called for the one and only battle against the Organization being the final fated battle at the Keyblade Graveyard. The "mid-game" in KH2 was honestly just an excuse to not fight all the org members in an epic gauntlet at The World That Never Was. Thats my opinion at least. Though I do love the 1000 Heartless fight and fighting with the Restoration Committee; I think that should've been all there was. I never had an issue with kh3's pacing myself, and ReMind made it even better (data org hype!). I think a lot of people are still nostalgic for KH2 is all. Not a bad thing at all but its healthy to not let it cloud judgement for a different game. Nostalgia can be dangerous.
I personally thought the pacing was actually fine. Aside from the part where you rescued Ven and Aqua. That section felt weird pacing wise. If got way better after that tho
This series has been with me most of my life and to basically have every game on PS4 is just great I love going back to all these games and experienceing and re-experiencing these titles.
Nice review. But here are some minor corrections: Aqua was playable in vanilla. In departure land you fight Vanitas as her. Technically, you fight as all guardians of light in the Remind episode. The battlegates came in the vanilla game, the battles that came in the DLC were the Limicut episode with the data org XIII. It is said that the world where you fight Yozora is actually based in the "The world ends with you" videogame. And yeah, that Procode trophy is a pain in the rear to obtain
@@slobertooth1358 as far as I know the 104 building is actually a 109 building in the real life's Shibuya... so 104 is unique to TWEWY's version of Shibuya
@@gamingguy731 A quote from Nomura on if it's TWEWY: "It does look like it. But there's more meaning in the fact that it is not Shibuya (written with kanji), but Shibuya (written with katakana). Also, Sora promised Neku and the others in KH3D that he would meet them in Shibuya (written in katakana), but that doesn't mean it's directly connected to this movie."
@@TitaniumSalvage Well it's just that apparently Numora referenced his two argubely best projects "TWEWY" and "FFVersusXIII" in these KH3 movies but denied they have anything to do with the actual games... so I'd assume it's just his toxicity at this point lol
But when using pro codes, you didn't need to turn them all on for every boss battle. I got the pro code trophy before fighting data Xion, Xehanort, and Yozora. Unless you wanted the extra challenge to say that you did it.
Same, it reminded me a a lot of getting the RYNO in Ratchet and Clank. You have to go through a ton of frustrating objectives but once you get the weapon, boy is it really worth it.
out of all of the Kingdom hearts i've platinumed, the only one which was a ballache to do (mainly since it was BORING!!!) was chain of memories, the grind to 99 and getting every card was so RNG heavy i nearly lost the will to complete it.
Congratulations! I've done it and it requires patience. The numbered titles are definitely the most pleasant to platinum. Re:CoM and BBS are really tough to grind out the platinum on.
They were worse on the PS3 needing to play 1 and Re:COM on every difficulty instead of just playing through once on proud. BBS was the worst in my opinion I'm still working on it for PS4 only needing to bear critical mode but going platinum twice ruined my enjoyment of the game.
Honestly I did enjoy this game to an certain extent (especially with the space section holy fuck that was fun and the best out of any game of this series) and was happy go see this saga end but I honestly think I enjoyed KH2 more overall. I think it has more to do with how they approached that game compared to this one with how the story is handled, the particular worlds and how they connect in regards to the plot, the FF characters' roles, and the fun battle system that it had. Honestly I think I would play KH2 more often than any other KH game even tho I enjoyed this time but it didn't feel as special to me in the matter that 2 felt. I don't disagree with your points however.
I love this game but THEY NEED an option to skip the mini games. That pirates of the carribean ship level was fucking horrible and not fun at all and there's so many bullshit minigames that they force you to play. Like i just want to enjoy the game stop making me play these gay ass mini games ffs. Half the time they're plain cheap and unfair or just tedious. Also let us turn off Disney attractions. At first they're cool and they look super nice but they get annoying fast. So many times I try to use a spell but the disney attraction pops up instead
important to note, you DO NOT need to play thru all boss fight with ALL the pro codes on to get the trophy. if you have them on for the easy disney bosses you can turn some of them off for the harder org fights and still get the trophy
this makes me soooooo happy!!!! the Kingdom Hearts Series changed me and my life for the better and to see the love it keeps getting... makes me so incredibly happy
One thing, information wise. The 104 building is The World Ends With You equivalent of the 109 building, which is in Tokyo. So Sora isn't in our world, he is in another Square Enix property, which was also influenced by Tetsuya Nomura (Kingdom Hearts' director).
