Seeing that Namine's drawings are from the moments when Kairi was seen in KH1 finally explains them. Also, I don't know how many people ever noticed this, but Meg is there to help against the Hydra. She waits on the other side of the holes in the side walls to throw HP, MP, and drive orbs during the fight when Sora gets close. I feel that KH2 tries hard to include major Disney characters in events and battles as much as they can. All of Beast's servants except Chip, Phil, Meg, Pegasus, Minnie, Abu, Carpet, Lock, Shock, Barrel, Timon, and Pumba all have some gameplay attached to them in at least one instance. Even Pete! Past Pete I mean. Mulan really only had Ping though...
Gonna make this an actual comment too, but this comment is relevant to mine so I'm posting it twice: I don't see anyone mention this, and it's just speculation, but in the World That Never Was, in the Ruin and Creation's Passage room, it appears as though the Organization is attempting to create their own Dive to the Heart, what with the disconnected pillars and the appearing pathways between them~
The Bouncer is my favorite PS2 game and one of my all-time favorite games in general, I’m so glad you covered the Dog Street tribute in this video! The Bouncer is an underrated gem-I think it’s one of Square Enix’s best titles (their absolute best in my opinion). I’d love to see The Bouncer be represented on a greater level in future KH games! Dog Street isn’t just the primary setting in The Bouncer, it’s also a fashion brand that the main character, Sion Barzahd, is a big fan of. Sion wears a red Dog Street hoodie, which correlates with Pence’s red Dog Street jersey in Kingdom Hearts II. Other characters in The Bouncer wear Dog Street clothing as well, like Dominique’s rain coat or Volt’s wrist watch. The Dog Street logo design also differs greatly between The Bouncer and KH II-the original design features Angelo, Rinoa’s dog in Final Fantasy VIII.
I noticed the unicorns in the Mansion, but never made the connection to KHUX. You think there is no link, but now you mention it, I am pretty sure there is. I mean, otherwise, why would there be unicorns in the mansion ?
Wait a minute are you serious? My god, I have to replay vanilla kh2 one of these days. Just thinking about having explosion after Agrabah was enough tbh
The Finklestein/Finklestein pronunciation is likely a reference to Young Frankenstein’s Frankenstein/Frankenstein pronunciation joke. (This is sarcastic, but you never know)
Nice video. Mabye it is to well know but you may have forgotten a littel thing about Kairis clothing in KH2 Vanilla. Or mabe is just to inappropriate :D
@@RegularPat omg same here!! sadly most of the time people still misinterpret it however they want and take things the wrong way even though I make sure to choose my words very carefully. Even when you try to keep other people's feelings in mind, some will always try to find that spec of negativity right between the ray of sunshine. Since I've been binge-ing everything kingdom hearts for the past few months, I'm legally obligated to say people like that have fallen to the Darkness
7:28 Speaking of Merlin's house, you'll notice a bunch of umbrellas popping out of his roof. This is a direct throwback to The Sword in the Stone in which Merlin was housed in a shitty tower with holes in the roof, and he covered those holes with umbrellas to keep the rain out (to no avail). Sword in the Stone is one of my childhood movies, and I noticed it while playing recently and went "Oh!" okay i'll stop being a nerd now thanks for coming to my ted talk
I could watch your videos all day! Your exceptionally dry sense of humor and ability to subtly drop jokes without batting an eye is very entertaining. Keep doing what you do!
There's actually a really interesting detail that you missed! The Experiment boss in Halloween Town is actually made of different parts that can be seen in the Nightmare Before Christmas. Taken directly from the KH wiki: "its left arm is the vent which Lock, Shock, and Barrel use to send bugs to Oogie Boogie, and its right arm is the torture device Oogie attempted to use on Santa Claus." Always one of my favorite easter eggs in the game
This might be a little too obvious of a secret, but Anti-Form has no shadow. Also, the library in Disney Castle might the same exact room from KH1 and the pictures of Mickey and Minnie might visible if you hack your way into the room. I wanna see someone do it. I've seen videos of hacks in the courtyard and the hallway, but not the library. Also Also, 0:13 "I've made it to 2020". That statement sounds ominous. It made me stop and think about life for a couple of seconds...