@@BobbyTheGamerOfJUSTICE Sucks that it didn't feel like an ending to a saga and still a continuation though. Should've closed the arc how they close arcs in anime, completely. Don't show off a new antagonist until the next game. But, ah well, it was still fun.
@@insanedrummer13 The biggest problem wasnt really showing the new villain, we already knew about him and all of that. The worst part was that this game had so much focus on talking and showing things to set up the next saga. If the game was a real ending of the saga, and then showed the Xigbar secret movie and the Shibuya secret movie that would be enough of a tease of the next saga. But instead, with how much content they had to cut because of Square and Disney, the focus of this game turned into reminding us that there will be more games for them to milk us.
Doubtful because there was much backlash with this one. In fact it was so bad that I have lost the desire to even play this one as well as any of them past BBS. the app is crap enough, however Squeenix needs to fill the plot holes in and stop adding more. They also need to hire a great editing staff for this series.
Kingdom hearts may have started out as a crossover game between two unlikely entities, but it has now become something so much more, it has became its own entity. First time I played through the game, I didn't even realise the absence of the final fantasy characters, because all of the original characters can now carry the series and the story by themselves. However the original Final Fantasy crew should be integrated more in future games but, Kingdom hearts can now stand on its own with its original characters, and maybe Donald and Goofy too, and I feel like that is something truly special.
I wish we got more of the Guardians. Maybe the ability to use them against data org or battle gates. I had high hopes the code menus would allow us to use them on the fly. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I agree with you about those pro codes. Already having the platinum for the vanilla game just doesn't cut it, but jeez... Makes me want to tear my hair out.
While the Attractions were neat, I still would have liked to know where they came from. We got an explanation for Sora's change of clothing in KH2 but here we get to summon Disney rides for no reason? When the trailers revealed the Attractions I figured we'd get to go back to Disney Town from Birth by Sleep and do mini games featuring the rides before getting to summon them with a 'lifetime access' to the rides or something.
"Kingdom Hearts' story isn't confusing, it's just a lot to remember. " -Superbutterbuns Also, isn't the MCU one connected storyline? If you can follow those, you can follow this just fine.
@@mikashi1593 Exactly the paralles are there X is the Old Republic mixed with an orignal plot, BBS is the Prequels, KH1 and CoM are an orignal plot, 358 is similar to Rouge One, kh2 is a new hope, coded is an add for 3D, 3D is the empire strikes back, and 3 is basically Return of the Jedi only leading back into the orignal plot started in X
@@demi-fiendoftime3825 yeah. Especially BBS, the one that made me think straight to Star Wars (Dream Drop Distance not really made me think of that). The whole mastery exam looked like Rey and Kaylo Ren trained under Master Luke Skywalker. But Darth Vader took Ren. Oh wow this is epic!!! XD But KH3, there's also Dark Souls vibes just like ppl said XD
No because you have to play other games besides 1, 2, and 3. The MCU movies are all movies. It would be the same if you were REQUIRED to watch TV shows, read comics and books, and even play video games to get the entire story. Not to mention that the entire story itself is a confusing mess ignoring everything you need to do to actually hear it. Only now with the rereleases can you get the info easily and even then you have to actually play the games and get secret endings and read a semi reports and such. So no, definitely not just remembering a lot of stuff.
In the future I want to see them utilize more FF characters, but also older Disney properties. I think the Rescuers would be a perfect summon, and I think it’d be easy to add the Great Mouse Detective or Darkwing Duck to a place like Traverse Town or Hollow Bastion. And PLEASE let us meet Max Goof next time.
so glad to see u doing this and giving it more love then many others don't give it QWQ also the reason it leaves more questions is because we are far from done...and tbh? I'm happy. I love this series, and I cannot wait to see what Nomura punches us with next xD all i can say is Yozora is already making out to be interesting as Nomura gets his dig back for having 15 taken from him xD
This was easily my favorite game of the series and I can't wait to see where it goes from here. Pro codes were stupid, yes, but felt super cool to finish stuff with them on.
Really happy there are still people out there who give this game some love I am a KH through the ups and downs and people focus to much on the negative to really appreciate the game underneath
@@onlyacomentarynothingspeci2419 People aren't really focusing on the negative as they are recognizing the flaws of the game. I've been playing kingdom hearts since KH1 on the PS2, and multiple times on my first playthrough of KH3 I kept thinking 'this is boring'. It's okay to be disappointed just like it's okay to love the game.
@@ZuppaD.Cipolle Incorrect. Versus XIII was scrapped, and the assets were used to make XV. However, the finished product has as much to do with Versus XIII as a recycled egg carton has to do with the newspaper it was made out of.
@@klatnyelox9140 IN fact you are incorrect, it was only canceled as a spinoff and turned into a main game, they even kept large pices of the story Nomura started on "never bothered finishing". @@anouk356 after FF7 remake. I can safely say that Nomura needs to get his head out of his ass with his story decisions. KH3 was a mess in terms of its story and now he's deciding to change up the story of FF7 right at the end which no one asked for (although the game was great for the most part). I would argue the FFXV would have ended up worse had he been left direct it himself.
Remind's new content was so fulfilling. Kairi got her time to shine finally, the data battles were epic and a great farewell to the OrgXIII, and for real though it gets overlooked, the Data Greeting feature was fucking fun as hell. I made so many of those, all kinds of crazy poses and scenarios with the cast. Well worth the price of the DLC all told.
Jirard I'm not a long time fan, but I really love your work. I feel like you're a very genuine guy and I really like to hear you talk about a passion that unites us all, videogames. But when I found out you're a KH fan, it made me like you even more. Thanks for the quality content, I know it isn't easy, and that the platform isn't the best, but you have to remember, you are living out dream, so keep your head up high brother. Love from Portugal, hope you and your crew appreciate the message!
I have a weird relationship with Kingdom Hearts. There's parts of it I genuinely enjoy, even in the story, but there's also another part of me with a morbid curiosity of just how fucking bananas Nomura can continue to make it. I want both the touching emotional moments to punch me in the gut as hard as they can and also the full cringe and awkward-ass lines.
The main problem with the pro codes is restricting basic functionality in combat. No links, cures, items, shotlocks, team attacks, formchanges, or attraction flow. It basically leaves you with normal attacks, airstep, flowmotion, and like 6 spells over the course of a boss fight. Almost everything that made the combat exciting and fresh was removed. So trying to beat the game with all the pro codes turned on just sucks. It's one of the hardest challenges you'll face, but it's not a very fun challenge so you lose interest in it quickly.
I have beaten the game with the risk taker trophy, and my best advice is this: -You only need them on for the bosses, and NONE of the keyblade graveyard bosses require you to use them (except for the first triple xehanort fight and the final boss) -play in beginner -doing the main game bosses with all pro codes on makes the remind data fights that much easier since you can turn some off
@@damastasamsta8740 It's not an issue of difficulty in beating the challenge, it's that the challenge is "Let's remove all the functions of combat that make this game fun and exciting." If they had more stuff along the lines of HP Slip and MP Slip, and less along the lines of no attractions no healing no items no summons no team attacks, it would be much better. Imagine if one of the pro codes caused enemies to regenerate HP over time, so you have to out DPS their regen, another slowed the progress of the situation guage, leaving you with fewer commands over the fight, a third caused your healing commands to restore health over 10 seconds instead of instantly. Now these challenges are interesting and fun, but just as difficult.
hindsight being 2022... ive been hearing a lot of crap since the day it came out and i still havent bought it cause i want to beat every KH game before 3 and im also dreading it cause of how bad people are making it out to be. then... i watched this video. someone actually talking positive about the game and now im a bit more excited to play KH3 when i get to it. love you jirard you absolute bearded legend
I was so worried you weren't going to like KH3. I think I have had 58 deaths on most of the Data Real Org XIII. And 58 on the critical Dark Inferno. I'm always impressed with how few deaths you get. I'm mostly good with how the stories are presented. There's something about the balls to the walls incomprehensible nature of it all that I'm a big fan of. I haven't even touched the pro codes. I can't even beat Yozora on Normal difficulty. Ahhh, another great video!!
OH MY GOD. FINALLY. Thanks Jirard, I love Kingdom Hearts series, since I was a kid and play the First cause of Donald and loved the plot and gameplay, and the Kingdom Hearts III Just was PERFECT (for me ok guys, you can have your opnion okay), I have been waiting for you complete this for a long time. Not opinion, KH 3 story is objectively bad, when a game nowadays has a story that loses to a game from ps2 era, you know its shit, fuck Square and Disney for destroying KH 3.