@@trashgoon He’s kidding lmao, they just added the sparkle effects because the “walk for 2 seconds and then fade into nothing” looks... bad, to say the least.
It's kinda odd that there's not many "things" that people might not pay attention in KH2 compared to KH1. I think everyone knows about Kairi's panties, or about that part in Data Twilight Town where the word that gets stolen is "picture". I think one of the few things many people might not know is that you can fight Seifer before the Struggle Tournament with Roxas.
Ah yeah in hindsight, I would've liked to include that optional Seifer fight in the alley, that was definitely something I missed for my first handful of playthroughs. I think KH2's world design probably lends to less secrets, hence the discrepancy between the amount of "things" to find between 1 and 2.
What about Kairi’s panties? I remember fighting Seifer in the back alley (I spent a TON of time in Twilight Town on my first playthrough), but I have no clue about the other things you’re talking about.
@@danielevans7439 Back in the PS2 version of KH2, in any of the rooms in TWTNW where Kairi was walking around, you could move the camera underneath Kairi to look up her skirt and see her panties. In the HD Remixes, the removed this and just left the solid pink texture of the inside of Kairi's dress.
@@LastGreatDen Oh, I was expecting something more elaborate for something “everyone knows”. They did the same thing for Selphie in KH1, but I only know that because it was included in an article about differences between the original and later versions.
There's also the treasure chests in the prologue in Central Station that you can get as Roxas, but _only_ if you backtrack after going to the place where you gather info on the 7 wonders of Twilight Town. Easily, easily missable.
I wanted to point these really 2 neat things out for this game 1. If you go on the book in merlins house and move the camra far and attack soras grunts sound far then put the camra normal they sound louder 2. If you look close every comand menu has a lucky emblem or a hidden mickey on every command menu some are easy to find like disney castles or tricky like hollow bastions where you have to take off all your shortcuts then pull out the shoetcut menu. By the way this detail was found by novayon if i spelled that right you should check his channel out its pretty cool hope you see this
Something else interesting: you might already know about Sanctuary's purposely reversed lines ("I need more affection than you know", "I need true emotions", "so many ups and downs"), but if you listen to the whole song backwards and hear it the right way (or just watch a video with lyrics), you might also be able to hear such lines as "he was Ansem", "I hear I was Ansem", "close it, now I can't close it", "I hate emotion", etc. Obviously it's not a perfect match as they weren't intended to be reversed like other parts were, but it's surprisingly close for a song that came out long before it was ever intended to be used in a KH game. One more interesting tidbit: In Sora's lines that play before the song ("A scattered memory that's like a far-off dream. A far-off dream that's like a scattered memory. I want to line the pieces up-- yours, and mine."), if you reverse the part "yours, and mine", it can sound like "Namine, sorry." Again not exact, but it still sounds very close.
Here's a weird one: If you double-jump and quickly hold the glide button without moving, Sora's animation will occasionally glitch. His upper and lower body will be misaligned, causing them to rotate in opposite directions until they meet in the correct orientation.
Almost everyone knows this, but if you go to the sandlot after becoming sora in twilight town there's a cut scene between the ref and hayner that most people skip.
This could just purely be coincidental, however inside the White Room with all the Namine drawings is one that doesn't seem to have much of a reference to anything, it being of Roxas and Axel looking at two hooded figure. Every other drawing either has a direct reference (the ones you pointed out, Axel telling Namine she can leave now that Marluxia isn't here, Roxas leaving TWTNW, ect) or a metaphorical reference (Sora and Roxas holding hands, Sora, Rikuplica, and Namine holding hands.) However there's a scene in Days where Roxas and Axel encounter hooded Xion and hooded Riku that looks pretty similar to the drawing. Nomura has stated in an ultimania interview that part of Roxas' story was outlined sometime late into KH2's development, even the idea of a girl being the influence that caused him to leave the Organization. So maybe the drawing was a last minute add to nod towards the future installment based off of the rough draft of ideas they had.