@@KKarkatVantas Well it's a good thing the entire gaming media is sold on the ability called "gameplay" rather than story then as story is something you can get in literally every media format there is...
Finally. Been waiting forever for this. I only 100% the Mickey games, recipes, treasures, and lucky emblems. Took a few months but probably a few days for Jirard cause you know. He completes games for a living.
I discovered The Completionist at a very dark time in my life. My family was going through a rough patch and I felt from time to time that I was completely alone. During those long stretches of time where I had nothing to do and no one to talk to, these videos would make me laugh. They were fun and different, something fascinating. And I remember watching and rewatching the Kingdom Hearts videos over and over. This... feels like the end of an era. Finally the channel that first got me to play the Kingdom Hearts games has dont a video on KH3, a game that’s very close to my heart. And i’m just... happy to see how it’s all turned out. I’m happy to have this video in my notifications, and i’m sure to watch it time and time again.
I admit I have very selective video game interests and, because of that, have not been interested in the vast majority of games he completes. I’ve loved and respected his videos and work that goes into them, often rewatching the few games he’s reviewed that I like. It wasn’t until his recent videos talking about view count and channel health that I realized the important of me supporting a RU-vidr I enjoy: Simply watching the vids. So, while I do not care about Kingdom Hearts, his videos are still entertaining and very well put together that I can just enjoy the ride 😎 Thank you for the videos, The Completionist!!
Kingdom Hearts 3 was actually never meant to be the ending of kingdom hearts. It was stated to be the end of of the Xehanort saga which it does (besides the mobile game that goes over events that already happened). I'm excited for what this franchise has for the future but I hope after the 2-3 side games and eventually KH4 that this series can finally conclude.
did you ever film your let's play of kingdom hearts 3? I would love to watch it! I realize that there is still so much of the game I didn't get a chance to see, so watching your let's play of it would be awesome and help me out as well.
Minus like 3 fights, I honesty loved playing through with the pro codes. They forced me to really learn fights. And since they are available on every difficulty, it made the trophy pretty easily accessible
I'm with you on that one, mate. I've even reached the point where I can fight the data battles and Yozora with at least 10 pro codes and it is so satisfying.
If they had named the "spin-off games" kingdom hearts 3 through whatever, no one would care. The spin-off games are just as important to the plot, and the gameplay is usually great.
For the pro codes, I think I saw that you don't have to have EVERY code on to get the trophy, and that you don't have to play through every encounter in the entire game, and can just go against the superbosses with most of them on and get the trophy as they award a lot more points. Probably the fairest and more rewarding way to play, as it's just one on one fair fights instead of potentially cheap battles that aren't scaled or designed with them in mind. Also if you were to go through them in the main story, it's just for the bosses so you can have them off during exploration. On another note, did you even play the superbosses at all? No mention whatsoever? Guessing you had ez codes on but those were some of the greatest parts of KH3 as a whole experiencing every attack and finding all of the punishes and stuff. You really get further immersed in the combat and the music of each one is intense and satisfying.
The last two data battles absolutely broke me emotionally, and I've yet to even beat Yozora. I love these damn games so much, but completing them is not an option for me.
@@KKarkatVantas Ok? Thats your opinion and I respect that but why do you have to go out of your way to be an asshole to someone just stating they liked the game? They didn't ask for an argument, they didn't even mention the story.
@@Miriam_J_ First, its not opinion, its objectively bad, it loses to KH 2 a game that is from PS2 era. Second, yes I do, because everyone who sings this game praises, just help Square and Disney be sure that this shit is good, so they will make Nomura repeat this formula, and my favorite saga of all time will turn into just another piece of shit mediocre saga. So yes, dont care if everyone hates me or think Im a douche or whatever. I will keep stating that KH 3 is shit, so more people also do it, and then maybe, only maybe, we can fix this and the future of KH can be good.
@@Miriam_J_ Oh and them not mentioning story only makes my point stronger, because EVERYONE who likes KH story should hate how awfull KH 3 story is, if they dont? They probably only liked KH for the gameplay, which is fucking stupid, because the main focus and the most important thing in KH is, story. If you dont play KH for the story, then you have no right to make any opinion on it other than the gameplay, you cant even say if the game is good or not, because you will give a good score to a shit game or a shit score to a good game, like happened with other KHs that have amazing story but bad gameplay.
I 100 percented this game about a year ago and I still play it to this day and have multiple max level and lvl 1 profiles across all difficulties and I love this game
Victor Vaz well I platinumed a couple so that took a bit, but I just meant following a lot of the story points lol. They made it a bit tough to follow but I loved it.
@@velvet_victor I know this is a completely unrelated comment but I played through the series and I have mixed feelings. The first game did not age very well, though bosses and other elements are fun. KH2 is one of my favorites, though. The story throughout all of them can be downright terrible at times, and the gameplay throughout all of them can vary in quality. 2, 3, and dream drop distance have some of my favorite gameplay (though dream drop distance story was so hard to follow). Khux is a mobile game, but for some reason the main story for it is one of the best in all of KH (included original KHX translated) but it's so inaccessible for gameplay. So I have an attachment to it but there's so many things in the series that just don't work, or are a worse version of previous games
Finishing Critical Mode is so satisfying because if it’s after the free patch same time as the Remind DLC you can get the keenly anticipated Oblivion Keyblade,
I remember when I was 6 years old and my sisters friend showed me the KH3 teaser for the first time and I was really excited (even though I only played Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days and re:coded at the time cause I only had a ds) I forgot about it until 2016 when I found a RU-vidr called Gamersjoint and he talked about KH3 and what can be in it. Fast forward to 2020 and KH3 re:mind came out and I still don't have a PS4 or PS5 (yet) but I will always love this series for it's amazing gameplay and it's story and the joy I got from playing the games.
Nice adachi pfp. Also, i entered this fandom in the weirdest way possible. in 2016 or so, i was on amazon, and saw KH2.5 for the PS3, and said "that's cool". Here I am.
I'm super excited that you made a completionest episode on KH3. I have been invested in this series since the begining. I have completed the base game and the trophies, but have yet to play the DLC. I look forward to playing all the characters now including Kairi. Thanks for another great episode.
You're in for a real treat if you haven't touched the game since launch. The 1.09 patch added some new combo modifiers that make Sora feel like a faster version of his KH2 self. That patch also adds Oathkeeper (you need to find all the lucky emblems to unlock it, which you said you have) and Oblivion (you need to beat Critical Mode to unlock it).
This is my second favorite Kingdom Hearts game, with Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix being number 1. I honestly feel like this game gets so much hate just because it isn't Kingdom Hearts 2.
@@Ashurman666 Maybe in the early 2000s. Look up some stuff. Final Fantasy was only added in as a last ditch effort to draw in FF fans to a new game. If they saw familiar faces, they'd be interested. It was marketing. KH2 was rightfully the last game that FF characters should've been used. Nomura even said that in KH3 he didn't want them to not have a place in the story so he didn't add them until ReMind (even though they still had no place in the story lol). KH has evolved into its own overarching narrative. Disney is still kind of necessary because its always been a fun part of the game, but FF was only ever fanservice.
I've never played any of the other Kingdom Hearts games, but I played Kingdom Hearts 3 right when it came out, then played it again when Re-Mind came out along with the DLC content, and I really enjoyed it both times. The gameplay is endlessly fun, and I found myself eagerly jumping into almost every encounter I could find. The different keyblades add so much variety, and picking your favorite to upgrade to beast mode feels so satisfying. The words are huge and satisfying to move through thanks to flowmotion: very few times did I find myself getting lost. My favorite worlds the second time around was actually one of my least favorites in my first playthrough: Pirates world. The second time I played the main story, I explored every island, and collected a ton of rare materials, and it made the world a lot more fun.The Gummi ship sections are nice too, although I still rushed past nearly all of them. The main story is admittedly really stupid, but in an endearing and hilarious way: I actually wasn't too confused, since I watched up a bunch of lore videos beforehand, and made it a point to watch every cutscene on my first playthrough. Plus, I think the original stories of the Toy Story world, Monsters Inc world, and Big Hero 6 world. I don't have too many problems with the main game, only that the extra content feels unnecessary and I never came back to it until the DLC, but Re-Mind was a lot worse. The extra scenario was mostly just the same endgame from the original, but again, and was very boss heavy, though it does end on a high note. Everyone has been raving over the data battles, but these were far too hard for me on Proud difficulty, and I kind of resented that they locked story content away from me. I don't like it when story content is locked behind extremely hard challenges. Someday I think I'll play this game one more time with the EZ Codes so I can finally finish those data battles.