Hey pat something I noticed playing KH1 (forgive me if I already told you about this) In the traverse town second district, the hat shop near the chest on the awning sports the Mad Hatter’s iconic hat.
In KH1, you can return to the world terminus after defeating chernabog by simply flying straight up in the area where you fought him... Though I wouldn't recommend it as the game tends to get hung up on a black screen And what's worse is that you can't soft reset in the HD Remixes if this happens... (This is in the End of The World FYI)
Check this out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eEkyu95-Vu8.html Apparently there is a hidden Mickey in every command menu, I had no idea.
I still don’t get his jiminy new about scar’s ghost way before rye second visit. Wouldn’t made sense if Pete was there again. But then the organisation did manifest every world anyway. Lol
If you try to get the entire 5000 munny yourself as Roxas the game will stop you once you hit a specific amount of munny and you'll get a 2 AP buff. Probably a commonly known thing, but still cool
At least Mickey Mouse didn’t lose his pants too in 0.2. Seriously that would’ve just been awkward seeing him in his underwear! Especially when he was helping sora, Donald and goody close the door to kingdom hearts. That would’ve been embarrassing to explain.
Playing the game in first person? Whoa that’s a first! I don’t think I’d ever do that. The game wasn’t designed for FPS. Unless you have to play it in first person mode. Lol
I was CONVINCED that Twilight Town used to be Daybreak Town and I can’t believe that’s not what turned out to be true. I mean it’s…literally….the same name?! Not to mention the Unicornis themed mansion with weird pods in the basement I thought were for sure the time travel pods they used for the dandelions. And Why does Roxas spawn in Twilight Town? Because of his connection to Ven maybe?? Who lived in Daybreak town? It all fits so well I think it must have been planned at one point and they just changed course. I’m losing my mind about it still years later…..
Also if Scala was built after the war over the ruins of Daybreak Town, how are TVA able to visit Keyblade Graveyard like 1000 years after the events? Is it possible that Scala, KG and Twilight Town all used to be part of Daybreak Town at some point and were split apart. I think I remember there being something about all the worlds being connected in the past..like you could just walk to Agrabah
I've always kind of hoped that Twilight Town's beach is the one and the same as the Destiny Islands. Would really put Roxas and Sora so close to home but so far away.
Because of the rumors about sora riku and kairi/selfie being the main characters, I’d love to see kh4 have the bouncer world. But not Disney enough………….. ugh
Since my comment was probably put in the manual review section, I WAS WRONG! Idk why that happened in my KH2 randomizer because I didn't randomize the command menus
We don't _know_ that the people running the shops in Twilight Town and Hollow Bastion are the actual shop owners. Maybe Biggs Wedge Jessie and Barret actually do own the place and are just off screen doing "manager" things while a random part timer cashier handles sales.
I don't see anyone mention this, and it's just speculation, but in the World That Never Was, in the Ruin and Creation's Passage room, it appears as though the Organization is attempting to create their own Dive to the Heart, what with the disconnected pillars and the appearing pathways between them~
So pat fun fact square watermelon in Japan cost around 10k but only 65$ in US money still overpriced but seems like a steal if there using Japanese currency 😂😂
It's probably a fairly obvious reference. Star Wars is huge in Japan Characters named Biggs and Wedge have been a recurring thing in FF since at least FFVI, though they tend to be very minor (or even completely missable) characters
This might seem bizarre, but Kingdom Hearts 2 was actually the first Kingdom Hearts game I ever played. I couldn't explain why, I guess the cover caught my attention. But I'm glad it did, since I am now a MASSIVE KH fan.
I don't know if this was already added somewhere, but to go along with Pence's shirt being from Dogstreet, Sora's outfit in KH1 was based off of Sion from The Bouncer as well
8:55 Maybe I'm missing a joke or maybe I'm just seeing things but it looks to me like the counter says 1. So that'd put their visit to Halloween town on Christmas Eve.
In the german version of kh2 roxas and friends go to the beach to buy chocolate bananas and watermelon. In kh2 final mix they changed it to pretzels and melon. I wonder why..?