So many guides said you couldn’t get the Ultima Keyblade till after beating the game and now I see they weren’t stating a fact but an opinion the ultima mopped the floor with the organization the closest I got to death was fighting Ansem, Xemnus, and young Xehanort at the same time
Ikr although it was really close to endgame, I got the ultima weapon after arriving and using the save point in scala ad calem. Whooped xenanorth in the final fight
Kingdom hearts in general is one of the greatest stories that I've ever experienced, and I've experienced a lot of stories. Even though, I think KH2FM is the best KH game, KH3 was still extremely good. The ending keyblade war was actually GREAT. The emotion, the fact that Square and disney had the balls to show everyone die and darkness actually winning. That was incredible. The Lucky emblems were such a great addition. I dont agree, keep making the story as it is. Trying to focus the story so it's easier for people to understand would ruin many aspects. This story allowed us to have deep connections with the characters. Everyone was stressed about Aqua, felt for Ven and mourned for Roxas. Shoot, I even had a soft spot for the villains and Xehanort being one of my favorite characters of all time. This story is amazing.
Yeah, you must have not experienced many stories if you think Kingdom hearts is the greatest. Because in every possible way, kingdom hearts is a very trash story when it comes to storytelling. You must not care
I mean... bless your dedication and the intensity of it. Good on you if you rate the story that highly. ... but the kingdom hearts story is demonstrably one of the most contrived piles of lazy melodramatic hack bullshit writing my dude. Fun games to play, fuckin, GREAT games to play, but the story is pish.
@@bubbafontleroy There's are a good amount things kh story messes up on. Story details aren't explained properly, things get retconned, over-explained, over-complicated, characters never die, motivations change etc but it's still a really good series. They have great gameplay yeah but that's not the full reason why there's like 8 or 9 different entries in this series. People love these characters, they love the struggles they go through, they connect with these characters and the story is entertaining and has a number of great moments as well. It's easy to hate on it but you also gotta understand people like it for a reason. And honestly at this point the story is also so all over the place people can like it for that reason as well. Trust me, I admit it's not perfect either and most fans will admit that too, but it's still a good story.
@@gamelegendalpha1737 its not a good story because of all the things you listed. A story cant be good if it has that many problems with it. People can like what they like, but the story isn't good at all.
Man I wish I liked this series, but KH has always just put me off every time I try to get into the main games. Maybe someday I'll get through them all haha. Great video as always bud!
KH 3 is Awful, Just Play these 3 games and your are done. KH 1 If you don t like kh 1 chances are this series is not for you, then play OR watch Chain of memories, Then Play KH 2 Final mix+ The Best in the franchise and still is and lastly we have the prequel Birth by sleep which is probably the longest to 100% complete because u need 3 playthrough at 100% each.
I wouldn't listen to this guy since he said KH3 was awful without giving any reason and overhypes KH2. I say, give KH1 a try. If you didn't like it, well, at least you tried it before you knocked it. After KH1, play Chain of Memories, KH2 and then 358/2 Days.
For me, Kingdom Hearts 3 is one of my favorite video game. Its beautiful, we want stickin it. Okay the story give me some headache but SQUARE seriously gave a awesome product with it. I just remembered me talking my friends how this game kicks a** and i their look at their face laughting when I told Im on Disney's story but I know, bottom in my heart, in few years, when my niece(aged 6 now) Will come visit her uncle saying @Can we play this beautiful game please!@ I will told her proudly......Sure thing lets begin this story!!!
I have to say that besides everyone that wasnt happy with kh3 it actually fulfilled something in me after growing up with the series and then going back to replay them all on xbox and being able to actually fully understand all the parts i couldnt when i was younger and seeing how kh3 end felt like a bittersweet goodbye to my childhood but i was happy to have experienced such a series with so many others feeling the same.
I'm in the minority that likes this game more than KH2. Personally, i like all of the options and new things that this combat brings to the table over KH2. Also, i like actually having areas to explore instead of every level being a flat disc arena or a hallway. KH2 is still a solid game, but 3 does some things better, and of course some things worse. 3 just jives with me more, y'know?
